Nemo is as hard as steel. The last time I attended church I had a panic attack. I can't go back. How can you go to church as an ex-Mo, Nemo? I can't do it. I don't think that I could handle a Mormon funeral either. Even seeing her in temple clothes might crush me. I have asked her to plan something for my brother and I. She will be the only TBM left in the family. I hope that She will plan something that will help us, her brothers to gain some closure without being confronted with Mormonism.

When did Jesus ever say to the poor, the way out of poverty is for you to pay tithing. Tithes were given to the local temple to feed the poor, the widowed, the orphaned, and the dispossessed. If the temple wasn’t doing that, it was not doing its job.

From the Bible and yes there are more where God commands us to pay tithing and the reason for it. "For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. Everyone knows tithing is also for church buildings, operation of Ward and Stake functions, and many more items other than these beautiful Temples! The Temples have a purpose for the individual to receive revelation. Just like the temples in the New and Old Testament. The portable temple, Solomon's temple, what we know now of King Herod's temple were built for the individuals to receive revelation and instructions. You are also uninformed as to the purpose of the law of tithing. Tithing was commanded of God and reinforced during Christ ministry in the New Testament. Tithing is all about helping the individual with both the GIVING & RECEIVING. You need to push away from these un-informed channels and spend more time studying the doctrines of Christ.

As a multigenerational active nuanced member who’s proud to be a Mormon it blows my mind that neither President Nelson or the public relations department did not think about the fact he threw so many years of prophets and members under the bus by declaring the moniker a victory for satan. At least he could have said from now on it’s a rule and in the past it was ok. But to say it the way he said it was crazy but even crazier is the way the members swallowed it and instantaneously adopted the ‘defend the name of the church attitude’ like a Jedi mind trick had been performed on them. “You are no longer Mormon but a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with the wave of a hand so many members didn’t give a second thought to the millions of dollars of their money they just spent on the “I’m a Mormon” campaign. I ask people about that and they just shrug their shoulders and say that’s how it is. It is scary that if you think things out logically you’re in danger of losing your testimony or an apostate for even asking the question.

The moment that Rusty used the "Victory For Satan" tagline, I thought out "well, Rusty, you just condemned all the previous Presidents of the Church, right back to Joseph Smith, as being tools of Satan". His claim of it being a revelation is bogus, too - he's had a bee in his bonnet about "Mormon" since the 90s, when he gave a speech in which he wanted to forbid the word - only to have Gordon Hinkley call him out in GC six months later and politely tear him a new arse over such a nit-picky and Phariseeical opinion. And how fast Susan Bednar's Husband was quick to fall in line with Rusty, saying that Mormon was being used by "our enemies". Folks, if a Church is constantly sniping about "its enemies", that's a sure sign it's a cult. I mean, Dalek Hoax revealed during the "Boise Rescue" that the Church had an enemies list in which they named names. You know who else had an enemies list? Richard Nixon.

@@dreibel it seems like such a simple thing and one that shouldn’t be an issue and it shouldn’t have been but he used that prophetic voice that implied God had come to him and told him to tell us that He was offended. God doesn’t get offended and is President Nelson insinuating that God had told all the other prophets to stop it and they just ignored His request? Making a campaign using the very offensive word itself just to mock Gods offense? I don’t think so and I don’t think it’s a victory for satan. I think it’s a way to detach the church on the internet from any historical documents that say Mormon in them. In a hundred years from now they’ll try and claim it was a different church. Just as they do with the fundamentalist who are living the principle the prophet or his counselors told them to never stop living because God said the principle would never be taken from the church. Damage control has been the name of the game since day one in the church and it is concerning. I want to stay and I want it to be what Joseph Smith thought it could be and what my ancestors worked so hard for it to be. But now the church is divorcing itself from the Mormonism they built in doctrine and in name now.

The Church, by having limited membership growth globally stays off the radar of public scrutiny. If the Church had reached the predicted numbers from the early 80’s of around 200 million members now, it would be more visible and therefore attract more scrutiny. Multiply the issues the Church has now by 20 and you can see how beneficial it is to limit growth. By limiting its core members and satisfying their needs, it has a high return on investment. If they were to experience similar growth to the 50’s through to the 80’s consistently and manage to minimise attrition, you would dilute that return on investment. The question then becomes, are we dealing with the master, or the apprentice/servant. And if the Church and it’s leaders are merely servants, who are the masters? And I’m not being cerebral and asking is Jesus Christ the master? I’m referring to potential insidious interested parties who maybe financially benefiting from the large commercial arm of the Church.

