I descended this road last night,in a Volvo bus on the way to Delhi.We did it in the dark. Much of the road is to be replaced by a tunnel which is being constructed now.Add piles of rocks,heavy machinery, narrow muddy sections,and some one way controlled traffic!Plus some drivers who ignore " absolutely no overtaking " signs! Driver sahib made very good time of 13 and half hours from Manali to Delhi,Thanks.

Had been twice on this rout,not as difficult as you mention.Very nice video as well fine coverage and photography.It was more dangerous n difficult way back in 2004.
conditions of the roads are good,theyre well maintained compared to many many developing sections of india.... the rhing which makes it dangerous is dead end cliff,,which the roads are built upon... but there many cases like these in the northeast regions,, anyway nice video

i took this road in a bus coming back from manali in 2006, my first time in india. i was sleeping thanks to fantastic opium and charas. my bus smashed into a concrete abutement and a restaurant. thankfully, due to the early hour, no one was killed or hurt. we waited around for an hour to work out some blame or whatever. finally, no other bus was coming, so we piled back into our bus, front end totally mashed up, jagged metal protruding everywhere.....and drove back to delhi.....but that does not even rank in my top five of scary bus trips in india..

Ken the Coder yeah thank god also that it's not one of those mountains where you make a steep turn away from a deadly ravine every 3 to 5 seconds.. who needs good working brakes on those routes right..
The noise you hear from the brakes is because the brake pads are not making full contact with the brake drum. The Brake drum is not uniformly round, and is probably cracked in several places. If the driver steps on the brakes hard the brakes will fail completely.
watching this video made my heart so tied I was scared for the bus itself omg..I would never do any adventure like this in any road or country he'll no...people are crazy to experience
Looks like just your average everyday Idaho roads by the river, that's all :) With the exception that Idahoan people fly up and down them roads rarley ever using their brakes.
Government must develop this roads. Taxes not important like a gst. ...public safety very important. Indian people travelling 80 % road side only and goods transport also. So frist important good roads and security for people. .. Jai hind. .i love India
