I am with you here, Mike! I have started watching your videos about 4-5 months ago. Naturally, YT algorithm suggested other content creators along the way. I had a feeling for quite some time now that your ideas got repackaged and posted, on several occasions, as "unique" by bigger creators a few days after your videos hit... No worries man, your decks and deck ideas are great.
Hey. I agree with you here. I saw your Bronco video when it first dropped, and my first thought when seeing it on the pro tour was "Nice. That's Mike's combo."
I was on the arena beta testing and they only had 2 sets on all of the beta, one of which was Ixalan. I made a deck using curiosity and merfolk with invasion and some control pieces. A month later the curiosity deck (very different from mine since it included all of standard) won the standard finals. I figured no one would believe that I was the first one to make that deck, some of you may still not believe me. But it is cool to see a pro have the same deck idea as you.
Nice!!!! And agreed - I’m sure if you had posted it back then to a few thousand views and DMed people being like check out this original combo, you would have flexed a little when it took off later!!! :) haha
Don't let them stop you feeling excited about your idea presented in the highest level tourney, regardless you are the first or not. Your contribution to this card game is much more than one Bronco deck.
Curious if anyone played the combo during the early access event. In time most combos in a meta will get found, Analyst took awhile to pop off. Plus, after a combo is found there is many variants utilizing it. You did share the knowledge before you posted video so will give you credit for finding the gold vein, but now everyone is going to mine it. It is why I check out your content, saves me the time of digging through my card collection and finding interactions. Kudos on your dedication to the game and trying new things. I am still weary of Greedy Gambit, but can see the benefits in a fast aggro plan, wish the bats had haste though.

Hey Mike, when I was introduced to your channel by another your fellow creator buddy, I instantly download all those cool decks you create with awesome cards from the latest otj series. I'm all with you on that good idea is good idea. And creation is always the king. Creation is what makes MTG so fun as well. I hope you later can be recognized by the pro using a similar deck or other creators to back you up, but even no, at least now there's no any tother timestamps that can disprove you as the original combo creator. Yeah, big creators almost never play junk and just use decks that everyone knows already, like endless loop - i saw it once in 300 vievers channel after i met it in-game and absolutely skipped all other videos about it, glad that you made into this set history, you deserve all credit for bronco combo

My dude I would have been heated about that "18 land mono red deck" comment too. I've watch a bunch of content creators, some/most probably bigger then you, and you are hands down my favorite. I am not surprised by the "backlash" but I am surprised on how hardcore the backlash was. You keep making cool shit and being excited about it man.
I saw people in comments of recent videos arguing about the origin of this deck, and I remembered that you had shown us this deck over a week ago, I've been trying to make this deck consistent ever since.. tried it without the combo, and load the deck with prototype and adventures, and delney for double triggers 😂
Yeah - my version was pretty high on untapped decks for that one (lots of people were playing it) which was nice! :))). But I wasn’t going to (and didn’t) go around commenting on those creator’s videos with the same Decklist about it. But if the Decklist did well in a pro tour (like this combo did) you better believe I would have said something! Haha
Hi Mike, I defended you in that thread you showed, pointing out what you are explaining here. The 18 lands comment hurt me too. I do not enjoy playing aggro, I only do to learn the weaknesses. I find your aggro decks very creative with a lot of decision making. I enjoyed your midrangey decks like the toughness and this combo, that I adapted right away until everybody jumped on the bandwagon. Keep up the good work and don't be disheartened!

