In Korea, you are considered one years old as soon as you are born😂. If you want to know your Korean age: 1. If you've had your birthday this year, add one more year to your current age example- 18=19 2. You’ve given the simplest explanation and it’s very accurate. Relating it back to the guys. Since with the exception of JHope (Feb) and Suga (March), the other 5 members are born late in the year (2 in Sept., 1 in Oct., and 2 in Dec) we are use to subtracting 2 years from their birthdays when they say their ages. I will say, though, that lately…especially if they are in the U.S. they will say the ages we (as US citizens - ATL here) are more use to. For instance, Jin will say he’s 29, when in Korea he is 31. He hasn’t had his birthday this year, so +2. Suga says he’s 29, when in Korea he is 30. His birthday was last month, so +1. So, June 13, 2013, day of debut, the ages we relate to: Jin - 20 Suga - 20 J-Hope - 19 RM - 18 Jimin - 17 V - 17 JungKook - 15 Approx age when they joined Big Hit as trainees: RM (2010) - not sure of month so 15 or 16 Suga (2010) - 17 JHope (2010) - 16 Jin (2011) - 18 JungKook (2011) - 13 V (2011) - 15 Jimin (2012) - 16
Not only are they 1 when they are born, everyone turns a year older on January 1st (New Years) not on their actual birthday. So for instance V was born December 30th, 1995 so 2 days later he was considered 2 years old by Korean age but was really only 2 days old.
First off, shout out from Atlanta, GA! I absolutely love yalls energy with going down the BTS rabbit hole! But I think Korean age works like this: when they’re born, they are 1 years old. They don’t do the 0-18 months thing that we do in the states. And then EVERYONE ages at the same time at the start of the year, January 1st. So, Taehyung (V) was born December 30, 1995, immediately 1 years old. Then two days later on January 1st, 1996, he turned two, along with everybody else who was born in the year 1995. A big part of why Jimin and V are so close is because they are both born in the year 1995, and age together as the years go by. You’ll often hear them referred to as ‘95 Liners, because despite being born months apart, they are still considered the exact same age. It can be confusing, and there are even things I’m still not completely sure about, but that’s the gist. They still celebrate the day they were born ON the day they were born, they just recognize the actual age at the start of the year.

Bts changed their image yes but that doesn't mean they quit doing hiphop they still do till now but they don't just focus on one genre they became versatile
BTS are loved by many ppl because they stay humble and stay grounded even after getting very popular. If they had become cocky than we as a fan won’t like them that much.

Definitely proud of these boys. I’ve been a fan since their pre-debut days in 2012 when a friend showed me their vlogs, dance practice videos, song covers, etc. I had this feeling that they were special and different and would do well. Watching them grow since then to where they are now makes me feel like a proud parent ❤ an ARMY of 10 years! I definitely relate to their songs about mental health, it helps me get through my tough episodes.
I enjoyed your reaction. Black Swan is a masterpiece and I highly recommend it. This is a great introduction video. One of the ironic and funny things about this video is that at the end he said "what's next, mars?" and then the next song was My Universe, lol. They are amazing and their music transcends both language and generational barriers (we have 4 generations of BTS fans in my family from 10 to 90 💜).

I started watching the guys back in 2013 but I didn't stan them yet. They didn't have much airtime and as a new kpop fan then, music shows were how I learned and remembered groups. Then in 2014 I went to Kcon, a kpop music festival, and they were one of the acts for day 2. That kcon performance and the War of Hormone MV that came out right after are what made me start stanning the guys. Then I stayed because they were absolutely chaotic. They're still chaotic now, but in a more refined way, I guess.
I know BTS since 2014 (I was 20), I've known kpop before but never got into it at first. In 2014 I found BTS, or BTS found me, at that point I needed themy, they made my life better again. Suddenly I was happy with my life again. And thanks to BTS I became an ARMY and made so many new friends, I often meet with some ARMY friends. Hey guys, I love listening to your banter but it felt like you were missing a lot of info from talking over it. I mean, it's your video to watch as you want, and I don't doubt that you're interested or anything. It just made it hard to follow along when I'm listening to two or three sets of voices.
There were a bit more than 200 people on that free concert at the Troubador because there were so many fans waiting outside they gave out around 200 more tickets. When the concert started, people was still on the sidewalk so they ended up opening the doors until they maxed out the venue (a bit under 500). There are still articles online and a cute video here on RU-vid showing some of those early ARMY!
I never knew about BTS until June/July last year, when I first heard of a Korean Boy Band a couple of years ago I instantly thought of Gangnam Style, and I was like NO PLEASE I can't go through another faze like that, I judged them straight away without listening to their music and I regret it majorly now. But SUGA said it doesn't matter when you started listening to our music because on that first day that you did, then that was the day that we debut for you. I haven't nowhere caught up yet with everything they have done but every day I enjoy learning more and more and BTS have help me smile and laugh again, and that was something I hadn't done in years, when a Korean person is born they a glasses as 1yrs old because they glass 9months growing in the womb as a year of life, then on the first of January they are another year old they dont always go by their birthdays, honestly you are better to google it, it will be explained better just ask ( why is a Koreans age older than an international age ) There next comeback is on the 10th June with a new album 💜🔥💙

