hearing you talk about being grateful to be able to workout and move the way you was so heartwarming. as somebody who has a physical disability that's an invisible one- it can be devastating and hard to not be able to move the way i want to and to keep telling people to move and never take your health for granted. hearing somebody talk about such a hard topic made me smile. thankyou for saying what so many want more and more people to think about :)
agreed!! invisible chronic illnesses are so tough and so many influencers say super ableist things about how everyone needs to work out all the time in a specific type of way but they don’t realize it isn’t possible for all of us. glad Gretchen is thankful for her abilities 💛
I have watched you for years and never comment but I had to on this one! Hearing you talk about having gratitude for being able to work out reminded me of why I enjoy watching your vids -- you truly seem like such a genuine soul!
Was listening to your latest pod ep this morning and LOVED the beginning. Can't wait to finish it. This video was soooooo good- so happy you made it. Ended up mentioning you to my therapist- between our almost idential personalities and same age feel like we're long lost best friends. Can never express how much your content means to me. You're my comfort RU-vidr 100%. Thank you for creating your channel and letting us into your life. Really hope you and Max wind up in Chicago when you travel this summer. You both would love it and would love to meet you! ❤️
I found you from your podcast in winter of 2020 and since then I have been loving watching your videos, listening to your pod and following you on instagram! you have become SUCH an inspiration to me, I love going on my walks and listening to your podcasts because they are just so insightful, and your videos are so inspiring and calming! Everything about you is just so happy and I get such good vibes from your whole personality :) Keep being you bestie

I relate so much with the phone thing. So what I am doing, while I’m going to bed and sleeping , I have my phone in the next room with personal mode on. In personal mode, you can choose people and when they call or sent you a message, the phone will ring. And if the phone is only in the next room, you will most likely hear, when someone is calling you. That just helped me, feel more relaxed.
Woah I noticed in the ouai clip but your hair is definitely naturally wavy!!! I think you could totally enhance those waves if you wanted to do some curly girl typa techniques :,))) love ya Gretchen
Good morning Gretchen happy Saturday morning and I just wanted to say that your morning routine vlogs of course is amazing and you are amazing Supporter and I loved your channel always because you are sweetheart
I have the same issues with my really fine hair! I love the garnier fructis glass hair water and the loreal 8 second wonder water!! They are game changing!!!
Gretchen HOW do you keep your place looking so clean when you have a golden?? I have two dogs and cannot keep fur off my sheets/couch/anywhere no matter how much I wash them!!
I have a similar fear about my phone! I plug mine in across the room from my bed and put it on do not disturb but have it set to ring for certain people and if I get repeat calls, that way if something happens I will still hear the call
Love you gretchen! The tik tok you're referring to sounds pretty harsh--I love to workout and move however I think labeling people who don't as "selfish" is hurtful and unfair. I just don't know if that is the most compassionate approach to take. No hate at all, I know where you are coming from and the intention behind the sentiment--just wanted to maybe use some kinder language around people who don't workout on a daily basis. Anyways, I know you said take it with a grain of salt, nothing but love for you just my thoughts on the tik tok!
it is definitely rooted in ableism. not being able to work out is not a moral failing, and neither is not working out because you don’t want to. guilt shouldn’t be a motivating factor, and we should instead focus on how we can better create spaces for our disabled friends and family to exist how they are, without judgement or being told they are selfish for not functioning exactly how our abled society demands.
yes definitely very harsh & not compassionate. I don’t agree that people that don’t work are selfish as I know there are many many valid reasons for that, I just found it motivating is all💓 side note- I’ve always found myself pushed the hardest by harsh coaches growing up so maybe this is why I feel this way? I know it’s not for everyone though!! I try to always make it clear that my favorite language around exercise is listening to your body, finding what works for you, and is realistic for your lifestyle! & I mention how if movement isn’t possible for you that any form of mindfulness can also be very helpful💓 I appreciate your opinion though since I totally agree with you!
@@GretchenGeraghty7 i think many of us recognize your true sentiment behind that was just finding appreciation for your body, but it’s important (imo) to point out when concepts aren’t as graceful or compassionate towards disabled people! our society doesn’t do right by accessibility and i just hope that by recognizing those ableist sentiments in our daily life we can all work on our empathy and understanding
@@GretchenGeraghty7 I appreciate you! Thank you for your comment. You're the best and I have been watching you for years. I know your heart and how compassionate you are! xx lots of love
I relate to the phone thing. Ever since I got a phone call in the middle of the night that my dad was being rushed to the emergency room I always keep my phone on me because I never want to miss a call like that.
