@@christopherdixon5141 it's not that it wasn't reported, people couldn't understand the ones who came back, and those who came back couldn't explain what they were through. By coming back like nothing ever happened I mean, those men had to find jobs, take care of their farmsteads and homes, raise their kids because no one else's will help you... Mental trauma was understood only after WW1 as a cause of constant stress or witnessing horrors

You should have been at the 150th Appomattox, it was like 15,000 guys on the field and there were a few moments when both sides were advancing at once, the order kept was pretty impressive.

No kidding! I was surprised their 1SG. didn’t call “rear rank, right foot step up!” I’m not a gamer. I’m in the military and used to do Civil War reenacting, but it’s so cool to see people working/ playing as a cohesive unit.

Icons on the ground showing where your footing should be and what direction to face definitely help!

Napoleonic Wars was flat-out amazing. The AI wave survival and pulling off like 20+ kill shots with artillery was some of the best fun I've had in a game

That wasn't the tactic used. The 2nd rank fires over the shoulder of the 1st rank.

In reality the guy behind them would shoot in between the gaps in the line they only took a knee when there were 3 lines

In WW2 it was 12-14% killed by friendly fire, so this was probably up there…Although you’d be more likely to die of dysentery or cholera.

You know here in Mindanao Philippines there's a lot of treasure hunters alot of the Japanese soldiers buried the Japanese gold here and they had a lot of gold. There's also a ship that was sunk right off the coast where I live and you can see the observation tower during low tide even. It's right off the coast of Maguling in Southern Mindanao Philippines. I don't know the ships name but it's a Japanese naval ship.

@@jamesalfredstrong8106 Oh wow that's cool. If you live in the Philippines then maybe you know the story about the Taffy 3 task force during WW2? A few US destroyers held off the Japanese fleet and turned them around off of Samar. Most mismatched naval battle ever.

My grandma Selma my mom's mom said before she died at 93 like 3 years ago that she was holding my uncle when he was an infant and bullets were literally hitting the ground around her feet and my grandpa's sister my dad's dad my mom told me about how she got nearly killed by a bomb and managed to get a scar the shape of a v on her forehead from the bomb also in Kling because the American airforce and the Japanese navy were fighting right off the coast in Kiamba and also my great grandpa my dad's mom's dad was executed by decapitation for refusing to bow to a Japanese commander or something somewhere in Kiamba. Now my grandpa my dad's dad him and his dad and his I think 6 other brothers were guerilla soldiers making my great grandpa their general up north in Basilan possibly in Isabella a big city island off the coast of Zamboanga where fighting was very heavy from what I read in my great grandpas bio he was also the first to bring rubber to the Philippines. They had a big rubber plantation too his name was James Walter Strong my grandpa was James Alfred Strong and my dad was James Walter the 2nd and I'm James Alfred the 2nd I'm 40 now.
