The MOST Efficient Shiny Sandwich Guide for Scarlet & Violet

I've adjusted the ingredients to work. UPDATE: You can actually use ANY HERB COMBO, and not just Bitter + Spicy for those recipes. I've updated the images.

IDK if you can see this but you DON'T need the top bread at all to make it work. Just throw the bread away and finish it off with a pick. Should help a lot with the harder to build recipes since it gets really bouncy when you have multiple layers of food on the sandwich

In depth Sandwich *building* tips! (for bigger sandwiches): - the first topping placed is dropped from ' bottom bread level'. After that first piece is set, toppings are dropped from a new higher height, by about that toppings size. Each new layer adds to the drop distance by the highest ingredients height, so build symmetrically when you can if you don't want to drop stuff higher than necessary from way up on a neglected space of sandwich. - Ingredients can only be stacked 4 tofu high, they will auto-drop off of the sandwich if you build any higher than that. - always put basil first, it slips down slopes to easily & doesn't add too much height or unevenness to the first layer and usually sinks into the bread when stuffs put on top of it. - Basil will ruin a recipe if even a single piece falls off! it's flavor profile will be removed from the sandwich if that happens! - place sausages in bundles 3 on the left or right of the sandwich after basil if in the same recipe. treat these bundles as only safe to put flat items on! Stuff like strawberries will roll around too easily. - Always put wide flat items down second (after basil *&* sausages if in the same recipe tho), stuff like apples, tofu, potato tortillas or hamburger, they just widen the building base for more secure topping placement forward and backwards afterwards, so they are valuable in stable sandwiches. - If you have multiples of these flat items save the second layer to stabilize items listed next. - If you have egg, strawberries, kiwi or pineapple try to place them in a triangle on the left or right of the sandwich. - toppings placed in the center of a triangles of toppings will almost never tumble. if there's a bit of overlap on that triangle formation, only attempt flat pieces on top of them - flat pieces will pin triangle placed toppings down when placed on top and they will not slide or settle much afterwards, even when building on that piece. If the formation below is overlapped a bit, flat pieces will flatten them out a bit and stabilize themselves. Just try to keep it all centered over the bread tho! - If you have multiple helpings of food on a tray, they always get picked up in particular angles depending on how many are left on the tray. - Eggs always orient as: 1st an upright egg, 2nd a sideways egg, 3rd another upright egg, in that order per serving tray, no matter which one you try to pick up first on that plate! - You can break the orientation's 'angle order' to a degree by picking off multiple trays at a time if you have a double helping. - Noodles, Potato salad, fried fillet, smoked fillet and Rice are evil and should only be put as the last layer on bigger sandwiches. If you can't put them alone, put them as far on the ends of the sandwich as you can and use the troth in the center to place your stray toppings in a cheer-leading pyramid. - Almost every other ingredient can be placed left, right center without issue before those evil "mound" ingredients are added. - Lastly, ditch the top bun! It just potentially sabotages the sandwich and isn't even needed for full powered sandwiches! Just hover it over the table completely off the sandwich and drop it where it belongs: NOT on the sandwich. - Bonus glitch :D If you do the top bun skip, in the top most corners of the build area and spam 'A' fast enough afterwards, you might drop the pick early and miss the sandwich completely and the pick will just go through the table and disappear if it doesn't catch an ingredient on the way down. You can build some pretty stupid complicated sandwiches without them toppling if you do all this junk successfully.

Huge respect for all the effort and testing you did to figure these out for us. Can’t imagine how you put up with doing actual math and sitting through that sandwich cutscene as many times as you did

A couple of notes about game progression: these buffs are so OP, they can even be shared with brand new players who have not even visited the school for the first time (meaning they wouldn't be able to even set up their own picnic yet, but they can join someone else's picnic in multiplayer). The ingredients available for purchase depend on your progression through the gym badges. Salt can be bought even before going to school if you have sequence-broken out of the starting area, and is important to note because condiments are auto-applied and you're forced to bring at least one. If you are earlier in the game than any required filling can be bought for a given sandwich and are playing in multiplayer, bring something else and drop all of it on the table instead of letting it go on the sandwich. Thank you so much Jefe for sharing these buffs with me and allowing me to benefit from these buffs while I'm still being a delinquent from school.

This video was an absolute godsend for me, I was driving myself mad doing 5 and 6 star raids and got every herb drop MULTIPLE TIMES but the game just wouldn’t give me a salty herb. Knowing I can make shiny sandwiches with any herb has saved me so much time and sanity 😂

I'm fairly new to the game and didn't have a lot of herba mysticas and seeing everyone else's guides, I was so bummed out thinking I couldn't make any sandwiches because they all say you need 2 salty herba mysticas for example, but thanks to your guide, I was able to create my sandwich using two different herbs instead of two of the same herb and was able to catch my first ever shiny. Hi, this is TTiN. Just want to point out that I didn't cheat in 999 herbs, I just saved and reset. I also only used Naniko's initial "hey you can just use 1 topping + 2 herbs" because my first one was a sandwich full of 6 fillings and 3 herbs. So my testing was springboarded on "all you need is 2 herbs", and I tried to stick as close to that as possible, due to the utter scarcity of my herbs.
