That’s actually a crazy mindset his goal in life is to keep doing wut he loves, and make friends. And for him to say he’s had an easy life despite his parents getting a divorce which is not an easy thing. Truly humbling and inspiring

Isai is still my favorite Melee player. He could've been the best but he never wanted to be. All he wanted was to play and have fun, what every gamer should do, just have fun. Respect for this man.

I remember watching a grand finals once where Isai dominated the first 2 games or so with luigi which commentators stated was considered a low tier character in Smash 64. Well it turns out, Isai switch to Donkey Kong and started doing bad and ended up losing. When he was interviewed he was asked: "why did you change to Donkey Kong?" to which he replied in the most chill manner: "cause I hadn't played him all day".

I've seen this documentary twice already, and it feels like I'm seeing it for the first time, as well as hearing about these players for the first time. As long as you're wanting to do these kinds of commentary, I'm certain there are more people who'd see you do that than not. Keep it up.

"Don't get hit..." Isai's story is one that makes me very emotional. I feel like very few people have such a strong spirit, particularly when it comes to smash. When Isai plays smash because he wants to, it's one of the most genuine things I can imagine someone doing.

As an og FGC dude, but not on the smash side, I gotta say I loved this video and insight on OG smash. I saw alot of these guys while I played Guilty Gear and Street fighter, going to their smash pools, and to think how we were all so similar is awesome. So many feels I was able to relate to just by how the documentary and Zero explained things.... Very cool, very touching. Its funny that “don’t get hit” was his advice. I play competitive halo and something that really leveled up my play was somebody saying “yeah dude just try to not get shot” and for some reason it really improved my level of play.

Damn, whenever Isai got serious, it's almost as if he set standards in the game that will passed down and learned by others to mimic and even refine. It's really awe inspiring to see. "Don't get hit" has been a staple with my friend group that plays. Glad to know that it actually originated from this man.

"Don't get hit" hahaha that is such a meme. This story got to me, though. Sure, he must've practiced a lot, but the guy must've had talent to be that good. Yet he... just want to have fun. Enjoy his hobbies (hiking and playing SSB) and having friends. I can relate to both. Sometimes is just hard to enjoy your hobbies when you're "forced" into solitude. It's hard when you're shy or have high sensibility and everything affects you more than normal. That also messes with relationships such as having friends. And it's also why something as "simple" as having friends, can turn into a life goal for some people. I feel Isai, dude.

This was a really touching story...I find myself feeling bad i didn't know about him before this but admittedly im not a very big historian in any sense in or out of smash because i tend to try and bury or forget as much as i can (i know, its not healthy) in my own life. **** But i assume Isai is is still alive since there was no mention of him passing.. can someone confirm this for me tho? Whole story was so sad for some reason and i was getting suicide vibes from it the whole time... Great video tho Zero, really enjoyed it and your respectful viewpoints and opinions on Isai and life situations in general here. You really seem like a good dude.
