Great books today. I had several of them back in the day. Seeing your Amazing Fantasy issue reminds me of one opportunity I had to buy it, but opted for other back issues of X-Men and ASM instead, and after that one time, the friend didn't want to part with that book anymore. Both of us graded that book at about VF, before the days of CGC. To this day, it's the only copy I have ever held in my hands.

You have to have money to be able to acquire these... Then send them in to get graded, some for numerous times... Killer grades on some epic grails! That AF 15 is my dream book! Super jealous!

I believe Vince Sullivan published Magazine Enterprises when he left DC Comics. Dick Ayers started at ME on Ghost Rider and went to Marvel . I believe he was the contact for Atlas/Marvel of getting the character of Ghost Rider which was the only character I’m aware of that they got from ME.

Its a but of a humbling experience to see you hold up a few books that exceeds the entire value of my collection....and I own grails... just much lower grades. Hulk #1... A.F #15...Giant Size Xmen #1....im speachless. Thanks for showing those gems.

Hey Dave, yes I told you a few times I have amazing fantasy 15 6.0 I bought that for $4000. No Marvel chipping it looks much better I showed it to Heritage. It was great in 20 years ago.. I was offered $100,000 cash in October at the New York comic con. It’s the wallpaper to my iPhone I am not selling it.. anyway, congratulations🥳🥳🥳

I kind of regret the opportunity in 1986 to buy two VF+ copies of Amazing Fantasy #15, friend picked up out of a collection and wanted $500@...had a similar condition Hulk #1..less price :-). And it wasn't that didn't have funds...just figured I would find in wild...:-)...

If you want to collect comic books with Matt Fox covers, you won't have to chase down very many. Fox actually only did a few covers. His work on the inside of comics is easier to find, and definitely worth a look (and therefore better if not slabbed, of course). That would include mostly Atlas precode horror books and some Atlas postcode suspense. There was also one Matt Fox Atlas cover, too (Mystery Tales # 22), but it doesn't resonate like the Chilling Tales covers do. You can also find Fox's cover paintings on issues of Weird Tales. I used to pick those up when I bumped into them, but don't see them as often now. A lot of Fox's Weird Tales covers seem similar to those Chilling Tales covers he did. As a further note, TwoMorrows published a book on Fox, written by Roger Hill, in 2023, which probably has as much information about Fox & his work as you could hope to find anywhere.

I don't even geek out on Spiderman like it seems 80% of comic book folks do, but I wasn't expecting an AF15. Would love to see more books that are "off the beaten path", but cool stuff either way.
