grace period is so much more powerful than people realize, even just 1 second of grace gives you 4 things 1: reaction to the hunt starting 2: locate the ghost 3: fomulate plan 4: hide/run/loop 1 second is a stretch but 2 seconds is definitely possible

The 0 grace period setting is what makes Wraiths, Banshees and Phantoms the most dangerous ghosts on the Apocalypse Gold challenge. I think most of my deaths on Gold has been from phantoms starting hunts right on top of me in what are otherwise really safe hiding spots.

This video reminded me of that one spongebob episode where they go camping right beside their home and they theorize about the sea bear attack, and the only way to prevent that is to stay inside a perfect circle otherwise they instantly attack you hahah

Banshee is my most common ghost. They love me. Light sleepers dating heavy sleepers is the reason some couples have seperate bedrooms. Also having a small bladder doesn't make you a light sleeper, Insym. It's how easily you can be woken via outside influences. Also, also; being able to sleep for long periods doesn't automatically mean you've slept better. I used to sleep 10+ hours in my teens and twenties and always had a headache, now I have insomnia which I would definitely choose over those headaches. Forever tired and indifferent.

When I was playing phasmo the other day, i was looking for orbs in the van. I saw a picture fly accros the living room. I was so happy i figured polty by it´s ability XD.

I have to agree on summoning circle. I did a solo run one time with it being my cursed object and because my sanity was low, I need to take in sanity pills in the middle of lighting it. Then I couldn’t even finish lighting all candles cause it hunted while I was in the middle of lighting the other candles. Moreover, it eats up all player’s sanity if they’re near it. Really a bit annoying to set up.

When custom difficulty first came out. I used to play on Custom Nightmare with 0 grace period and no hiding spots. Cuz it made the game more challenging, scary and bigger payouts. Which was also more fun. 😄

I wish they showed you what the mimic decided to mimic. I had a mimic use like 10 abilities in a single match but idk what it did lol

The Revenant has killed me the most. I've had very few Spirits despite them apparently being a common ghost.

Potential challenge: The average youtube ghost hunter Activity: low Lowest level camera and only one star pictures. Candle, emf, and voice box. Just an idea. Not very fleshed out. But i was just thinking of all those videos of dudes with like 50 dollar 2001 video cams that freak out but you can barely tell whats going on.

it makes sense that your most common ghost is mimic because during no-evidence challenges, you always start off by checking for orbs... so mimic games are usually quick games for you... so there are "more of them" in the pool of all your games... if that makes sense

Grace period 0 basically breaks ur thinking like "oh that's a ghost event" but it actually isn't a ghost event

Regarding your discussion about sleep around 45 minutes into the video, have you ever tried taking melatonin? I've also struggled with consistent and continuous sleep all my life. While part of that turned out to be due to chronic sleep apnea, even with CPAP treatment I very rarely get more than 6 hours of sleep because I tend to wake up around 5-6 hours and then not being able to go back to sleep. But getting treated with melatonin has helped a lot - even if I wake up after a while, it helps keep me sleepy enough to go back to sleep and get closer to or even more than the recommended 8 hours. So, if you haven't tried that, I can really recommend it.

Its funny looking back, cause while i was learning the game and trying to earn my first warchest, grace period is one of the first settings i turned down because i thought it didn't make much of a difference and it gave a super high multiplier. Played for like 3 months with 0 starting sanity and 0 grace period. Then i started watching this channel, changed some settings around and decided "aight ill meet in the middle. 5 seconds is too long, but they say 0 is rlly hard so lets try 2" and i instantly went _OH. THIS IS WHAT THEY MEANT_ Edit : but yeah im so hyperactive that 5 second grace period tends to confuse me. I see the hunt but i dont hear the ghost so i panic and i tend to run straight into it

Here's a tip I saw in some article many years ago... If you wake up in the middle of the night, do not pick up your phone/ipad etc. The light from the device confuses your brain into thinking it is day time and the sleep vanishes. So they advised to keep the phone away from where you can grab it easily while sleeping, but will also be able to get up and shut off the alarm in the morning when it rings, because you have to get up anyway. I found this to be very good advice and should help light sleepers like yourself marginally.

I always play on 0 grace period... I luckily didn't die often but one time I wanted to run to the kitchen in tanglewood.. Made it to the living room and just died. The door didn't even close. I just died XD I love 0 grace period. Edit: I am currently level 1500 but I think the pay is totally worth it, Grace takes imo a lot away. For what it is that is.. Plus it's scarier Edit: Totally feel the light sleeper thing xD Waking up from any small sound. Sleeping 3h a night because I wake up really often

i tried going for the bronze apocalypse trophy today, and right as i got in sunny meadows, the ghost killed me..... also, what is with all the lag? been seeing it on your vids, and also been experiencing it myself. they really need to do something about the optimization! the game only came out in 2020 and runs like its from 2014 sometimes

The Candles in the chapel do count XD i learned it the hard way. In sunny meadows on professional and was insta hunted by an onryo

I love the entire conversation of sleeping LOL. I always wake up during my sleep at least two times. I would wake up around 3-5 in the morning and I would drink water then go back to sleep. I wake up again 1-2 hours before my alarm goes off then back to sleep. Finally I wake up to my alarm to start my day. It’s heavenly to sleep through the night. I envy my brother for that. Every time I wake up in the middle of the night I just see my brother snooozing going honkkkkkk shooooooo. He just closes his eyes and boom, instant REM sleep. I have a long battle tossing and turning until I fall asleep. Especially with my neck being so sensitive for some reason, I have to lay on my arm and have my hand cover my neck to be comfortable.