Oh man ... I feel this one >< There is no way to know whether or not this pro saw your idea and shoved it in to their own Orzhov package or not, but regardless it's nice to see the same 3 card combo in action doing well in a pro tour. You are looking for street cred for being the first to post this three card combo, but until it did well in a pro tour a few days later the community at large didn't notice >< and now everyone is posting the deck and playing it. Feels bad. I'm sure if any of the other CC's had posted the combo first before the pro tour they would give themselves a shout out too.
Yeah - that’s my main point. If one of these creators had posted it as a unique original combo they thought up before anyone else (including before pros submitted) they would have mentioned it for sure! Especially since that’s how I advertised the original video haha. So was a bit shocked by the negativity in response. Oh well! :)
It would be amazing if the pro came out and squashed all the haters by revealing their deck inspired by your video 😂 But for real, love your channel, love that you post decks no one else is playing. Ive used some of your ideas to evolve decks of my own even (another aggro player here!) Keep up the great content!
No one can argue that MM was first. Could 2 people come up with the same idea on their own?.. keep your head up. MTG arena community can be as soft as wet cotton. Ashlizzle claims the Cookies deck so I don’t know what the difference would be. Regardless, you both do really well and I love it.
Yeah - I mean my whole brand is making cool original combos/decks every day. I’m not like the other creators that feature other people’s decks (which is still a fine approach people enjoy as well). But given how I initially had branded the prior video, the idea I wouldn’t at least flag this seems crazy haha
To me, the argument against you effectively necessarily being the inspiration for the pros' deck is two fold: 1. it's just easy to assume that someone else thought of it independently. The MtG community is not a tiny land. Even between 200 pros, I would expect someone to have thought of it. 2. the differences seem quite substantial for something to just put up between two days and send it to a tournament. I must say though, it is a really nice feeling to be ahead of the curve, and I would also want to know if I would have managed to inspire a pro to make a deck based on something I have made.
Agreed it could have been made separately. But I could see it being added to an already existing Bronco shell too, so early in a new set (and I wasn’t aware he had talked about it either way at the time). But presumably it was made separately here at this point. Still don’t think it means I cannot flex a little when it does well on pro tour and I posted it before anyone (branding it in that original video as an original never before seen combo - which it was!) :)
Both you, Ace MTG and Ashlizzle are my favorite content creators and come up with new decks or tweaks on decks all the time. All the more impressive the amount of content you put out, with a new deck almost every day. I think it's entirely possible that the pro was also thinking of this idea before you actually posted it, since they do want those insane amount of games playtesting the deck, but in my opinion it's irrelevant. This specific deck you came up with, for sure is entirely yours and it's clear to me that you were not inspired by a deck that already existed at that time. Why should people take offense when you are proud of that? Keep up the good work!
ty for sharing ur input Mike! honestly im so disappointed. the comment isnt even there anymore. i love ashlizzle and her content but lately she's been a little more temperamental in her videos (most noted in her recent dragons and anvil videos) where she outright was talking badly about youtube viewers. RU-vid is largely where i view most of my content (i work a full-time job and watch YT when im doing things around the house). I hope burnout isnt starting to affect her and she takes breaks as needed. MTG can be toxic as heck so its important to take breaks bc content covering can only be that much more stressful.

Weird response from Ashlizze, not sure why she would chose to phrase it that way, has a sort of "dont speak peasant" vibe to it. Completely with you on this though. It's impressive (And apprecitaed) for a creator to come up with something new every single day. I get the impression that these days that a lot of mtg creators wait for the latest cool deck to pop up then build it = views. Yourself and Swayze are keeping me in the game at the mo lol. imo he saw the combo (or someone sent it to him) and it seemed like a genius surprise attack he could run with,

Disgusting, but not all that surprising given it's the internet. Such a shame it got nasty, right off the bat, probably only fueling the rest. Everyone here was happily exclaiming "That is Mike's combo!" when we saw it at the pro tour. 7 cards; the CORE of both decks is nearly identical (Mike had 1 more g4t). Upgrades; peacekeeper replaced bat and seraph replaced harvester. The filler white cards are suggesting color is mainly for skrelv protection and the sideboard of graveyard hate. We got your back Mike!

As a content creator, I understand that you want credit but to be fair, credit probably goes to the Designers of MTG since they created the cards and I'm sure through play testing some version of this combo was probably there.
Ultimately I just didn’t like how the exchange went where I flexed a little that I had made it earlier. My brand is making unique/original decks, so the idea I can’t point out I made the cool combo that was currently taking off before, without a bunch of hate just didn’t sit right with me!
As long as you have the earliest receipts you are the creator. Simple as that. You planted the flag on unclaimed land if another explorer was also exploring like the pro but did not to plant his flag for competitive reasons that’s their issue. No flag no claim to land.

That was my thought - like one of these creators posts it and brands it in the video as a cool never before seen original combo days before anyone else, and then someone uses it in pro tour and does well - you creators wouldn’t say anything?! Lol. Yeah right.

So I like to watch these videos to see what I might come across when playing, and by far your the one who picks out stuff no one is using and makes something. Yeah the top Streamers seem to share decks at times or all pop in the same day or so, not with MM. Not that I play many games each day but I try to finish all the challenges or quests for the day. To date not seen the black and white version of this combo, but ran into it twice the day after the video came out, and saw it again last night. Not that it matters but saw here first. It's like the Red,White, Green Discover deck, not sure if it has a name, I had been working on a version of this with Rocco and Kutzil, but it hardly ever worked, died to fast to mono Red and boros. The I saw MTG Malones video on the deck and it had Lockdowns and Elesh Norn's which changed everything. It needed that turn 3 or 4 board wipe to take out the trash so the deck could pop. I had tried Brothershood End, but it did nothing to Roots which is where I gave up, because Roots became a thing for a bit when I was working on it. I still play this deck daily with Rocco but you gotta know when not to play him, but when it pops it pops and knowing you had that idea means a lot at times.
I have seen your Bronco combo deck when you first posted it. thought it was super janky ahah at the end of the day, Steel Seraph was the missing piece... still, we know you did it first.

