The way Legend has his Steam library collections set up when you can see it on his desktop at the end had me in tears haha. "Bad Total War Games", "Not Worth Playing", "Complete Trash" haha

Me: "This should be good, I got twenty minutes before work." Me 15 minutes later: "Why isn't this anywhere near- oh. Oh dear me." Legend of Total War is one of few youtubers who I think has indisputably earned his channel name.

That ending triggered my PTSD. I would sometimes get the same result when fighting long battles. It was soul crushing.

The shooting bug with welf archers is very old dating back to WH2 atleast and applies to other units like empire huntsmen as well. You have to press the hold/stop button and give the unit 3-5 secs to line themselfs up, then they start shooting. They somehow maintain the running (most of the time symbol too) while standing still. This happens even to "fire whilst moving" units. Pretty annoying, probably never will be fixed, as it has been there for years. Keep up the nice disaster vids, really enjoy seeing these. :)

I had the EXACT same thing happen to me in WH2 when playing with Hight Elves against dwarves. I had a battle against 4 dwarf armies which took 6 attempts to win, and when I won, it CTD. I actually stopped playing WH2 for about a month after that. I understand your pain.

This video has two amazing things: Legend managing to defeat the AI despite being heavily outnumbered and with the game bugged as hell, and the opportunity to see his legendary desktop, with more game than I've ever played. I love this

I loved this battle, It was so intense. Probably the best video I've seen for myself on this channel. Not because of your struggles, but mostly cause anything is possible if given the time. Extremely frustrating especially with how long it took, but this proofs that you can win a battle as long as you take the time and isolate the enemy and kill them off one by one, Granted it won't always work, but I've learned a ton from this video and I loved it, Thank you for this one.

I looked at the duration. I'm going to have to watch this one during my work day, but it will undoubtedly be worth the watch. These are always painful but fascinating.

That dragon bug reminds me of playing Durthu, he just refuses to use Lamentation of Despair like 80% of the time.

There is a very common and persistent bug in the game that units will remain in "movement stance" even though they are not actually moving. You can tell they are in this state by the fact that their unit card has the movement icon (">" or ">>") above it despite them not moving. This has a huge affect on ranged units, and seems to happen more often than not after every order (attack or move order, doesn't seem to matter). I always spam "Esc" whenever I want my ranged units to stop moving and actually fire for this reason.

I think Legend should send that save file to CA so they can take a look at the breath attack bug.

Funny thing is I haven't suffered these bugs! I was really annoyed alongside you bro. But yeah my battles aren't that long either longest was 53 minutes till I'm decimated.

I was once playing a huge battle where I got ambushed by 4 other armies while playing Tomb Kings. Anyone who's played tomb kings knows that before you start getting your huge construct doomstacks online, most of your damage comes from your ranged units. So I'm chugging along, corner camping, kiting, lord sniping, and microing Arkhan around and all that. I'm fighting this battle for a long time and I finally kill a ton of enemy units battering my front line. I ran out of ammo for my casket of souls units (I had 4 of them) and my ushabti were dry as well, but managed to mop up the last of the enemy units. I breath a sigh of relief, but I'm like "why am I not getting the victory button?" Then I looked at the minimap, and saw that there was still a whole army coming. I'd made the army near my units crumble, but the other army was still fresh, and all of my ranged units were dry. That battle was hell, not just because it was an endless deluge of chaff, but because just as I breathed a sigh of relief, I realized it wasn't over. It felt like when you finally beat that boss in a video game, only to realize there is a second stage. I ended up having a major setback after that because my army was so exhausted (I lost most of my frontline units and had to re-recruit them) and I even ended up losing some rank 9 tomb guard halberd units AND my rank 9 tomb scorpion.

It'll remain in history as Great Battle of the Bugs !

Having the game crash after a battle like that is like saying "it was just a dream" at the end of a good movie

Happened to me on my Legendary Kairos campaign during the ROC. I had to fight 4 armies of Cathay (without using infinite magic) and I had to cycle charge the Lords of Change and Kairos for like half an hour to kill the last army and a half. Then the game froze. It was so crippling that I couldn't play for a week.

I think breath attack or archers who don’t shoot are the same problem… terrain obstruction! Even the slightest bump on the ground blocks it, that’s why also breath attack didn’t work, even if they are in the sky. There is something wrong with the coding of missile shots and terrain obstruction. That’s also why the first successful breath attack worked way later after command order, it just acknowledged the order soon as the terrain was slightly sloped and clean of any obstacles or bumps. Pretty sure it’s the problem, CA must check their obstruction coding, something changed compared to wh2, and it’s way worse than it should be. Everyone complains on forums about missiles who refuse to shoot, seems like breath attack can suffer the same curse in some circumstances. GG btw, extremely long fight, probably the record. But it was well worth watching. Considering the circumstances it’s an amazing job legend did here, despite the end (which was pure gold, so sry legend lol). GG ! 👌

Did experience the same thing with Warlock Engineers Doomrocket as you did with the Breath Attack. The icon was just hovering over the unit forever, but he never shot the rocket. The enemy unit was in full view and flat surface, but alast.... no rocket

i love when archers didnt want to shoot and after he click on them the archer say "we never miss ! " .... ye if you dont shoot you cant miss ;D

Amazing fight as always! Just one small thing. Personally i found it a bit hurtful to watch the casting of the second dwellers below. There were some hills and mountains that could be used especially to blob the enemy in a huge group. I know its kind of hard with the amount of ranged units, but the ai is especially bad at handling those areas creating huge opportunities to smash tons of damage. But besides that, props for the long yet amazing safe!

this is a 2h battle I had it running in the background of my own campaign. This battle got me through an entire bretonnia early game of farming uprisings and you're still in this one battle

Still haven't purchased WH Total War 3..... I feel justified when I see shenanigans like this. Phew, what a battle, but seriously that amount of bugs can put a huge damper on the experience

Oh the pain the pure pain that almost anyone that played total war game has encountered

I got the same ending in my hardest "battle" in tw:wh2. I had an army with a archmage (with bad equipment, but on a dragon) and 1 unit of skyhawks and used forced march to lure in a weak nearby dwarfen army. That army came, but not before ungrim ironfist with 10 units of slayers and 9 other units. It took me 70 minutes(mostly in fast forward), much cheese and a terrible ai to kill all slayers. I had to take a long break to continue.

The biggest update yet is about a tenth of a BG3 update in twice the time. Remember how within like 1 month of release they put out thst 5000 bug fix patch? And since them whilst squashing hundreds or thousands of bugs every update have also been adding new content to the game, including a full on epilogue with v oice acting and some of the most complex triggers for who will be there in the whole game?

I’m not often motivated to comment but that was an epic marathon battle. After the end I would have not turned the game on again for several weeks, time needed to get over it

the archers not shooting seems like a terrain bug ive had them shoot at hills thinking it was flat terrain its weird

All of that, over 2 hours of fighting hard against 4 stacks of Dwarves, earning the win, only to be met by the sourest of defeats, a crash to desktop. I can only imagine the soul-crashing agony that would be felt at that. Legend continues to be a legend at this game, but the game doesn't play fair, it's downright dirty. RIP 2 hours of time spent on a near impossible battle.

The world is upside down when dragons refuse to breath fire on dwarves and elves don't shoot arrows at them.

that was beautiful. after convincing yourself you had to do enough damage on the first battle and then fall back to heal and win the second, you win the first only to have to client crap out on you. *Italian chef kiss* Bravo