Ohhh there's 2022 update of this but it's okay. And regarding the 200 ppl attended in their concert, some of them are still in this journey, I've seen their comments in some yt videos and twt posts. 3:39 I listened to a lot of 1tym and Epik High as a kid so let's see...For 1tym, I suggest "Hot", "1tym", and "Without You". I know you didn't ask for Epik High, but they're good too hahaha. So for Epik High, try "Umbrella" and "Fly". Also add in Seo Taiji and Boys with "I Know" and "Come Back Home". A lot of musical artists influenced BTS so I can't list them all atm but these three are a good tiny start I think. I think they're all consider korean hip-hop and I listened to them back in the 90s. Epik High is still active. They just did a small tour in the US, but I missed out on the concert near me lol. Tbh I think that "Kpop History in 20 Minutes" by DKDKTV is a pretty good watch (although super fast and intro level hahaha) for people unfamiliar with the history of Kpop. I recommend it, even if it's on your own time.
I got to meet Danny at my old job back in 2016! I used to deal table games and a friend/producer of his was at my blackjack table. Danny came by to say something to him and I recognized him but I wasn't sure because I never saw kpop celebs at my work. Then when he walked away I said, "Your friend looks like this guy from a show called Danny From LA." The dude gets wide eyed and says, "That IS Danny from LA." After that's when he told me that he was the producer. Then he called Danny to have him come back to play at my table. I took their money though. 😂😭 That was such a great night at work. And I'm so happy it happened before I left because I signed the early out sheet that day. I got a photo with both of them, too. Haha. I may have also screamed and fangirled and freaked out half of the casino, too. Oops.

I was a fan since 2013 as well but never could afford traveling abroad to their concerts BUT they made me start saving up my money and keep working my best so now after almost 10 years imma imigrate to South Korea in 2023 ^^ Tho i always root for every hardworking kpop group and idol but ngl , never could amaze or motivatw me as much as bts did 🔮 I finally could get rid of my depression after 9 years and go for my dreams so saying they saved ma life isn't just talk ^^

Pensacola, Florida, my dudes. I’m a 34 year old mom of two. BTS has gotten me through some of the hardest moments in the last two years I’ve been a fan. There’s an amazing docuseries called Rise of Bangtan. It follows them through their years from the start and is extremely well done.
You guys should definitely react to Run BTS or just fun clips from them in general. I personally only listen to like 3 or 4 of their songs(which are great, they're so stinkin talented), but their personalities and brotherhood is what made me a fan. They're really funny and enjoyable to watch! Suga`s my favorite 😊

KOREAN AGE is usually 1 yr older than international age. Cause they are already 1 yr old when they are born. They age during new years but still celebrate their birthdays.
In korean age you are older than your current age, that means when Jungkook join big hit at age 14(as mention in the doc), he's actually 13 in international age...

First, all you need to do is add 1 to the current year, then subtract the year of your birth, and you will get your Korean age. Second, if you're not good at calculating, you can just follow this: If your birthday has passed: Your Age + 1 = Korean Age. If your birthday hasn't passed yet: Your Age + 2 = Korean Age. Watching from Norway 😊 Been a BTS fan since February 2015. (It was a rather memorable couple weeks of midterms so i remember it rather vividly) They had been catching my eye for a couple months as good performers at the end of the year shows, but I didn’t really fall down the rabbit hole until the “BTS ‘Skool luv Affair’ intro comeback trailer” came across my RU-vid. I immediately had to dive deeper into their music.
I didn’t manage to see them live until summer 2016. I kept missing them. When they were in Europe I was in the US, when they were in the US I was in Norway and Japan, and when I was in Japan I had just missed them 🤣
To clear up the age thing, it's not like a 4 year difference. In Korea they count the time that a baby is in the womb as a year making babies a year old once their born. On top of that, they don't grow a year older on their birthdays but everyone grows a year older together on New Years. They still celebrate their birthdays, they just don't think of it as I'm a year older. That's why in some of the videos where they talk about their age, they have a Korean age and an International age. Basically, Korean age is just a year older than International age.
BTS debuted in 2013 and i became a fan in 2015 and 2015 was the year i believe when BTS really just started gaining international fans as they started coming in many yt videos where they introduced kpop music to listeners and coincidently my first song of BTS was Dope where he says ''welcome is this your first time with BTS''.... and to answer your question i'm from Pakistan which is in South Asia, also idk who said the previos intro video was wrong but i dont believe so becuse the previous one focused mainly on the members but this one is more about their evolution and success

Korea does have a different age system. So when you’re born in SK you’re already one years old. And it will change on New Year’s Day, like they add another year to your age on January 1st. They do celebrate their birthday, it’s just there age isn’t calculated on there birthday. So I’m 27 now, but if I went to Korea I would be 29 there.
Korean age starts in the womb, so everyone is 1 year as they are born. While they have their birthdays, they all turn a year older on new years regardless if they are born January 1st or December 31. It all has to do with their culture and how they use honorifics when talking to people older than themselves. When Koreans meet for the first time, they will always ask for the age so they know how to address eachother
