Looking forward to seeing your creations. I was a teen when they first came out so I didn’t get into them. But I now have a one year old granddaughter and we’re starting her collection.
I love this idea! I have an Emily doll. To the collar without the rest of the blouse: at least in 1940s Germany those seperate and reversable collars were super popular because you could use tiny fabric scraps to create an accessoire that freshes up an old dress/blouse/jumper. Seperate cuffs were popular too. So it might have been a concious decision on American Girl's side 😊
Thank you!! That's really cool! I defiantly agree and think that it was a conscious decision of American Girl do include the separate collar/dickey. I was just looking thorough the book Molly's World last night and it mentioned how dickeys were popular because they took less fabric than a whole blouse.😊😊😊
I think my daughter is the same age as you are because she's also on the cut-off date between millennials and Gen Z. I'm going to tell her that she is officially part of the American Doll generation 🤭
