Sasha really lived up to her hype. Not all legendary queens have succeeded in this particular format, but Sasha really showed that she could compete on another level than the rest.
One thing about Sasha: people hyped her up so much inside and out of the fandom and she proofs them right! Truly one of the best contestant and winner in drag race herstory.
Sasha definitely changed the way fans see pageant queens on the show. Half the time they either are extremely hyped by the fan base before the season is aired and then we all find out that they don’t do so well and are eliminated rather early or midway through the season like Naysha or they think that they are better than the others because of their name and are dismissive towards those whose drag is more on the artistic or alternate side like Jaremi. Sasha was neither of those and she showed that she was far more than just a pretty face.
people love to comment that they knew from the promo that she would win and it’s predictable. Sasha more than proved herself this season and showed that despite having prestige before the show it’s the work you do on it that matters
By the finale i really thought it could be either sasha or anetra, but in the end sasha really pulled ahead in the final lip sync. i wonder if anetra got in her head at all about it, considering she lip synced (sank?) against sasha before and lost.
I think it was everything. She must be exhausted from the reception she’s receiving, a dancer got injured during the first take of her number, and Sasha’s costume was IN fucking SANE. I feel like I didn’t see the Anetra we know so well until she started pulling the heart off her costume. Then she was there. I think she was definitely in her head about a lot of things. We will never know until she tells us, I just wish some people were being gentler in the comments of her performance. She deserves so much love and support. Honestly, I was rooting for Anetra but I loved Sasha too and knew it was her season.
I knew Sasha will win is after the RUMIX. Ive got the expectation from her since the begining since she was a legend but after the talent show, she already have lots of contender...
Come on she was even mentioned in the promo “Sasha colby is an icon” name dropped since day 1 of course she was winning! I’m happy for her but I did really want a double win ngl but I like how it’s been possibly the closest result between the winners in the whole franchise!
Sasha’s win is so well deserved bc she served and delivered each and every week, and was kind to everyone through it all. truly proved u don’t need to be a bitch and a sneak to win
So many of us held Sasha in HIGH regard and knew in our hearts it was her season , but I fall in the category of the those who adore Sasha and knew she was winning but having Anetra pull ahead as far as who we were rooting for but I gotta say, it just doesn’t feel right for Sasha to have lost. Anetra coming back, climbing like a lotus, for all stars and winning that makes sense to me.
Honestly I wasn't sure until she won that first acting challenge. There have been so many times when some well known seasoned drag queen is on the show and just doesn't do well in the challenges and goes home early. But it quickly became clear that wasn't the case for Sasha.
@@therealverdadero332a lot of people are upset. theres been a lot of unnecessary hate and transphobia towards sasha just because people are mad that she did better than their favs. people are delusional and use it as an excuse to be a bad person
Does she deserve the crown? Absolutely! Do I find it off putting that she was even put into drag race against other extremely less experienced queens who did not stand a chance? Yeah. Every time I talk about this I get attacked with “so your saying she doesn’t deserve it” and “stop hating Sasha destroyed the season”. And I mean what do u expect when you pit a dragon against a pack of wolves? Sasha imo should have been put into like a “drag legends” season where everyone is at the same calibre here. It just feels off, like an Olympic athlete participating in a small town competition
@@seaxel yeah but since she entered the werkroom it was like her *thing* that she was “the best”. It just feels not only so predictable but unfair to the other queens who were in a race with someone basically invincible. The playing field is not even here and again, not saying she shouldn’t have won cuz it was only fair considering her track record but it just doesn’t feel right to me
@@Oogaboogahooga1I get what you mean. I was happy she won because she deserved it but it was also anticlimactic because you knew she was gonna win from day 1. I’m just happy that Anetra was so great that she forced herself into the conversation. I totally understand why Sasha waited to be on the show but it did feel like she was the only adult in the room competing against teenagers.
@@Oogaboogahooga1 i feel like you're just trying to discredit sasha's win here... i mean, everyone kept talking how good anetra was, even considering mistress as a threat in the competion and, spoiler alert, MIB was a freaking threat cause she was just as good and professional as miss colby, sasha owned the season fair and square, many legendary queens out of RPDR flopped on the show, but sasha wasnt one of those queens, it's not her fault that she was bad only in one episode... carmen farala, envy peru and sharonne were also queens who were great during the whole season
Sasha slayed the competition indeed. But (putting my producer hat on) 🧢 after having her in the top 4 it was important for her to do well at the finale and crown her to make a statement in the real world with what is happening not only with drag, but also with transgender individuals. I am not transgender, but I damn sure think they deserve to roam The Earth freely like the rest of us.
In most seasons, Anetra and Luxxx would be battling it tf out for the crown, or Mistress would be the first big girl winnerfuckingfinally but ... goddamn, nobody stood a chance once Sasha walked in.
no offence, but the fact that sasha won has now made the season feel kinda boring, like we all knew sasha was gonna win, it would have made more sense and better tv to have someone else win and bring sasha back for an all stars. this is just my opinion
On the one hand, Sasha was already America's drag superstar, so the crown is meaningless. Although the $200k and the platform are super nice. On the other hand, I really like seeing the young girls compete against and compare themselves against an accomplished performer like Sasha. That's like to college.
