Today, John, Devin, and Sam are discussing something that-from our perspective-is quite possibly never proclaimed, discussed, or pondered by men in the Church today. Could this be the very reason why only 31% of Mass going Catholics believe Our Savior is present in the Eucharist? We want to be clear: today’s episode is not just another discussion about Christ’s real presence in the Eucharist, or a lamentation regarding the crisis of faith. Today we will be discussing something so serious, so powerful that it could be the most dangerous and important thing you will ever do.

Thank you fellas! A bit late for me but today was the 10th Sunday after Pentecost and the gospel was one of my favorites, the Pharisee and the publican. Thank you for this talk!

Deemphasis on the real presence came from within the Church. “Modern man demands something more intelligible.” Let’s have the stones to admit these realities.

So True - the Eucharist is a mutual exchange - us doing our part giving totally of ourselves in total sacrifice ( "our **true** and **proper** **WORSHIP** " = Romans 12.1) !!!

Good discussion - the only thing one could add is that NO ONE can comprehend the compassion WE ought to have for God, Who sees not only the sins we can see, but also those we can't. The hidden intentions, the evil plans and objectives of the high and mighty and all of the consequences that flow therefrom (unrepented of, of course), right down to the unconquered faults and the spiritual sloth and cowardice in acknowledging and correcting them on the part of the faithful, which perhaps wound our heavenly Father more than we even know. One should keep these considerations in mind before allowing oneself to wonder why God is such a grouch these days - it's is only by His mercy that He hasn't flushed the whole business already. I'll be 71 in October, and I can't imagine what's holding Him back without tears. Excellent talk, gentlemen!

Thank you guys. I'm not a gentleman, instead a widow. But I am so glad I chose to listen to this when I saw it! Everyone needs to hear this and all these details. I grew up thinking much of my life, believing that I had to be excommunicated before I could not receive the Eucharist. (I was married outside the church though a cradle Catholic) I fear the grave sin I have built up even though I confessed and stopped having intercourse with my husband several years before he died. We live and we learn does not seem to cover it. I don't know what would be appropriate to begin to actually show Him I am indeed sorry now. This bringing something to the communion is a whole new thing to me. Thank you for this information.

Thank you for the gift of this extended video. Now, a minor fact, in pronounciation of "agape" (Sam)...it is 'aGApeee', it is a Koine Greek word that is pronounced according to the Modern Greek; the choice of pronounciation by the Greek Orthodox Church based on the fact, that no one has actually heard as it was pronounced in the 1st century. I uderstand, Sam this is not your mistake but unfortunately, it is widely mispronounced in the Western rite. Devin: @43:51 "eucharistia"..... ef-harees-TEE-ah. The 'ch' is a soft h sound, *not* the 'ch in 'bach'. Again, another Greek word.

I also think that many may feel, as I do, that the miracle of transubstantiation is rarely present when laity administer the Eucharist. I'm also doubtful that when a priest does not believe in anything beyond the "symbols of bread and wine" that there is nothing supernatural about their "sacrificial offering". Not proud that I rarely receive Communion, but with the shocking stats out there about laity and clergy, I may not be that far off.

OK NOT TALKING ABOUT THE HOLY EUCHARIST, BUT HOW PEOPLE GO UP THE AISLE, WOMEN WEARING SHORT, REALLY SHORT... MY BELIEF IS THAT HOLY COMMUNION SHOULD BE RECEIVED ..... KNEELING AND ON THE TONGUE ONLY.... NEVER IN THE HANDS. THIS IS MY OPINION AS I RECEIVED A HEALING OF MY FAITH AND EVER GRATEFUL FOR THIS AMAZING GIFT. AND IF YOU GUYS WANT TO CONVERT MORE CATHOLICS TO COME BACK TO THEIR FAITH.... YOU HAVE TO SPEAK IN A VERY SIMPLE AND NATURAL WAY... NOT TOO MUCH ABOUT MORE ADVANCED CATHOLIC THEORIES OR WAYS. I KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS ARE SAYING. I CANNOT RECEIVE COMMUNION STANDING AND especially IN MY HANDS ... AMEN GOD BLESS YOU GUYS..... Anne J.L.R.

This statement indicates misunderstanding of the consecration of the Eucharistic host:"that the miracle of transubstantiation is rarely present when laity administer the Eucharist". Keep in mind that the consecration of the host is done by a priest, in turn, the lay eucharistic minister distributes it. Instead of judging the 'other's' state of grace, focus on your preparation for and intention of receiving.

Wow this was amazing and I thank you three!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe I am like the Scooby Snack analogy because I always come to Jesus in the Eucharist as a Jesus please I need you for strength to help me with my weakness but am I giving him my ALL? Am I allowing Jesus to transform me or just to help me? Am I coming to him to be transform? Guess I struggle with this.