I would love to see a ghost that aggressives based on if someone smudges as a special ability so if someone smudges while it’s using it’s ability it makes it really fast and chases after the smudge stick and if it’s on the ground it screams and throws it or if it’s in a players hand it kills the player

I had a blank field for most deaths for ages but it finally updated (it was Yurei last time I looked, I think). It makes sense that it maybe was tied.

I've seen plenty of Onryo in the Sunny Meadows Chapel, and they 100% without a doubt count the candles on the candelabras for their ability. Last one I saw hunted at about 90% sanity. Team almost left immediately thinking it was a Demon until I pointed out that with all the candles it could have been an Onryo hunt, and it was. However, and this one I'm not sure of, it seems they completely ignore the candles that are sitting on the floor.

I really want to see insym makes a video in which he spends all his money buying items before the rest so we can see how many items he can buy. Love your videos keep up the good work❤.

honestly i think that playing this on no grace period is kind of true to the reality of being the ghost hunters. like bruh you really think the ghost is gonna be like, "Yea i guess I'll wait to hunt them." Nah that wont happen lol

Challenge Idea: Item Randomizer Ghost Type Edition Part 1: The challenge starts by playing just a normal, professional game of phasmophobia. Once you have figured out the ghost type, select it in your journal. Part 2: You will notice that every ghost in the journal has its’ own column and row number. For example, the onryo is in row 6, column 2. The amount of items you will be allowed to randomize for next game is 2 times the row number of the ghost. So for the onryo, you would get 2*6 or 12 items to randomize for your next game. The column number of the ghost determines the difficulty of the next game. Column 1 will be professional, column 2 nightmare, and column 3 insanity. The entire idea of the challenge is that the ghost you get determines how difficult your next game is. You are really hoping that the ghost you get in your game is low in the journal so that you have a lot of items for the next game. If you get something like a phantom however, you will only be allowed 2 items to investigate a ghost on insanity difficulty. Not sure how feasible this challenge idea is but thought I would share. Note: Flashlight and lighter are automatically given to you, and do not have to be on the item wheel. Additional Note: You only have to play the standard professional game once. Once the challenge is started you can use the ghost from your last game for the number of items and difficulty for the next game.

I dunno about perfect randomization, each time I play with my friend, we have this one evidence that will repeat itself among almost every ghost. So we would have freezing ghosts all evening, or EMF 5, or orb ghosts, or whatever. At times if ghost is uncooperative, you can just guess based on previous experience and be right! It's so weird.

Oh yeah, if the most deaths show blank, it is a tie. I used to have The Mimic, then I died to a Demon and now it's blank. And I keep my own notes, so I know I'm currently tied between these two ghosts.

Btw i wish there were less difference between ghost events and ghost hunting because after some time you get used to it. My favorite event is when they break the light because it really lookslike a grace before hunt

My most common ghost is wraith, but most deaths to obake. However I feel like the stats are bugged, because I have so many thayes, more than wraiths I think

Nah the no grace period is scary. Did a gold apocalypse challenge run where I had a phantom blow out 2 candles at the far end of the Chapel whilst it roamed towards me. It tapped a key on the piano and blew out two candles right next to me and bang, I was dead. Full 30 seconds I was just waiting to die essentially it was awful.

Before artificial lights, it was normal for people to have "split" sleep schedules!

Hi Insym! Serious question, not a troll I swear: Did you know that ghosts can't throw items when the light is on? I'm asking cause I know Psycho doesn't and this really surprises me, considering his experience of the game. He is like the number 1 science guy and I love it! But he doesn't seem to believe that. So now I'm doubting. There's sometimes an issue in rooms above basements though, where items are thrown even with the light on, but other than that, if the ghost is actually in a lit room, it can't throw anything (except for Polter). It can throw an item in a lit room IF it does it from a dark room. I wanted to be as specific as possible, just to be sure that what I wasn't mistaking. Any help is welcome here, from Insym or anyone else 🙏🏻

Yeah sounds more like insomnia to me or well a form of it. I don’t wake up often but the slightest noise will wake me up. I have to ear plugs otherwise I’ll get woken up every time a car drives by. I’ve been woken up legitimately 20+ times a night until I found ear plugs that worked for me.

has anyone ever tested onryo hunts in a ghost room with lit summoning circle candles?

True Randomisation always feels less random to Humans than systems that try to make it feel like there is true Randomness. Outliers are just part of statistics when it comes down to it. For us humans 3 of the same ghosts in a row hardly feels random but deliberate. True Randomness does not care if it gives you 5 or even 10 times the same ghost. It is certainly unlikely but not implausible. Now Systems made to feel random certainly will try to avoid repeating patterns and also multiple of the same ghosts in a row, making it feel more random while being less random.
