Always respect the power of the moringa tree. Here's why! This superfood is a nutritional powerhouse and considered an amazing #medicinal plant too. But beware!
NOTE: Why did you cut down the moringa tree?
I have to keep answering this question so here we go again. The tree was planted in a wet location. The root system became weak and growth was declining. The tree also became infested with termites. Finally, these trees are often grown as annuals. Many people grow them for one year and harvest leaves and pods. They then replant them from seeds. Some also use five foot thick branches that root in the ground. I would have let the tree grow if it was healthy. I currently have another tree that is two years old just 12 feet away and it is 25 foot tall.

Please never kill a moringa tree. They are a gift from God. I harvest, dry the leaves, then pulverize into a powder & make my own capsules. No need for store bought vitamins. I am 75 and no medical issues.❤️

@AK-kn9ob
@AK-kn9ob 2 года назад
This tree is native to the Indian continent and is a part of various Indian cuisines. The name Moringa comes from Tamil/Sinhalese where it is called "murungyikai". Truly a versatile plant and a tree of life. It is also considered an aphrodisiac (maybe a legend).
@Thekomokoro
@Thekomokoro Год назад
We call it Malunggay in the Philippines and knowing how Ancient Hindus traveled to Southeast Asia in ancient times I really think there's a link. It was present in the Philippine's pre-colonial era. The Moringa is believed to be very ancient and must have existed during the dinosaur era. Perhaps a plant species from the Garden of Eden.

Maybe the spiciness that you tasted from the moringa leaves are caused by: 1. consuming the leaves raw 2. Overcooking the leaves. NEVER OVERCOOK moringa leaves. The taste is nasty. 3. The very dark green mature leaves tends to have this spicy-like taste. Use the young leaves and shoots if you're going to consume the moringa as a vegetable. And an advice from someone who literally grew up with a moringa tree- moringa is MEANT to use as a fresh vegetable for cooking. The powdered leaves are added in local flour to fortify/add some nutrients to our local bread here (pan de sal). It's true that moringa leaves are often given to lactating mother's diet to enhance milk production. Yes moringa is chockfull of nutrients but not complete. Better consult a dietician/nutrionist/ physician if you wanna introduce moringa into your diet. Oh yeah if you don't know how to cook moringa leaves I suggest you search some Filipino dishes like Tinolang Manok/ Chicken Tinola with Moringa Leaves, Ginisang Munggo/ Savory Sauteed Mung Beans with Moringa Leaves, Snails in Coconut Milk and Moringa Leaves and Sauteed Canned Sardines (in Tomato Sauce) with Moringa. Cheers and good luck to you.

My mum use to prepare the vegetable with fresh scraped coconut, and it was so yummy. Nice story. Agree too can cause a demise of a human. Moringa is one of the must-grow traditional plants for Tamils in Tamil Nadu , South India and diaspora arnd the world like Msia, Sumatra. We grewup on it - mum cooked it with grated coconut flakes and onions and bits of tempering spice to kill off the bittery radishy taste . Goodluck to planting more of it

Yes it's not something you should daily forever. It could mess with your intestines, kidney and liver. I was told 2 weeks and then take a month off. If you are starting out do so with a small amount like half a teaspoon and then work up from there if you don't get any adverse effects.

Pepe. In my country the Indian people ( forefathers came from India) eat the young pods. They would take the young pods about 8" long, and remove the outer ribs on the skin with a knife. These ribs are hard. Then they would cut them up in 1' lengths and add them to whatever they are cooking in curry. Here the modern name is Moringa, but for more than a hundred years it was known as " SAI-JAN". Saijan is still sold in the markets in a bundle of about 20 pods. Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies.

I boil moringa leave with a few stem attached to the leaves, drained the water to a 40cl bottle. Drank it almost throughout the day, could sleep at night, just as though I took an energy drink, cos I took the whole bottle, just a little was remain. It also hurt me a little on my truth, not much just as though my throat was on fire. But it was fine the next day, at least i woke up early and strong after I slept late a lot of pains left me. But then I would be taken more than 20cl per day. I remember I cook it with ginger and some tumeric, most time without tumeric.

Plants contain chemicals which protect them from predators. Moringa is also known as Horseradish Tree for a reason. It contains Gallic tannins, catechol tannins, steroids and triterponoids, saponins, anthraquinones, alkaloids, and reducing sugars.

We love Moringa! Where could we get Moringa Tree in the USA? We live in Las Vegas. Been looking forward to having this plant. We truly love Moringa in the Philippines. I knew about how great Moringa from my father who was a great garden teacher in our home town in Leyte. He won first prize in a national gardening contest in the Philippines in the late ‘50s. He said, a handful of Moringa leaves gives more help to our body than anything else. We grew up eating Moringa & you can make tea out of it, too! Please help me get Moringa tree to plant in Vegas. Thank you!🥰🌺
