Thank you for posting. I've been watching you since 4th grade when I got my first microscope. Now a 10th grader planning on being a pre-med student in college. Thank you for guiding me through my first days with a microscope. Have a great one!

The fantastically shaped tip can be found in every humanely used syringe. It is hard work to fly with the long lance; the wing hairs will produce the specific flight sound.
@@completeandabsolutenerd No, the larvae is eaten as fish food before they develop through the pupal stage. I keep the larvae in a separate aquarium on my patio where they are well-fed with fish flakes so they don't cannibalize one-another. keeping it outside also allows adult mosquitos to lay eggs so the cycle continues.
Would you make a video where you add the bacteria that kills mosquito larvae under the microscope? It usually comes in a small puck that you drop into the standing water. Would be cool to see what they look like and how effective it is.
Mosquitos and their larvae in general are harmless. I lived in Texas for many years and getting sucked on by mosquitos is just a fact of life there...extremely few people contract serious disease from them in the US. Cool vid
Very few people get hit and killed by cars in your life but that doesn't mean a lot of people don't die from it nor does it mean cars aren't dangerous. It's a risk, someone always loses.
@@ExploreTheMicrocosmos it's not about fearing everything, but respecting danger that does exist and does matter. I'm not suggesting running away screaming if you see a mosquito, just that they ARE dangerous. Life is risk, but you don't have to be blind about risk, being blind about them costs lives.
