This is Superman, what Snyder never understood or just refused to see. He's the best of humanity and he challenges them to be what he sees in them because as this comic so beautifully shows he loves humanity and is proud no matter how many mistakes are made.

If a light hearted Superman was in demand why Superman Returns make less than MOS and Ironman did.That means sit down somewhere with ur ignorant Zack hate.

@zoeibbotson4064 10 месяцев назад
@@newagerise4638 I don't hate Snyder and I'm not ignorant, it's both petty and a weak arguement to claim I do. The best Superman stories both in comics and adaptation are ones that challenge his light heartedness and morality, Man of Steel was lazy and likely made as much as it did due to the action and spectacle. Superman vs the elite and Superman man of tomorrow are vastly superior films because they understand the core of the character, Snyder wanted to make his movies dark and edgy but compromised the core of the characters to achieve this. That is why I dislike man of steel, it's a poor representation of the character - a weakness of writing born of misunderstanding the character.

Except he can be very boring at times. Not every Superman story has him flying around smiling and crying at the world, just being wholesome and such. He has stories where he has doubt about his place in the world, where he’s angry, depressed ect. And IMO the best Superman media outside of comics isn’t Reeves flying around being a boyscout. It’s Smallville(yeah he wasn’t Superman), JLU Cadmus Arc, Superman & Lois, Zack Snyder’s Superman. I like when Superman has an edge to him. People need to get over themselves, these characters have many different interpretations. Some people like the overly joyful Superman, some like Superman having a bit of an edge. Even with both companies shoving the Multiverse down everyone’s throat, you still have people saying this is how Superman should be and should never be deviated from. This is the perfect Superman.

Superman *should* feel like a bit of a dork, a little bit cheesy, because he's just so damn sincere, that in a pop culture overflowing with edgy, subversive content, he's just some nice old school wholesomeness. And sometimes that is a bit cheesy and a bit dorky. But it still makes you smile.

You know I'm really glad I've been seeing a recent resurgence of interest in Superman. I think it partially maybe because we're just exposed to so much bad news nowadays. Climate change, poverty, war, and just the overall knowledge that so many of our politicians and leaders are failing us really bums people out. It's so easy to just give up hope and become a doomer. But Superman reminds us that even he can't solve every problem or save everyone, but he always tries his best because he knows that if we all give up on fighting for truth, justice, and the good in people, nothing will get better for certain. And if we all could be like Superman in terms of morals and acting upon those morals, the world would be so much better. That's why his character is timeless and one we should all try to emulate.

For me, the thing that makes supes and batmans friendship interesting is the fact that, Batman feels Bruce Wayne as his mask, while Batman is his true self, and on the other hand, Clark is just clark. Being superman for him is a way for him to help people, a way for Clark Kent to help people. 2 total opposites that in my eyes really compliment each other, which makes their friendship made sense

This made me tear up a little bit. You beautifully encapsulated everything I love, not only about Superman, but what originally made comics so near and dear to my heart to begin with. Thank you for this video, you managed to reaffirm something that I have felt that has been missing (mostly thanks to the industry being coopted by preachy mouthbreathers who detest the very work they're creating) from comics and the "fans" (its been harder and harder to find people who are legitimately fans of the books and not as a consequence of the movies) who now utilise the medium as a vitriolic platform for belittling and beleaguering anyone and anything that doesn't perfectly fit into the pidgeonhole of whatever checklist of personal beliefs they've had uploaded to their hive mind that day. So thank you for showing me that true love for the media that has given me so much enjoyment and escapism from my personal woes still exists. I wish you all the best for the future, not just with your channel, but in every aspect of your life. May it be full of possibilities and happiness. With love.

That is a beautiful story indeed. And I’m glad someone else loves it as I do. That said, there’s no need to put what Snyder did, down. Snyder’s Superman was not dark or edgy. His WORLD was dark and edgy much like ours. And Clark is faced with very tough choices in those movies. Yet at his core, Snyder’s Superman is hopeful, kind, heroic. He looks for guidance, from his father, from his mother, from Lois, from a priest. Even when he meets Batman, he tries to talk things out with him first. it’s a Superman at his beginnings. He struggles, loses his father and keeps trying to do the right thing. Even the possible Apokolips on Earth Superman is a Superman that was pushed to the edge. Zod pushed him to the edge as well. Was everything that Snyder did perfect? No. He made the same Superman we all know but in a realistic setting. I’m sick and tired of people putting Snyder down when I saw with my own eyes that he loved Superman and had a path, a journey for him but you all wanted a realized Superman from the get go.

I always thought Allstar was the best depiction of him. The confrontation with Lex at the end is perfect, it sums up why they're perfect foils of each other. They're both people with gifts that mark them a super in some respect. But Lex is so caught up in his own superiority and need to prove that to the rest of the world, that he couldn't get out of his own way long enough to do anything that mattered. Whereas Kal see's the value in everything and commits himself to the service of others, because that's what matters.

