My Blond Chow used to hang halfway out of the car to catch the breeze and with all Her hair pushed back, She looked exactly like a polar bear. It would freak people out,
They are the best mothers. They will not let daddy anywhere near the pups. At five weeks the pups will start fighting for dominance. At six weeks they are barking at the front door already. Badass dogs that must be handled with great care. The creams are usually the most mellow!!
My chow was just like that as a puppy, same color. She is going to be 12 very soon. I love her so and she has been the most wonderful and beautiful girl. I know that she is at the end of a normal chows life span and yes she is showing signs of getting on in years but still is doing ok. I will miss her so much.
My favorite dog i ever owned was my Chow named gold(i think you can guess why we named him "Gold") i was very young and only saw him on the weekends and i would walk him when i could. He was very loving of the family as long as he new you were a friend of the family or a family member he would be charming to you. He would lock down the house making sure no intruders came. I miss him very much.
I've had the privilege of raising these awesome animals, and I can tell you one thing. Almost all of their temperament comes from the manner in which they are raised. There may be a few individuals to the contrary, who for whatever reason, that will turn out wrong. But one thing that you can be sure of, as puppies they will show that tendancy early on. Usually it will be before the 6 week marker for them to be weaned. I really think that they are so- out there that they don't even try to hide it! I know that this may seem strange to a lot of people that they are like that, but from years of ownership and breeding them this is what I have observed. I can honestly say that I have only heard maybe 2 or 3 negative responses from the people that they were either sold or given to, and all of my friends and family that they were given to were just full of nothing but praise for them. I have nothing to gain from saying this as I no longer breed them, but I myself will never have anything but those unique dogs. Besides that, they are also one of the most beautiful dogs that I have ever seen, especially if they are full-blooded, registered, with very old bloodlines. It's also very interesting to trace their lines back to those old ones. So you see that I have nothing but praise and admiration for them, besides the fact that they are wonderful guard dogs for families whom they are devoted to. Most of all, they are not known to be barkers without reason to bark. And THAT I love about them!!
They're better than a husband or wife. I miss mine so much, She was beautiful, loyal and loving. I walked mine without a leash and She never ran off. The only drawback is grooming, at least one hour, everyday to keep them fluffy.
Marise Michael That doesn't make sense. How are they going to climb out if they are lying down? That's like saying I'm going to go driving with no gas.
