I dont get all the hate for brodie. This show would be terrible if it was just boring, quiet, agreeable conversation. Thats what grip locked is for... whether right or wrong at least hes passionate and makes it an actual debate instead of just a convo amongst friends. Every good talk show needs a villian and im glad hes there!

Love how Chris Clemons actually did ace the hole and no one IN disc golf is even talking about it… plus the dude is a volunteer so who gives af if he dresses up for Star Wars day, we should be thanking the dude for being out there all day not making him feel like ass for having fun 😂

i kinda agree with brodie on the lightsaber thing, like yea cool if its a silver event or a qualifying event for upcoming people, but at an event where its being filmed is kinda weird. obviously the dude probably talked to the td about it and they told him it was okay. and thats all that really matters tbh. will also say i think if like the top 5 fpo land there it gets called inbounds ngl

Brodie! Please read this… For OB lines…. Take the nails out of the colored whiskers used for C1, then nail em in marking OB in 10 foot intervals, and spot paint the nails. This keeps the white stakes outta the way for hitting/stopping discs. THEN have marshals and/or players carry a small length of twine. There will be no moving strings or tripping hazard, etc… Thanks for reading!!

This show is one of the reasons Brodie is awesome! A sleepy panel podcast discussing disc golf is suddenly much more entertaining! Keep up the great work! Best wishes to all you guys!

Lightsaber guy has a name! OB Kenobi. Dammit! It was hilarious and it did not detract from the professionalism or image of the sport at all. Hilarious and not really weird. Millions of Star Wars fan out there. Its a story of good and evil. Loved OB Kenobi. And Brodie if someone ACED the hole and OB Kenobi made it on the footage of the shot it would probably add to the hype. ESPN commentator: "Disc golf ace! And OB Kenobi was there! How cool. May the 4th be with you" Brodie and Trevor just hate Star Wars

Thanks to Rich for pointing out the obvious comparison of a multi-game series generally letting the better team advancing vs the crazy excitement of March Madness one and done. Time and scheduling are currently a problem.

This was a very entertaining episode.

As someone who's color blind, it's harder to distinguish between the green and red lightstaber vs the red and green flags. The flags are much larger so it's way easier to see the color.

Hot take: Cole Redalen quitting mid-round for no reason by way of a giggly Instagram video is a WAY worse look for professional disc golf than a spotter with a lightsaber. 🤷🏻‍♂️

i wish i could commit to anything in my life as hard as brodie commits to his bad takes. he asked what the difference between the spotter and a mascot is? well the mascot is actually paid to be there. as long as they still have volunteers doing all this stuff, let the volunteers have fun once in a while.

There’s a difference between self officiating and competitor officiating. In professional golf, competitors aren’t allowed to call each other on violations. You are required to call yourself. So if disc golf wants to be truly self officiated, people should be calling foot faults on themselves

I understand what Brodie was trying to say about the official with the lightsabers. I think that gets an exception since it is one day a year. However, if you had an official dressing up as a clown every tournament, then yes, that is ridiculous. No hate Brodie, been supporting you since your trickshots at Florida. You got me into ultimate and disc golf.

I agree with Rich (mostly), string can get loose and also affect a disc moving across it either way. Thick painted lines? The NFL uses rather wide painted lines for their sidelines, and the NBA sidelines are not pencil thin either.

I am a big Star Wars fan - I have a Star Wars tattoo. I am against the Jedi spotter, and here's the difference: fan/spectator vs volunteer/staff. The 8 Holes, the Flamingos, the American-flag shorts guy are all spectators, them going wild is good for the sport. Whether you are volunteer or staff, you are acting as part of the tour/course and in my opinion, should act professionally as such. Whether you like Star Wars or not, it looks unprofessional and is taking the sport in the opposite direction. I also dislike the spotters at Maple hole 8 that go hog wild and run across the green in choreographed patterns. Just wave your flag to mark the shot in or out and let the players do their jobs.

100% with brodie. The light Saber thing is cool I guess but if we're aiming to make Disc Golf look more legitimate, and not GIMMICKY... then there's no room for those goofy things from OFFICIALS.

Team Light Sabre! One that one day, and he properly did it. Formula 1 teams have had their pit crews dress in Stormtrooper themed outfits. Various professional sports teams in Baseball and Hockey wear various themed uniforms on special occasions. This one time special item keeps the fun in the sport. Star award is a massively universal main stream pop culture item and not an obscure item only a few would know about.