You know what I find most concerning about the comments against you? And really, society in general. And maybe you know this already, since you have a law background. But I'm AMAZED how many people not only rush to a judgement about whether or not you created this combo or not, but VORACIOUSLY attack/defend/write paragraphs around their point of view. Ashlizzle isn’t good. She’s a net decker. She doesn’t brew like Mike, she just reuses other people’s ideas, makes clickbait videos and trades on her female attributes to get views.

First place I saw the combo was here. People are just dumb and would rather lift themselves up than an amazing creator like you. Even though you might not pull the same kind of numbers as other creators but they're still intimidated for some reason. So weird.
I can definitely see it both ways- maybe the pro independently thought of the combo. But I don’t think it’s crazy to think your videos have influenced this pro or others (perhaps in less obvious ways). There are only so many content creators focused on standard format. The YT algorithm strongly pushes your videos. If I were training for a big event I would want to watch as much OTJ standard content as possible. There are only a handful of creators who are known for running innovative deck ideas and you are one of them (Ashlizzle is also one). Don’t let the YT trolls get you down.

I know this comment doesn´t quite fit in here but I wanted to ask when you will do an update on the gruul deck you made 2 weeks ago? the one which makes it to mythic easy. you wanted to add the golvein hydra and great train heist Regarding the video: this is what I hate about youtubers/content creators/influencers who just net deck and copy everything. they tend to defend themselves and other people in their bubble. and no hate from my side either, it´s just weird. i mean you have proof due to the time stamps and your chats in discord. and if people have proof that someone had the deck idea before you why don´t they show their proof? they are all just mad that the only way they can reach mythic rank is by net decking whilst you, a smaller content creator "beats everyone" with original no rare decks. like i said, this occurs everywhere, especially in gaming and communities. people tend to defend their hobby, not thinking outside the box. don´t make too much of it. just continue doing what you do best

Going to finish the video but I’m struck by the fact that I think content creation/creators might approach the RU-vid space like aliens do in the 3 body problem lol. Not everyone is out trying to make friends, you are competition. I for one would be tempted to dismiss you particularly if I made a living in the space. Food for thought

The appropriate response should have been on the order of “awesome! Snorse combo FTW!”. She either misinterpreted the comment or takes the concept of deck ownership more seriously. Of course after this point once the goons start coming in you wont accomplish much. I can go deeper but yeaaahh kinda awkward. You seem to be in it for the fun and a nice enough guy
I enjoy your videos for the most part. Mostly due to you being able to get excited about mediocre card and actually do something with it. It is what makes your videos enjoyable to me and I imagine to many others as well. You also tend to have unique look on some cards which is generally worth listening to even if to look at a card from a different perspective. Speaking of which I find those comments of people about pro's not watching any (be it big or small) content creators and grab their ideas utter bullshit. Good idea is good idea and listening to decent player's take on a particular card is always sort of brain storm situation that can give you set of new ideas and the crowd following such creator is irrelevant. What do people think pros do when eating dinner at their pc for example? They more often than not watch something, quite likely that something being youtube video about their interests... However, I miss the point of this video. Hardly any deck was created by one person to begin with and hardly anyone can claim 'ownership' of a particular deck and call himself its creator. You might have been the first to make a video about this deck, sure, but that hardly is some kind of achievement quite honestly and quite frankly, hardly anyone cares. MTG probably has milions of players worldwide and most of them were looking at every card in new set. It is mathematically impossible for this combo to be thought of only by 1 person on earth You could have just said 'hey I've made similar deck some time back and its really fun to play! I am glad I was not tripping when I noticed its potential' and people would applaud you for it. Meanwhile you came across as petty and self absorbed... I am not a fan of Ashlizzle - I find videos from creators who put 'fuck' in every sentence pretty boring to watch so i stopped watching any of her videos quite a while ago (plus she has really annoying thumbnails)- but I agree with her and her comment visible at 12:34 right below yours. Your reaction and things you've said in those comments are kinda yikes.