At that time of Joseph F Smith, the church was getting out of major debt to banks and other organizations. Each Bishop would assess certain members, every year, additional donations above and beyond tithing and fast offerings. This practice continued until 30 or 40 years ago. @@user-jr7xk9su5n Actually, Tithing was an Old covenant practice. It was a way for the Levite priesthood to be cared for. Jesus abolished this practice in that He Himself is God and man, in which He is The high priest of a new covenant, and all who believe in Him are called priests. There is no longer a select group or class of perpetual priests under Christ in Gods Kingdom. All are saints, priests, and members of the Body of Christ, His church. The early church did not have an institution of tithing. It was called a willful offering or gift as each individual member decided to give, non compulsory, not kept records off nor membership based on a tithe. Tithing was not part of the Law of Moses. Abraham paid tithing to Melchizedek almost 600 years before Moses. Oops, you forgot to read your scriptures? Also, Christ did not abolish the law of Moses, but he came to fulfill the law of Moses. BIG HUGE DIFFERENT!!! I find it interesting that a few Christians often speak for the whole Christian community, as if you’re the mouth piece for all Christians. For example, you imply that all Christian churches do not believe in the law of tithing. And yet a christian church down the road from my house teaches the law of tithing. How can that be? However I have heard your old “doctrinal gymnastics” on the law of tithing from others. This recycled teaching has been a growing again these past years. Great way to keep the Lord’s money and not feel guilty. I am so grateful for living prophets and additional scriptures that help us get past all these twisted “doctrinal gymnastics” like yours. It’s always the people who Satan deceives fail to see God’s truth and lean unto their own flawed understanding. God loves a cheerful giver. So I suggest you go to God and challenge his words that was spoken by his ordained representative that you think it’s wrong to exercise faith in giving to his church because you call it “prosperity gospel”. Now they're drug dealing homes for the neighbors. The police are often called to solve problems better rides from people that live in these homes. But I bet is nice to live in your fantasy world where you just give money to the poor and magically they're not poor anymore! Magically homes appear and jobs happen and they get cars, and they're off drugs, and they except the needed medical and psychological attention. Why don't you give all your money to the poor? Also your question is wrong. Its not about why the church collects your tithing, it's about why you pay your tithing. The only times I have seen where the bishop removes assistance is when abuse of the Lord's funds are happening oftentimes that individual moves somewhere else to receive funds from another bishop until it is stopped.

@RichardChappell1
@RichardChappell1 Год назад
@@chlyri The problem is when people like you get fast and loose swith language so you can throw out statements like that which are completely dishonest. Let's look at your statement from the beginning - "...they (and the church as a whole)..." is a perfect example of the hypocrisy you're starting from. The definition of bigotry is "obstinate or unreasonable attachment to a belief, opinion, or faction; in particular, prejudice against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group." You have put the entire Church membership into a group that you have prejudged - in a completely obstinate and unreasonable way. Of course, you can play the game with the amount of obstinate or unreasonability - bet then you have to make it so broad that everyone is a bigot about something, making the word meaningless. Next, you use the phrase "can't tolerate." The meaning of tolerate is "allow the existence, occurrence, or practice of (something that one does not necessarily like or agree with) without interference." Again, here's another label that you play the spectrum game. You broadedn the meaning so much that it has no meaning. The Church is not interfering ion any way with your (or anyone's) existence, occurance or practice. To say otherwise is a lie. The Church's position is that homosexual acts are a sin and continued sinful practice is incompatible with covenants made when baptised. The worst thing that the Church could do would be to excommunicate someone, which is nothing more than removing the covenants made at baptism. The Church doesn't then say they can't coime to Church, but encourages attendance and continued work to align with the covenants that go with baptism. So any honest and reasonable person, can't make that claim. The fact is the only bigotry being practiced here is yours and those of your fellow antogonists making dishonest accusations. By definition, you are the bigot.

After Nemo points out that the corporation of the presiding bishopric was renamed first, and then the corporation of the first presidency was amalgamated or absorbed into that, that confirms my suspicions. In the "Church Investment Governance Structure" chart (at around 8:06 ), the label "invited others" immediately caught my attention. It's not hard to imagine the scope of shenanigans and mischief (in the form of cronyism, nepotism and insider dealing, among other things) that can be concealed behind such a label. That's a 2013 chart. But I have little doubt that "invited others" continue to play a substantial role in deciding how and where LDS-ChurchCo's assets are "invested". If anything, after the corporate restructuring of the legal entity (which was in all likelihood carried out at the urging of certain "invited others"), the role of "invited others" has probably only increased.

