Great clip of the Monkees presenting an award. They in turn are introduced by Diana Ross.
This incident is recounted in Micky's autobiography. Before this, the 3 guys had a massive bust up. Straight after, they walked off in different directions and didn't speak for ages.

I think this was one of the times they were having a huge fight in the wings before they went onstage to do their stuff. You'd never know it, they were such professionals. And Peter was such a doll!

I just read Micky's book, and it sounded like a humdinger! They must have been great actors to be ready to kill each other than go out on stage all smiles and jokes. Wow.

After reading Micky's book I think their egos had gotten out of hand especially Davy's and that evening it all came to a head before their appearance on the show, I got the impression Davy felt he was the star of the 3 in fact I read in a book by Harold Bronson from Rhino Records that Davy's then wife said Davy was going to be bigger than Springsteen, I spit out my coffee when I read that.