Brodie’s antagonism is one thing that genuinely makes this show 3 times more entertaining. Also love seeing the perspective of an actual pro who is on side every event.

Foundation: ease sponsor brodie to go though a "how to debate appropriately" course to keep this a debate night and not a fast forward though brodie's shouting match

2 things: If you don't want scripts, stop giving out the questions first. While I love Trevor, the moderator of a debate should never be giving opinions, especially when everyone hasn't had their time.

I feel like the 135ft drive comment didn't make much sense. Emily was playing the hole for par the whole way (which is a good idea considering only 6 players even averaged under par the whole tournament). She had a slip on the wet tee pad and early released the disc causing it to leak OB. She reached the hole in the intended amount of shots, just got punished with some bad luck along the way.

Can we stop listening to people with no experience and just get Rich and Dustin every week. No one cares about random college students.

I can tell Rich hasnt set up a course or prepped for a tournament. Correctly using string is a wonderful thing vs trying to use paint evenly or on growing grass.

Lightsabers and cloaks … another reason PDGA should be amateur DGA The disc golf pro tour is not successful, here are a few reasons why: players, sponsored by disc manufacturers, make millions of dollars while tournaments, sponsored by the same manufacturers, pay out peanuts! It MUST be the other way around. Disc golf manufacturers don’t have professional courses that are designed for spectators and professional camera crews. Announcers never (rarely ever) mention the disc thrown or its specific weight. Announcers are not experts in announcing! Players carry too many discs. There must be a limit and discs must be weighed before each tour event. Baskets and tee pads vary from tournament to tournament. There must be a standard basket and tee pad. The adverts under the basket, those MUST PROMPTLY AND PERMANENTLY BE REMOVED!!! FLAGS ON TOP OF EVERY BASKET SHOULD BE MANDATORY! There are no (almost none) major outside sponsors of tournaments. These are some major problems. Before the tour can attract major sponsors (soft drinks, alcohol, automobile, jewelry, etc.) there must be viewership. In order to increase interest in the sport, pay outs must be much higher. Macbeth got 7 “million$”! That’s “70” 100,000$ payouts! That’s “1” player contract!!! Players need to “earn” their money by winning. Then they can eventually be sponsored by clothing, automobile, alcohol, soft drink etc, manufacturers or other outside sponsors. Viewers and fans of disc golf must demand that all these and more steps be taken to push our sport to the level it deserves to be at.

Yeah, silly things are not tolerated in "professional" sports. It's like if MLB or a college basketball team put someone in a goofy mascot suit and did goofy things. Imagine if that happened? Fans would leave those sports en masse. Brodie, once again, having a horrible take. Kinda like the one about wearing golf clothes before he realized disc golfers have to get in all sorts of weird positions during a round. Imagine if Brodie started skateboarding and telling pro skaters to dress better and act like a boring golfer.

Hot take: Brodie doesn't like Star Wars because he wanted to go as Princess Leia for Halloween but his Mom didn't let him. He got a poor Obi-Wan imitation costume and got made fun of it and now he is scarred for life. "Official Spotter" he isn't a tournament official like other's have said he is a volunteer. You can easily find other instances of people dressing up while volunteering, this guy isn't a rules official, or a score keeper, he is basically a guy that makes an UNOFFICAL judgement call on if a disc is in or out of bounds. I don't understand the obsession with sportscenter. Sure in the 80s and 90s when everyone had cable it was big. I think debate night actually averages more viewers than sportscenter. SC averages less than a million views for the big episodes SVP, and usually the 6PM or 9PM one. Now how many RU-vid or TikTok views are you going to get from an ace highlight? Just as many if not more, and guess what? The comments will be just as stupid. "Oh what about lightsaber guy waving around lightsabers.." the average viewer of Brodie's favorite show Sportscenter is 18-49... most of these people grew up with Star Wars and are familiar with it and are most likely familiar with May the 4th, which is Star Wars day. Sure some people might think it is childish, but honestly Disc Golf is not going to be the PGA tour, nobody wants Disc Golf to be the PGA tour. If you are mocking what he was wearing... umm NFL games? How about your team? You know The Raiders.. who have Raider Nation and dress up in silver and black face paint? Look at a google image search. If you seriously are worried about a guy dress up as a Jedi to call OB, you need to find another hill to die on.

I think graphics being used is an unfair advantage to the rest of the panel. It might be worse than reading a power point word for word. Although it was entertaining not sure how fair it is because not everyone has equal access to such features
