Hi Ms. Jenny, thank you so much for all the practical Montessori training you have been sharing through these super beneficial video presentations! Your heartfelt tips and advice truly inspire me and give me the confidence to teach my students in a delightful, effective way. I was just wondering, can you also do videos illustrating "Grace & Courtesy" lessons with examples and practical advice on how to teach good manners to children ages 3-6 years old? It would be immensely appreciated, and thank you very, very much in advance!

Hello. Thank you for putting your time into making these videos. You make them clear to understand and I enjoy them. I am wondering what practical life activities are appropriate for a 12-13 month old.

My little one is 26 months and loves picking up things to throw them back out again, but is not great at tidying up something to leave it tidy. At this age how strict should I be about the clean up process? Any suggestions on things to try?
@SunshineTeachersTraining
@SunshineTeachersTraining 2 года назад
It is always a. great idea to make tidying up a game or something fun. But you must be gentle yet firm about tidying up.

I have a 4 yr old who is not cooporative with her peers. When she likes an activity she "hoards" it. She will play with it and then hold onto it while getting something else out. I keep trying to explain the idea of sharing, taking turns, putting one thing away before getting out another, she is just not willing to work well with others. She is obstinate when it comes to almost every thing all day. There is a control issue happening but while we try to work through this, she is not making friends and that makes me sad. She is given choices throughout the day and usually wants anything other than the 2 choices offered. Also, if she does put it away, she will sit next to the next person who is using it and keep putting her fingers in their activity and irritating them. I cannot figure out how to curb this behavior. Any ideas, experience with this, or suggestions?

Have you tried having some form of boundaries or consequences for her. "If you disturb your friends when they are working then I will have to ----" It may not work immediately... but after experiencing the consequence after a few times she may be able to follow the rules.

@@SunshineTeachersTraining I ask her to leave. Her friends alone. I tell her that they used their words to ask her to leace them alone. I give her a minute to process and decide if she will move ir not. Then I tell her she has the choice to pick something else and sit somewhere else or she can go to the next room ( which is an open floor plan and isnt away from us but is away from the child she is bothering) usually she screams at us. "Noooooo. I want it!". I take her by the hand and walk her away while she is screaming and tell her to please join us when she is calm again but we have the choice to not listen to her scream. She usually cries for about 30 seconds and comes back and us fine for a little bit. I can't seem to get her to understand the concept of returning the item so someone else can have it. She just hoards what she likes. It is not fair or just to the others. I am really trying my best to help her but I just don't know if I am doing it right, or if she just will take longer to learn.

What if the child doesn't have patience to let me explain in the beginning?
@SunshineTeachersTraining
@SunshineTeachersTraining 10 месяцев назад
Great question! Patience can sometimes be a challenge during dry pouring activities. To keep the child engaged, start by making the activity fun and interactive. Show them how exciting it can be to pour the dry materials, and then let them give it a try. If they're still struggling with patience, you can break the activity into smaller steps. Begin with a brief demonstration, then have them pour a small amount, and gradually increase the amount as they become more comfortable. You can also turn it into a game by setting a timer and challenging them to pour as quickly as possible while still being careful. Remember, it's all about making learning enjoyable and helping them develop patience over time.
