Mike Tyson vs. Pinklon Thomas, billed as Hard Road to Glory, was a professional boxing match contested on May 30, 1987, for the WBA and WBC heavyweight championships. #miketyson #knockouts #boxing
I used to love watching Mike fight. He fought on HBO before pay-per-view was a thing. It was so exciting to wait all day just for a 30 second fight. I really miss those days.
So do I.dad would have a cookout with all kinds of food and everything else.it would be an all day affair waiting for the fight.the announcer would say don't go to the bathroom or the refrigerator because you might miss the fight, and it would be a one round fight.iron Mike changed the whole sport of boxing.
Thomas was holding his own until Tyson decided to shift a couple of gears and end the fight. Tyson was probably the most explosive puncher the heavyweight division has and will ever see. This explosiveness combined with his terrific handspeed made virtually unbeatable, that is, of course, until his penchant for drugs, alcohol and bad women, ruined his boxing career.
The loss of his mentor was too soon & devastating for him. As “brutal” as Mike was he was vulnerable & misused without his guidance and most importantly love.
That was one of Mikes most vicious KO’s. Thomas had a good chin and tried but no one could take those consecutive punches coming like that. I don’t know how he stood up as long as he did.
Lived in Brooklyn when Mike was coming up. He was a hometown hero, everyone knew his story. He was such a student of the game. The most no-bullshit boxer, ever--- fearless, ferocious, utterly focused, and pure. Had Cus lived, Iron Mike would have been the undisputed Greatest and would have been undefeated---- 60-0? 70-0?
Iron Mike Tyson is fixin to destroy Jake Paul this is no longer Tyson vs Paul this is fresh out of prison Iron Mike VS Jake Paul and if you’re any kind of a Tyson fan you know how lethal Iron Mike was his first bout after getting released from prison
Can’t imagine being in a boxing match with a man who ever hit, it’s like the head of a sledge hammer slamming into you. Head, jaw, face, liver, kidneys, stomach..any where and every where, and you look at Tyson in front of you and he’s not stopping… as hard and strong as Mike Tyson was and is, how did any of the opponents he faced not end up dead on the canvas? Every solid punch was like being in a 75mph auto accident without airbags!
A guy that can almost go 6 rounds with Mike deserves respect. Jake Paul, on the other hand? He better be able to dance around for at least that and hope Mike gets tired. To me that bout will be like an ant crawling up an elephant’s leg with rape on its mind.
wow......I forgot about this fight.......Thomas might have been able to win this if he had been able to move more.......oh well, the rest is history as they say........
