Idk. I feel like it should be immediately obvious that it's a trap if you get to the house and the person who answers the door is a 13-year-old who looks 20. And then when you get into the kitchen and see that there are curtains instead of doors... if that doesn't raise a million red flags, then you're just not very smart. I have literally never seen a house with curtains instead of doors, except for on To Catch a Predator. Obviously, I am not going to find out, but I think I would also be able to tell just from the texts. It would be easy to catch a decoy in a lie by asking very specific questions and then keeping track of inconsistencies. Like what police do when interrogating criminals.

First of all I agree he should of be locked away for a lot longer than he was. But from a legal standpoint he didnt actually do anything to the child and everything(at least from the info in the video) was attempted so they more than likely got a lesser penalty becuase of this distinction.
It also doesn't take in to account the fact that he had child prn on his phone. Each photo or video is a child being abused. There have been absolutely ridiculous cases in the UK where someone has say, 3000 photos of CP on their computer, but only get 18 months because they've never laid a hand on a child themselves. They've still paid for hundreds of photos of CP which that child will NEVER recover from. They should be sentenced as if they did it themselves.
I am a childhood sexual abuse survivor and each and everyone of these wastes of flesh that are disposed of lifts my spirits a little. The fact that they said he has a daughter disgusts me, any nieces or cousins too are at risk as well. It's horrifying!
Yes, as a victim of csa as well, while I'm glad those waste of air are being exposed, I wish there was also more awareness that the great majority of the time, it isn't some internet rando who sexually abuse children, but parents, siblings and extended family. At least I'm glad they have much more severe sentencing in the US than in Canada.

I worked in a max security prison for 3 years. Nothing happens to guys like this anymore hardly, because there are so many of them there. At least where I worked.

Edit: To clarify, serial killers and rapists don’t get out for sure, but I know guys get falsely accused of rape and some killers only killed because in the heat of the moment they saw their spouse cheating. Someone falsely accused needs a chance to prove themselves innocent and a crime of passion doesn’t throw out the whole person. But proven serial rapists and killers definitely should never be released. Pedophiles though need to die, crime or attempted either way. They are a plague on society.

Sadly this happens all the time, there is at least 1 Predator in every family. When I was 9 years old I went through this exact same thing with someone in my family. I was also shown “material” to learn what I was doing. I’m glad they got this guy, but with his age there is no telling how many other girls he has done this too and the damage he has caused. Please make sure you know what your kids are doing and don’t just assume someone is a good person.

Well, I’m reality there aren’t actually that many of them. There are a lot more things to be aware of, I’d quit wasting my time worrying about the boogey man. He wasn’t holding a gun to girls heads…. Just be aware they are out there and if any guy makes inappropriate comments get away from them. If you ask me most of them are just lonely. Many of them probably wouldn’t prey on young girls, but don’t have any one or anything in their lives that loves them. It’s more sad. Watch out for yourself, but don’t let it make you loose sleep.

You simply can't afford to give people the benefit of the doubt until they've proven themselves to you. Always have a lifeline who can help you in any situation ever. Ken being so aware of this kind of stuff in the world, not only makes him a real stand-up guy, but probably a great dad too! Now he has the knowledge to better understand what his children could be up to and getting themselves into online, so he can protect them from the dangers of online predators. It's so heartbreaking to think about all of the parents that didn't have this sort of knowledge, and simply let their children do whatever they wanted on the internet. I was almost one of them myself, but luckily my parents caught the predator when I was talking to them in time to stop anything from happening, I'm so very thankful for them.

But they were sensible enough to know that adults also use the internet, and that there are adults out there that will use it as a means to prey on children. When we hear some bad news we never think it could’ve been us and that’s how a lot of parents think. I completely get it. I'm a legal LP and 30, and I've been hit on by a lot of creeps who either think I'm much younger or say things like, 'your so small I could just throw you around' and stuff. It's honestly so disturbing. He went to isolation. He probably got his ass beat. They don't instantly put you in solitary confinement unless you are threatened or get into a fight.
The bail should not exist for crimes like this, but bail isn't a way out legally. It is however, a chance to skip town or something. After you pay bail, you still have to go to trial and be convicted

BTW I just looked up what happened to this guy. He got out of jail this past year on Jan 4th. He was 71 and he looked like he aged about 20 years. He looked like Gandalf from lord of the rings, long white hair. But as of recently he got into a road rage car accident in stamford Connecticut and got into a fight with the other driver. The other driver punched him and he fell to the ground unconscious and later died. Now another man is probably going to be going to jail for murder.
