This is NOT “West Los Angeles”. I live in Los Angeles. This is by MacArthur Park which is right next to Downtown LA, like 10-14 miles away from West LA. Nowhere in West LA is even close to as sketchy as this.

Good video. True, this is not West Los Angeles. And this is a crappy place, near MacArthur Park at the intersection of S Alvarado St and 6th St.. The area surrounding MacArthur Park, one of the poorest areas of Los Angeles, has widely reported crime rates. This is Westlake.

That is McArthur Park west of downtown, not even close to west L.A. The area is mostly illegals from El Salvado and other Central America countries. It is controlled by 18th Street and other gangs. There are open drug dealings and other street crimes.

Actually, this is not "West L.A." This is the infamous MacArthur Park neighborhood just about 1-2 miles west of Downtown L.A. West L.A, is actually not that close to where this video was recorded and is more "upscale" and not as filthy as MacArthur Park, but then again, it has been almost 10 years since I last visited West L.A. and things may have changed (for the worse). My parents used to live about 1/4 mile from where this video was taken and you do not want to be walking through there at night. Stabbings, shootings, drug-dealing, prostitution, you name it. Many Central Americans (Salvadoreans, Hondurans, Nicaraguans, Guatemalans) live in this neighborhood. You will also find some amazing pupusa restaurants in the neighborhood though.😋😋😁😁😁 I was born and raised in L.A. and lived there til my late-20s, that is why I am familiar with many of these places. I now live overseas (thankfully).
