This show is tiny compared to PCA which has 8x the Manufacturers present. The venetian has a serious vent system, I have no idea how they do it. You could probably hold a bio-hazard convention there and be fine.
Nice, you mentioned Founders. They're headquartered near me in Minnesota. I really enjoy their cigars! And it seems they're making it thru the newbie period.
Dude, you come across well. Unlike some of the other podcast/shows, I feel you really communicate well. I have the distinct honor of saying I actually attended a smoke show in ……NYC! Yep, apparently in 1996 cigar smoke was healthy and fun. Hell, I think you could buy a humidor at a Walgreens! Now….SMF’s. Great video! Thanks!
This was fun to watch. I'm A Gunsmith and this very much reminds me of the SHOT Show which is a blast every year. Except the Shot Show is absolutely massive and you can go all 3 days and still not see everything! I would love to go to a cigar trade show! I need to put it on my bucket list.
I mean the boxes he showed at the end of his lighting the “coming soon” cigars were all boxes of Liga Privadas as far as I could tell. So I’m guessing it’s something to do with them. Which I’m most excited for because as a kid who grew up growing broadleaf in the CT River Valley in the 90s, the #9 is a fantastic cigar.
Another great video. I love it when you do the trade show videos it would be so cool to walk around and smoke cigars and meet the people in your videos. Talking with Oliva Nick in person would be awesome Can’t wait so see what you have in store for us with that good looking cigar Cheers 🍻
Hey Tim...are there any "Value Priced" Placencia cigars? I'd love to try them, but the price for these great cigars kinda prevent me from trying their brand.
New saw Tim with glasses😢. Guess all Tim’s hard work is west out his visions. Great review and show tour. Got to get Jim on camera.🤔 Great report Tim.👍👍👍
This was a great watch! I am learning a lot from you. Been smoking cigars for 3 years now and have landed on the flavor of a Maduro wrapper as my favorite. Suggestions?
Great video as always. I do have one two part question. How many hours did you spend at the show, AND how many cigars did you smoke there? Just curious.
How do you cleanse your palate between cigars? I find that the first cigar can crush my palate to an extent..and we all know, but as cigar smokers, are used to waking up with the taste of yesterday's cigar (maybe that's just me but it goes to show how much a cigar impacts the senses). Just wondering what your regime is to keep the palate fresh to detect all the nuances once you've had one or two?
It was great to meet you at the show Tim. I felt like TPE this year was a shell of itself compared to last year. There were a few manufacturers who adapted and released new sample packs or grab n go packs because they realized the TPE consumer is more of a convenient store type rather than PCA that is mostly cigar retailers. Many of the manufacturers held back on releasing cigars at this show and some didn't even bother to take orders... **cough** Fuente **cough** However, as for media, it was great because we got more access than usual and I got to finally meet you 😀
Hopefully you are someone in the comment section can help me out! The cigar shop near me doesn’t offer much. I’ve become a big fan of the A FUENTE Gran Reserva red. I’m making a trip to the reservation that has pretty much everything Is there any any I should be on the look out for that are similar or better than that type?!
I have to chime in and say that "veteran-owned" is actually a red flag for me anymore... seems like more and more of those companies are being ran by bro-vets... if it's legit and a good company then so be it but I'm seeing it from a lot of them anymore.
TPE is a B2B tradeshow, if you're not involved in the industry somehow, it will be hard to buy a ticket. But you're not missing out, it's mostly sales people taking orders, very little to no time to hang out and sample stuff. For consumers, the best shows are The Great Smoke, Rocky Mountain Cigar Fest, and The Big Smoke and Whiskey Fest. These are meant for direct manufacturer to consumer engagement.
That’s what I said. Here in WA I can’t find them anywhere. So I have to order from CA. I would order from Tim because I love what he does if he carried them.
