Last year was dominated by huge sacks of bass caught on Lake Kissimmee -fish weighing in at over 30lbs in local and regional tournaments were common. Those insane weights and fish catches were often attributed to one simple rig that you can cast and fish when the bass are spawning - a process that lasts through March and even April. Using a stick bait - in particular the Gambler Fat Ace in Black Blue Tip with a light tungsten bullet weight Texas Rigged, anglers would cast to isolated targets such as lily pads and bulrush to target big spawning bass. Fishing line could be either 20lbs flourocarbon or 50lbs braided line depending on the thickness of the cover.
