I've been a comic book dealer for nearly 15 years. This is just my insight into comic books as an investment and other financial advice. Please check out my website for my comic available. If you would like to sell your comics on my site, please sign up to be a dealer through our site.
Thanks 😊. “94-“99, bought $20-$25./week. Never read. Mylar/Backer,then long box. Still there. Store owner pull the picks, out of his weekly new 🆕 Shipment. Probably got all those that aren’t worth nothing. But I don’t know, never went through to price them ?!
I've got a question and an idea for a video. I have about 8,000 comic books. But I don't remember what's in those long boxes. Is there an app or an easy way to catalog/inventory them? Or do have to make an excel sheet and manually list everything? Could you recommend some apps and share with the community what you do with your stuff?
Good thing I collect comics because I enjoy them, not for an investment. I have a King Comics 45, and I just enjoy telling folks that I have a pre-war Popeye comic.
. . . except that this Batman was racist as fuck. Yeah, it was World War III, but still. And his costume looked like it was sewed by his teenaged sister.
So we go from conservative-extremist censoring to today's liberal-extremist censoring which now thanks to computers will as well track and regulate what we do...

*_"Fabio on the back cover" is also an indication on rarity/variant in many books; but I can't remember if that copy you have was one of them? It at least points to which print run/edition._*
Oh would you advice me running my TMNT #1 1ST PRINT In a 9.6 in auction or hold amd sell to individual. I thought about sending it to you to sell in your auction dave. Any advice would be appreciated. Gotta buy my daughter a place she just moved to New York to start college. So selling off a few big books
Not all whitmans are that rare or valued. That one is particularly because of how scarce it is but there are lots of Whitman books that are quite cheap
Dude, I enjoy your videos and comic content, but it would benefit you to take a public speaking or speech class. Half the video is fluff...do I care about fast food prices? If you don't know what the foreign name is on ASM 238, look it up beforehand. If you have no idea what Whitman comics were in the old days, look it up and present it to the audience. Its painful to listen to you talk about comic stuff and admit you don't know what it is. Do your homework beforehand...this just comes off like a rich kid showing off his fancy expensive toys and not knowing the story behind them.
Yes very very happy. As I recall I did make a video telling people to invest like 3mo ago I think. But I’m in it for the long term. Haven’t sold a single share other than to buy my house 3 years ago. I buy shares every month. Have been for years.
Panda Express tip: for SoCal, every time Dodgers win at home, $5 discount on order (code DODGERSWIN). They won last night, so have my dinner all set for $5.50!
I just bought my first variant cover, Uncanny X-Men #1 JIM LEE Secret 1:50 Variant. I'm a huge Rogue fan, so no regrets, if it ends up being worthless.
It’s Total horse 💩 that grade and that price some idiot paid that much haahahahah. Il bet this will be the only 9.9 that ever shows up because good ol Mr Pink must of made a deal with CGC not to do another 9.9.. the whole hobby is corrupt with these grading companies
That first book the Spider-Man movie is such a strange book. Very big surprise. I have a 9.8 cgc unsigned. What do you think the difference in price is?
I agree that this should have sold for 250k+. But there is a lot of uncertainty with this book. How did it get a 9.9? Surely it wasn’t sitting out as a raw copy ungraded for decades. Surely it wasn’t a 9.8 that got cracked and cleaned pressed (too much risk in that 24k decision). So it was a 9.4/9.6 that got upgraded. Another risk being that what will CGC do, if they lax on decades of grading work just for the sake of resubmission dollars. So could others get 9.9s and 10s? A lot of questions, and the general feel for this particular book in the market along with who got the grade, and the timing of it, is questionable and hated on. But in general, this 9.9 should have gotten a lot more just based on historical numbers.
