The console version is actually my favorite tmnt game of all time . Once you unlock some moves it becomes amazing and playing with someone else makes it even more fun

This was one of the only games I got my grandmother to actually play when I was a kid, these games definitely had their issues but the good memories they brought me made it a good time to go back to on occasion

Even though the game isn't good for most, I personally loved it mostly because of the multiplayer. I always had 2 to 3 other family members to play with and it always made for a good time. This game similar to kirby air ride, feels like an entirely different game when you play it multiplayer. Your right that the platform segments are hell in multiplayer but, oddly enough it kind of adds the fun to it. Just cracking jokes on the players draining the health bar and jokes on hard carrying everyone else. Definitely not for everyone especially if you play it single player. But if you got family and friends that are also fans of the series, you'll have plain dumb fun with it :)

oh man, this game right here. On paper, it had everything going for it. - all turtles in the action, with up to 4 players. -more varied levels, bite-sized so they don't go on too long -a bigger story with more diverse worlds. -the original arcade!! But then we get to the combat, which, to quote the Nerd. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-c2ia8T4E2Mc.html&ab_channel=oliversorianomorales This one element single-handedly ruined the game. They had a good system with the Musou-lite combat from the first, why the shell did they not expand upon that?! Still, all the things I listed above make it have a small place in my heart, but damn, if only there existed a mod which touched up the combat.....

Everything about this game was cool except the actual gameplay Having to unlock all your basic combos in a beat em up via collectibles is extremely bad game design

3:22 Hell yeah bro, UP TOP! OK, serious mode now. This and the first game...are not great. I am under no delusion about their quality. They really are just mediocre at best. That being said...I genuinely can't bring myself to dislike either. They're most likely some of the very first games that I beat to completion without help from either a friend or a family member. You shoulda seen kid me discovering the true final boss of the first game, or the Battle Nexus exclusive bosses. It was like I stumbled upon the greatest secret known to man. Playing either takes me back to a simpler time, and that...just ain't something that can be taken away. Without them...well, I wouldn't go so far as to say that I wouldn't be where I am today. Chances are, I would've gotten the same amazement somewhere else, maybe even with better games. But...in the end...what's done is done. They may be mediocre shovelware...but they're _my_ mediocre shovelware. So...yeah. ...wait...I feel like I'm forgetting something...hmm... ...oh yeah! *ahem* KONAMI FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, _PLEASE_ RELEASE MY BOY SLASHUUR FROM THE LICENSE PURGATORY, I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR NEARLY *_20 YEARS--_*

I don't share your opinion with the GBA version, you say that the combat is not that good, but the truth is that considering that the game is more based on stealth, it's normal that it doesn't feel that way, but for what it is, it's more than good. now for world 4 I understand you but I think that like any game it is normal that it asks you to improve your playable skills, they give you progress it is challenging yes but not impossible, the level design is more than good and if you think it is wrong Take a good look at the ninja cop game made by konami herself on the gba, you will see that the last levels are similar. but the opinion is respected, I consider that this gba sequel is much better than the first.

I think you didn’t got hook to the arcade game, because you need the nostalgia. Just imagine in the 89 watching the cartoon, during this time the nes existed, and they sold the tmnt nes game, that was impossible to play. So any arcade was way superior to the home consoles. So one day I went to the arcades, and I saw many kids around an arcade, I couldn’t even get so close, and suddenly I noticed it was a tmnt game, it exploded my mind, the graphics looked very similar to the cartoon. And the music was so cool, so instantly I got hooked. Played so many times trying to finish it, but the game is very difficult. There is this moment of adrenaline, trying not to die and not loose any more money, so as a kid, I only had limited money, son I couldn’t continue that many times. So this became so nostalgic and a classic game. Thinking that maybe one day I can have this game in my house, finally this came inside battle nexus… but it doesn’t have the original music, so, this destroys completely the game. Finally with emulators I was able to have it. But probably looking at this game for the first time now, looks old, repetitive, also having infinite credits makes this super boring. The best thing to do is to challenge yourself and try to beat it only with 4 coins, if you die then you have to start from the beginning.

I've played mostly the console version and I generally agree on everything. The game is a perfect balance between bad and good, but I still manage to have fun with it, even today. However, I do believe that the controls feel clunky because of the fact that the game expects you to time combos perfectly rather than spam them. Also, the shared healthbar is a very likely a way to balance the game in co-op because enemies health and damage remains unchanged. So in co-op you basically sacrifice health for more damage. Teamwork oriented gameplay basically. Also I'm glad someone else finds the OST superb like I do. This game has no reason to go so hard lmao.

I had a similar experience with the GBA version as you I liked the first three world and then the feudal Japan world at first I hated, but I learned you can skip past the ninjas by mashing the slide, which made me actually enjoy it and beat it. but... yea the final world did make me stop playing it was like a maze with teleporters taking you to different places and you HAD to fight every enemy... that made me just stop playing cause I wasn't having fun

@@Severux lol, I was stuck at the level where you throw the Utroms into the teleporter. I was stuck in that level for a year I think. I just kept throwing shurikens at Shredder until the timer ran out. I gave up for a few months, came back and accidentally pickup one and realize I needed to get them into the teleporter. I was still learning English back then so that caused more difficulties probably, and I was like 12

Stumbled upon this video, I'm glad someone else really likes this game's box art lol I've always really liked the first 2003 TMNT game. I only got my hands on Battle Nexus about two years ago but I was just not a big fan of this one from the little bit I played of it. The downgrade to the combat that you mention is the main reason I wasn't big on this, didn't get anywhere near far enough to see how bad the platforming was but unfortunately not really surprised. Also, with the GBA game, I'm a fan of the stealth angle, too; you'd think a series called Teenage Mutant _NINJA_ Turtles would have more sneaking around and stealth segments.

People are so divided on this game because you need 4 player couch co-op to enjoy the full game or at least 1 other player. This game came out around the time having 4 players playing the SAME game was a BIG deal. So I appreciate the creator giving the game props for that. I myself was able to experience this game multiple times with several of my friends so this game is one of my all time favorites. For single players I really recommend the final game of the series TMNT 3 mutant nightmare. I played that game way more than battle nexus so it's all about how many players you can play with to enjoy each game. For example you can't fully enjoy the 1st game in the series without another player. If you made it this far. Thank you for reading and sharing love for one of my all time favorite games EVER😁

Well, played this game as a child and don't have much of a choice back then and I didn't know about save files for first time of my playthrough. Yet needless to say that I enjoyed playing although I never complete it. I didn't have first game on my ps2 so I wasn't able to play it (Same thing that happened to Avatar games, played Burning Earth, but not the first game... and also didn't complete it either). Most memorable thing for me was the monsters from underground since I was not familiar with the show itself, but when I start to watch the 1st season I start to understand only a little (other seasons passed me by in my childhood). Still, have big fun with the game, especially with battle tournaments. That's all I have to say. Loved this game.

I would love battle jexus more if they actually gave you a move list instead of just 2 attacks the start and by the end of the game you get 5 attacks. Mutant mayhem was way better