Thanks for the showing the cooperate affiliation diagram Nemo! I've discussed that aspect with quite a few others locally (In UT, Out of state apart from UT) before and many don't know of that aspect and believe it's all conspiracy nonsense or the 'one the one showing the relation' is creating 'false' witness' on the matter/ or the community usually grows in their own emotional upheaval to assume fort of faith sedition is aloof to then exercise undue unjust punishment/ disciplinary action. I wish I had your affiliation diagram in the past. Basically, one had to research the company down to their base cooperate umbrella and see that the leads are all a part of the siphoned control of the church. The payroll of the apostles/prophet is also split as a chairman/board member under some of these branches. Business can function like a business and then there are portions of the business itself that's subversive to itself and practiced with extreme disciplinary measure with their double take on agenda and odd policies. The control that is facilitated through these organizations/businesses is what serves as a bias form of influence or an extension of power making up the culture of the Theocracy. In a few generations before, their influences were pretty bad as they formed a sort of censure-syndicate creating their own police within church and business dealings in the area. In times past some of these businesses had their own cloak/dagger calling themselves 'The Zion co-op' or the 'New World order'. Members didn't mess with them, or dig into it, or bad things would occur or people go missing. (Post Golden Age of Mormonism going into the Dark tyrannical managerial days) These businesses are better in reputation than in the past. Some are little more independent, but several of them have policies that they can't speak ill about the church, neither can they be against the church. If they speak ill, or they infract on their internal policies they are either fired, or if management is more zealot like, the 'trespasser'/'irreverent' is made into a public example by destroying their career reputation off the infraction + adding more persecution of disciplinary infraction, and left out of the society/ their community of faith as a heathen or apostate. (When often they themselves have done no verbal/behavioral wrong, but the measure of discipline follows its own belief course to assume its a 'Sin' out of turn/ out of policy adherence) Quite a few of these businesses have employment that require temple recommends and follow the totality of the Dogma. These businesses are more tender in environment to work with, as everyone nearly looks over each other's shoulder and look for the weak one out uproot or 'win back over' to their dogmatic collect. Other members believe that this collection of businesses is what building Zion is all about, and others believe that that is the Foundation and organization of Zion. Some other prominent businesses and MLMs copy the church's pattern and implement it into their own design to force an authority culture centering the validity of their product or to embellish the authority of their services/product when often they hold people to anti-disparagement clauses or take the same measure of pittance to discriminate and menace another's business/ distributor business on a sort of odd business theocracy on poor loose business practices and vague sense of authority to rule over their consumers/distributors and create a lot of cult like niches.
@garikj766
@garikj766 2 года назад
The other issue with sort of umbrella association is that the 'powers that be' over the control have unlimited power and unlimited access to personal information, affecting personal life and creating their own social experiments. They can wear down target groups with innuendo, propaganda, and bias/ made up studies to posture a group to be more receptive or to assume a blissful state of existence that's more than likely half-assed, made up, or pull the context/reach of reality out of one's own personal responsibility. A leader can say something he shouldn't, then take it down in 20 min if he has a negative response, then rewrite it / take out the pertinent fact and create a new narrative that would give them more acceptance or favor then swear the editorial staff to secrecy or to the threat of their own jobs/security in life and the world would suppose that the new direction/narrative was the original design all along. If this is played too well, one can magically create miracles with biased authority news parties or organize greater intolerance to issues they wish to create an intolerance towards. Also from the Boardman/chairman Standpoint The influence a leader has in his own sense of ego / and belief to reorganize a local industry - He could technically re-rwrite his own education textbook and charge the learning to be learned at BYU or other church approved school (when the individual has no educational accreditation to his name or ounce of educational acumen under his belt). He can literally create his own 'education' under the belief and interpretation of his own mind. Members below would not only accept it, but they'd believe it would be revelation at that point and defend the leader's teaching/ positions further messing up the Member's own careers and understand in their own world. Or if the leader is haughty and prominent in his belief of theocracy reforming education to create his own industry, he could just produce another supplementary manual to reinforce a sort of church discipline to his 'education' and create another hell-hole internal discipline to force education to his target audience. No one would know the difference as they'd be censored, oppressed, or excommunicated out for 'disloyalty', 'being rebellious against the brethren' or 'Speaking out against the Greater Light'. Of course onw would never be given that side of perception to view, nor one would be allowed the frame of mind to begin to put a lens on and know that's going on. The leaders put a suppose that everything done in righteousness will bring forth more righteousness, like experience, distinguish, or congruency to issues matter. Individuals would just believe and defend staunchly even when they go down their own misguide and grow intolerant of their own reality being warped and convinced by loyalty and positive affirmation.
@garikj766
@garikj766 2 года назад
Also to add, the behavior that usually emerges is that a leader stays dominant to assume their spiritual new domain and extension is just. They integrate a new organization/business/'reinvented industry/or dominant social program taking place of an industry into others' lives, then if that new extension/facility comes under attack, members would believe in the function/utility/or symbol then keep the institution/extension in play (regardless if it's dysfunctional) then the leader can operate a new satellite of power to draw from or pit members against each other to create a new local practice in Theocracy and 'divine right' to usurp and build greater power over their own Brethren. These guys don't tend to play with each other well. It's ironically humous, but it sucks that the members are always under the crossfire or being played as a medium of substances to vie for more power or to be down the barrel of power games that they can't see, but assume that they are living in a literal Holy War between Good and Evil. The Good (Their side and locale influence winning) / The Evil (Anyone the leader supposes are opponents or sometimes the actual mainstream church so he can keep power confirmed under his own rule loyal)