Agreed I don’t own a deck or anything and never said I did - and I don’t dispute with creators if they claim to have made a deck (even if it looks like mine, which is often the case - that just happens). But here, I wasn’t even aware the pro was saying anything about his creation of the combo in the deck, which is in part why I commented (they surely and rightly use ideas from everywhere). And with the timing and how I marketed the video like a week before it took off as a Mythic Mike original, I was going to at least say something. I would bet if another content creator posted a 3 card combo before anyone else and called it (in that video) creating a never before seen combo, and then it was used to success in a pro tour shortly after, most would at least flag it!
@@MythicMichael Seeing from people's comments under this video it seems they are already aware where they saw the deck first and they will attribute it to you no doubt. But you will not win the fight with entire internet and by going on some comment wars you might only hurt your own self image. Remember that some people cannot be be convinced there is a fire even if their own hair is burning so no matter if you would be the single creator of that deck you would still not be able to convince them. Obviously you are just trying to get recognized and get a bigger reach to help your channel grow, but i genuinely don't think this is the way to do it. I am just a single voice on the internet though so take it as you will. Still gonna watch most of your videos though! Just hoping for less fling :) Have a good one.
Good news is almost all my decks directly counter that combo (including my version of the Bronco Combo). Since I include 4 Ashnod’s Harvester (which is a creature that exiles their graveyard stuff on attacks) and almost always include 7 instant speed removal to kill the reanimated card to stop the loop :)
Yeah you and the crazy polak MTG original deck content creator are the two most original decks builders out of there... Some decks of crowkey are also original but not as close as you and the oni Chan senpai 😄 your decks are more competitive tho, his are more like crazy and funny stuff

i think they make cards to match and do combos but even with that being said you had it out first so even if others came up with the idea they should shout you out later when they find out you thought of it first.

I don’t comment much, but I’ve been watching your videos for several months. Tbh you and power dragon are the only creators I like and the way ash treated you was just wrong. People in general can be toxic, main reason I don’t read comments, but what made me upset for you the most was her denial of you even messaging which just added fuel to the fire and frankly unprofessional for her to not even check. Needless to say, I’ll never watch a video of hers again. People do put pro players on way to high a pedestal. Yes pro players do look online for combos, same as every other sport and art. Authors rip each other off all the time, just making small changes to fit their style, magic is no different. Doesn’t matter whether or not he saw the video, but those reactions about him being a genius and you are not was unbelievable. Just so you know, I’ve had great success with your decks on the ladder, haven’t made it to mythic yet, but did make it to diamond 1, so thank you and they can go duck themselves

It most likely was a miscommunication, but you as a lawyer know the importance of good communication. You make cool decks and have great ideas. The work you put in is unmatched by a lot and it shows. But the whining and always saying people are taking your decks or "stealing" your combos gets old. It's RU-vid, people use these videos for ideas. Original or not. There's a reason they have so many subs, attitude/ personality goes a long way
If you watch the video the point isn’t whether someone used it, it was just about why I made the comment and how the exchange went down in an unfortunate way :). I also don’t think I generally say that haha. But either way back to a new deck tomorrow - just wanted to get that off my chest haha
@MythicMichael you do say your opponent is using your deck quite a bit lol. But it's all good, you've got pride and here no one really shouts anyone out. But at the same time I don't think a lot of creators claim they combo is theirs, just showing off new combos. Either way, keep up the grind

My point when I say that is like Nice someone is playing my brew from the other day - I want my decks to take off :). And if you look in comments people often come and write that they played me while playing one of my decks and are happy about it haha. But like I said, don’t worry - new deck tomorrow!
Something you need to realize is...multiple ppl are capable of coming to a combo conclusion at the same time. Trying to scream "first" is just as pathetic as the "first comment" trolls. I have at least 4 new combos I have yet to see on RU-vid swimming in my head that I know someone else must have come up with too. This ego trip whine I see content creators go thru gets so old and pathetic. I'm sad enough about how lazy the majority of people are. How most people are so unoriginal they simply stalk creators. But it's far more pathetic when those creators simply think they are first.....and no one else has any right to claim they came up with something on their own. Check yo ego.
I mean I would agree if I wasn’t branding myself and that video (when posted) as a unique Mythic Mike original combo! And that it turns out I actually did post it first :) haha. Agreed people can think up same stuff and do, but given how I built the release of that video up, and followed up branding it as an original first seen here combo…. When it took off a week later, I was at least going to say something! :)
Ive never watched any of her stuff, but i did get nosy in the comments after seeing this lol. The worse part about it is her trying to coin the name 'Snorse' for a deck she also ripped. It's your deck, fug those simps 🫡.