@rokaq5163
@rokaq5163 День назад
Superman started as an overpowered superhero intended to fulfill the fantasies of kids with his strength, but also teach them a moral lesson. However, we can chisel out that initial intent a bit more just by hammering down this simple fact: "Superman is the personification of the best of humanity." And, really, his powers are just there to allow the guy to do everything he can, to maximize his potential to do good. They are a catalyst to the underlying intentions of an honest, caring man. The best of humanity isn't found in the grandiose, in the creation of great monuments or the making of historical feats. The best of humanity is found in those little moments: a sincere conversation with a friend about something troubling them, a pat on the back and a heartfelt "you're doing good" from your boss, a couple laughing at something only the two of them know, a mother kissing an injury on her child's knee, a father telling their kid how proud they are of them... Superman is as big as his heart, not his powers. Even in the face of absolute adversity, even when there seemingly is nothing to hold on, he should be the light that shines through. Not because of his strength, his speed or his prowess, but because of his immutable love for life.

So glad somebody else gets it. Superman tackles pretty much everything and is considered overpowered - but his level of antagonists is damn-near cosmic level in strength/power or have abilities that can change the world as we know it. That's the conflict part of it. Superman isn't just the "super." He's more the "man" than he's accredited. It's his heart and compassion that makes Kal-El one of my favourite heroes for the past 50+ years. As for killing Zod? He did that in the comics, too. It's the why he did it and what it did to him, afterwards that counts. He may have a "no killing" rule, but he learned a hard lesson that there are times when you need to do things you are against if the innocent are going to survive. War taught me that part. I can only strive to be half the man this fictional character is written, but I think it's a good standard to uphold. >steps off of the soapbox

There's a starman waiting in the sky He'd like to come and meet us But he thinks he'd blow our minds There's a starman waiting in the sky He's told us not to blow it 'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile He told me Let the children lose it Let the children use it Let all the children boogie

This is the superman we need more of, especially in this day and age where people have seemingly lost hope. kindness, and empathy in these extremely turbulent times. It's an absolute shame how they've been treating superman comics in recent years and they could have fixed this through Jon but they didn't. I just hope more stories, more characters end up being inspired by THIS superman and not the dark and gritty superman that's been shoved down our throats for the last 10 years.

For someone who can fly across the universe in less in a second, superman is very down to earth, I like that, he represents what we all should be, good honest and kind individuals who will help, even the smallest act of kindness is enough to change the world for better

I've realized that Clark is very clumsy because, as Clark, the world to him is like a wet paper bag due to his strength. He always has to be extra careful not to break anything or hurt anyone because of that! As Superman, there is no reason to hide his powers, of course, so he is able to use his strength freely.

Yes. And as amazing as "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow" is, that is the origin of modern edgy Superman. Alan Moore decided that Superman's deepest desire is not to protect Earth and make people smile and be with Lois, it's to be on Krypton with no responsibilities

Honestly I completely agree with you but although I do think there are some positive aspect’s to snyder’s version. We are most used to a fantasy pitch perfect world for superman but in his movie it was a lot more realistic and with him being the only person able to stop Zod and after begging him to stop he had to kill him to save a family, and I felt its him having to make the tough choices, yet I still felt this version came out as a symbol and light of hope.

nah I would 100% that point of view. I understand why the people that like it, like it. I just personally would prefer a Superman that pushes hope rather than power or strength. Someone who can inspire and I just didn't feel that with Snyders version tbh

Not a fan of the Snyder-verse Superman. But what you showed here is the Superman of my childhood just being good because it's the right thing to do. Choked me up as well. Thank you.

I mean I agree that this look is cool too, but I dunno man, comics have always been about showing different versions of characters. Snyder had his vision and I thank him for exploring it. I am super excited to see this other perspective on screen, but i dont think the analysis should always about "this other bad, this one good". But good vid man, might take a look at the comic if I have the opportunity

I heard this somewhere else, but it's actually thematically appropriate that Superman is usually the one who ends up beating Darkseid in the end. Not necessarily because he's the strongest, but because there's just something special about the abstract concept of evil being beaten by the good in all of us. Because Superman *is* goodness. He's the type of person who would save a kitten from a tree, answer Christmas cards from strangers, and save the world all in a single afternoon. Not because he's strong enough or fast enough, but because he's compassionate enough. That is Superman. That is Clark Kent.

Beautiful video man. I for the longest time saw Superman as someone who was great but not as deep as characters like Batman or Spider-Man. Now I know that not only is he a very deep character. But probably one of the most important for all of us to recognize in our lifetime.