TRUTH: there is a group in the Bible called the Recabites and they made a covenant with God that they would live in tents and not drink wine. The Lord commands the prophet Jeremiah to invite the Recabites in and encourage them to drink some wine. 🥂 (Will the Recabites follow the prophet?) The Recabites uphold to their covenants they made with God and do not partake of the wine. (What does God do to them for not following His prophet?) God commends and praises 👏 the Recabites for holding true to their covenant and scripture and not relying on the arms of flesh (Prophet is considered the arms of flesh) This story shows that people should only follow the prophet if it is in harmony with the scriptures and the spirit within them and to not always put your trust in a prophet, for they can try to lead you astray just like Jeremiah did to the Recabites.

The church is a business that dabbles in religion. Making money and protecting the corporation seem to be the primary objective. We are told to judge by the fruits. The "fruits" point at a business.

Thank you for your interesting contributions. Speak slowly if you can, so simultaneous translation works better. Thank you.

So…I find it interesting that they all seem to speak with this LDS Apostle voice. Kind of boring to listen to them sounding the same no matter which one is speaking.

The suicide rate in Utah is very high especially among gay young people. This is cruelty from the church.

I view this church in the exact same light as any other organization that feels like they're doing poor people a favor by TAKING from them - when JESUS said to give TO the poor. Let's follow Jesus instead of high power religious authorities.

I really feel for that live translator getting blindsided by the word bigot and settling for “no..no odiamos” “we don’t hate” in a reserved tone.

Also that journalist could have said more than “ok” when Susan’s husband David said “we just can’t know the numbers”.. Anything, even a “you don’t keep track of that?” would have been better journalism.

Nemo, I thoughtI could trust you not to trigger me. That senile old man still triggers me. Even though my Mom said he was a work friend of hers while working as a nurse before I was born.

@@NEMOTHEMORMON I know. But she was downloading tidbits as Alzheimers sets in. Then Covid hit and now she isn't here anymore. When I saw her again she didn't even remember me. I missed my chance of catching her in a lucid state because I had a stroke just as the holidays set in, so I wasn't very lucid myself. I was crying mourning for my my losing my Mom and some idiot reported that I was was having a nervous breakdown and sedated me and took me to the looney bin. I was either in a fog, or heavily sedated. I woke up the night before I could go home. I spent the rest of my time wiping away tears from those with bipolar disorders who were being tortured by refusing to give them their meds. I wasn't so frantic for mine. Maybe that is why I was sent there. To comfort these crying women. One even taught me a Mantra to help me calm down. She even reminded me when she saw me started stressing myself. Once I left there I totally forgot it. Maybe I do have a guardian angel 😇 after all.

As I can tell and it’s very sad half the membership is inactive so if we have 16 million people only 8 million of them are going to church on a regular basis because when you deal in a Bishop rig with active families and inactive families which outnumbered the active families with each ward and they probably do out number the active families

My problem, right in to the video is Nemo uses a dubious definition of bigotry. So if we discriminate against groups we are bigots? So if we put all murderers and rapists in jail. We are discriminating against them? So what? If we say no pedophiles can teach public school apparently that makes us bigots. 🙄🙄🙄
