UPDATE! Warning please watch! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eKIKKZHDtMk.html Update 2 the skimmer loudly complains each time I lift the top part.. which means I need to shut it off each time I want to remove small leaf remains... which means all the leaves are released back in the water before I get to them heee high 5! 🙄 the microbubbles piped down tho! 😬

It might be a safety thing that you need to turn it off each time which would be a good thing 🤔 all of my equipment I use for my tank either has a button to temporarily turn them off for maintenance or you need to shut it completion down, safety first right 🙂 I have a tunze skimmer which is at least ten times bigger than yours & it produces micro bubbles at the bottom as well so must be normal to do it. I’ve had one for 6 months. I have the 600:for my 65/gallon. Works great. I put a small piece of floss on top of the sponge for more filtration. If you put the piece that you cannot remove under hot water it will come off easily.

I love the Vlad joke. Brilliant creative way to make use of a mistake. ... it's like the pump is a bit too strong (with no way to impede it), so that it can't avoid sucking down air...

I use the bubbles as a feature. I run CO2 during the day and the bubbly skimmer at night to make sure the tanks stays oxygenated when everything is consuming oxygen. I wasn't as patient as you in finding a way to make is quiet. I just run it when everyone is asleep.

Hahaha, went through the same thing as you. Turning that skimmer on for the first time just gave me a jump scare. I immediately switched it of, grabbed all of my militarily armor, put on my helmet and went back in. It was a trail on error. But after figuring things out...all good. Great video, though. Thank you. 👌

You want it as low in the tank as you can get it without the top floating off when not powrred on. This should reduce the bubbles even more. The deeper you can have the water inside of the filter, the less bubbles you get

I just got it, that’s how I ended up here. For me most annoying thing is the flow since I use it in small tank and it pushes the gravel away.

It's called impeller. You did a very nice comparison to the other that you have. I also have to remove the whole thing from my Eheim Skim 350 once a week to clean up. I do not like the way the water is released from the bottom too. Can't win all the time. LOL! Thanks very much for the video!

Skimmers for salt n freshwater aquarium usually have a break in period of 1 to 2 week s..and can produce extra micro bubble s during that time

Nice video. Wanted to ask - is the vibration noise from pump transferred through the glass to a cabinet amplifying it ? This problem I usually have with all AC pumps. Or is eheim better in this area? I bought a cheap chines skimmer which looks like eheim but the vibration noise bothers me all the time. Thx.

I was very excited to get my Oase skimmer. It's much more clean to look at than my Eheim, but like you I was getting a lot bubbles and noise. It didn't work for me so I'm back with Eheim. I think Oase did a lousy job designing that thing.

Io ho il modello 600, funziona benissimo, mi ha eliminato totalmente la lemna minor, nessun pesce ci è finito dentro specialmente neocaridina o caridina, lo uso sia per il dolce/salmastro e qualche volta per il Marino, prodotto eccellente, forse sei stata sfortunata tu.
