One thing I do like is that Nicktoons Unite reference Jimmy and Timmys previous encounter. So this is technically "canon" to the Jimmy Timmy Power Hour. This is the closest to a Nicktoons Shared Universe/ Crossover Nexus.

What amazes me is that the plot of Nicktoons Unite is actually a lot darker then you would expect from a Nick game. The Syndicate begins a multiversal invasion, draining energy from their respective worlds and oppressing/enslaving the populace, resistance movements are made to fight back, etc. Not to mention that the villains master plan is to make a bomb to destroy the multiverse, while they're safe in their capsules, then rule as gods over the new multiverse once it forms, that's pretty dark for a kids game. I wish they leaned into that side more, also add Avatar Aang and Jenny as founding members of the team, maybe if they ever make a cartoon about it in the style of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Justice League.
About Danny’s silly-looking jog in the console version. I’m no expert, but something is telling me that that’s more so out of some kind of necessity. Danny is a lot taller than the other main characters, and a lot of that height is legs. If he ran with a more full stride, it might not look right for him to be moving at the same pace as some kids and a sponge, especially since the other three seem to already be running about as fast as their comparatively stubby legs can carry them.

I was 21 when this came out, but I watched most of those shows with my little brother and his friends, and helped them beat this game, so it gained a special place in my heart

I think it's safe to say Danny got off easy in the milking franchise department as his third season it's still not as bad as Jimmy Neutron spin off Planet Sheen ; Spongebob with 13 seasons more than any NickToon has with 3 movies ( 2004, 2015 and 2021) 2 spinoffs Kamp Kora and Patrick Show; Fairly with 10 seasons adding new characters Poof , Sparky and Chloe and a new series Odder that both live action and animation . Danny just got one bad season but at least had an ending .
Never heard of Planet Sheen, lack motivation to check it out. I haven't watched every SpongeBob episode, but I hear it got good again in the second half of Season 9. Haven't watched much of The Fairly Oddparents, but Season 1 already gives me a headache. I don't know how that can get much worse.
Ok, ouch. You didn't have to play that cheerful music over the mother dying. That aside, Nicktoons Unite was definitely a Hallmark in my childhood. Thinking about it, can't exactly remember how I got a hold of the game. But as it introduced me to the concept of crossovers, I'm glad I did.
I'd love to see the Nicktoons Unite series make a comeback someday. Maybe add some other shows like Avatar, Invader Zim, The Loud House, TMNT 2012, Glitch Techs, etc.
As someone who recently played Nicktoond Unite DS, the music made up for some of the weird level choices- including an error that kept me from continuing in Retroville. I'm surprised Bluetounge used Movie Cindy as a reference instead of Show Cindy, especially as this was well into Season 2 or 3.
An Awesome video as always!! I have a huge soft spot for the original Nicktoons unite on console. while it is very flawed and it should be played with a couple friends, as a big fan of a lot of these shows I love seeing these characters interact especially since it's all the original voice actors. As for the handheld games, I never really liked GBA Unite, I found it extremely tedious and it's my least favorite of the nicktoons unite series (Unless were counting party blast). The DS Game though is decent, it's a really cool 3D Platformer. But yeah great video and I'm really excited too see you cover the rest of the nicktoons games!! >:3 ❤️

Timmy Turner is always neglected in all of these games and rendition. He literally gets only one level in the volcano island game + a single special level (which all characters get) It's just sad and makes no sense since Danny Phantom is by the same person!!
4:44 I only played the DS game and it was kinda not so great(I actually had to use cheatcodes by the end of it, partially because the Timmy-sections sometimes decided to work and sometimes just didn't), but I still love this game ironically for the premise being the absolute most random and minimal effort-way of doing this crossover. I'm glad that the game where Spongebob gets sick in the final cutscene is a lot higher quality, even tho a lot of copies appearently have a nasty savecorruption-bug that ruined the experience for a lot of people. 5:18 Jesus, what is all this? Basically, I genuinely thought this was unbeatable for a time because the battle does not autoend. You have to deplete his HP enough(I think it was after 3 hits) and then you have to run up to him. I instead continued fighting him because I for some reason could and due to the model of his mech shrinking every time, I got it into the negative where it instead inverse-grew every time until it was so big that I couldn't get out of the pit anymore. It's just kinda dumb. 23:00 When I said that game is higher quality...it was except for that. I blocked that out, lmao. This is just cursed.
A bit off topic but I wonder why Battle for Volcano Island was given the "Spongebob Squarepants and Friends" branding in Australia despite the previous game and the game afterwards having the "Nicktoons" branding. :v

I really liked De Blob 2, and the cutscenes and dialogue in that game were fun, so I'm glad to hear the same heart seems to be present here. Also I was listening to all the Nicktoons crossover games' soundtracks, and if you think this game's DS port had a good OST, wait till you get to the DS version of Globs of Doom.

While Nicktoons untie, has a really good idea of crossover between shows, the gameplay itself was kinda generic. Tbh, out of the nicktoons unite series, Attack of the toy bots on both handheld and home consoles is probably the best one, since it has a lot of good selection of characters from Nick shows. By the way, is it me or has Nickelodeon started getting crossover crazy these days with Nickelodeon racing and that current fighting game that came out.
I have couple of things to say 1. Overall I think that most of the Nicktoons Unite game were a mix bag and really the reason love these games is the character interaction. 2. My biggest criticism towards Battle for Volcano Island is the character selection, it’s not bad they added Patrick, Sandy and Sam however they bench Jimmy, Timmy was only playable in one level and Tucker and Squidward were a waste. I wish that they added Jenny, Dip and Tak and Aang. In fact, how come Avatar never join the game? 3. In retrospect I wish Cartoon Network and Disney Channel did something similar, I mean you could easily make a team around Ben 10, Samurai Jack, Powerpuff Girls and KND. 4. I’m kinda hoping that Nickelodeon and THQ will do like an Nicktoons ultimate Alliance game, The Comsic Shake could easily do this.

The way Nickelodeon has been leveraging crossovers recently I wouldn't be surprised to see it return at some point. I'm curious who actually owns the publishing rights to the Nicktoons Unite series. It doesn't seem like THQ Nordic acquired it when they nabbed the rights to a bunch of Nick games back in 2018, so maybe Nickelodeon themselves are hanging onto it.
personally i wouldnt say that they are anything like the xmen legends and marvel ultimate alliance games at all lol. but you should def play those games when you get the chance :)
