it seems that every western team regressed over the past year except tl. it has just been painful to watch lcs and lec. but maybe it's just cause korean top4 are superhuman, especially geng. let's see what worlds bring but i think i shouldn't be watching western league anymore, just pisses me off.

@@jackspinner4727 first off all top4 was meant for the best 4 teams, not toplaners. 2nd of all toplane is not an isolated lane in proplay. and generally it's not the island people are crying about.

​@@jackspinner4727 The reason there has always been a significant gap (and probably always will) between Eastern and Western tops is purely mechanics. It's not because top is the most mechanical role (depends on champs in each role obviously) but because it has the most amount of mechanical checks out of all lanes and the least outside influence. Because of the nature of the champions your top matchup is historically a matchup of a thousand marginal mechanic checks - constant bruiser/tank trade patterns with a lot of sustain. Whereas in bot and mid the nature of the champions make each matchup a game of very few major mechanic checks - burst trade patterns mid and support all in trade patterns bot with little sustain both lanes. When this is the case it's just a math equation. Eastern players have always had both superior and more consistent mechanical levels by a margin of something like 60/40 (maybe not this high but you get the idea). If you play out this 60/40 a thousand times in a lane then the 60 will win much more consistently then if you play it out a few times in a lane. TL;DR They're better at every lane (on average), it's just more consistently revealed top because of the matchups natural lowered variance.

@shigerou16 hard agree. The usual strat was hard camping Jojo. But with Thanatos joining, they it's hard to camp Jojo or Thanatos without risking the other two lanes from winning lane.

@lightidentity I admit that Quid whooped Jojo's behind last series, but (maybe I'm coping) I think Jojo can beat Quid in the rematch. It also helps that the meta changed, opening the possibility of control mages. If Jojo gets Azir, I think he stomps.

@@Arti_The_Great never said anything about Jatt I think he’s fine, I struggle with a lot of esports commentary. Growing up listening to, Martin Tyler, Peter Drury, Andy Gray etc etc.. It just seems to be lacking any real substance, or gravity nothing to it whatsoever. It’s absurd to think that anyone is actually listening to flowers or majority of the Lec casters in recent times not trying to drone them out.

@@pray4boris I know you didnt say anything about Jatt but he was with Cpt for that match. Captain Flowers had a ton of energy and passion for LCS. Its been a while since I watched competitive League so maybe he doesnt really have it anymore but Cpt definitely still one of the best in the west for commentary. Not that its saying much.

@@Arti_The_Great I’ve felt that Kobe has had more moments in his casting I would describe as passionate then cpt, but I guess it all depends on what moves us as individuals. I always enjoyed Deficio when he was doing it back in the day. But overall for English casting LCK had the best cast.
