As some have pointed out, Ancient Copper Dragon should have been on this list. At $69.99, it would have been at #7.

I think these lists would be more interesting if you took the cheapest printing of each card into account for the list. It keeps it from being just a list of red cards from old sets and actually lets you see what red cards justify their price with both power and scarcity.

I'm not convinced it would change much of anything on the list, TBH? He's already limiting it to one per set, and the reserved list being a *thing* really dictates the price floor of a lot of cards price points. Edit: in fact, I'm convinced doing this would actually push several of the newer cards out and more of the reserved list cards onto the list because cards like Dockside Extortionist would drop off the list while other old sets would take its place for having only a handful of printings.

This is my exact thought whenever nizzahon does a "most expensive" list. Sure technically X card has an expensive printing but I can get it for 10 cents from a bulk binder.

honorable mention to Shichifukujin Dragon that is a unique card that only was printed once and is in a museum in Japan. If it was ever put on the open market it would sell for something comparable to the one of One Ring.

I remember Shivan Dragon was regularly going for $20 at my LGS. We all thought that was premium for a card game. Those $10 Dual Lands were just lands, but a 5/5 pumpable dragon for $20? Only for the rich kids. Us peasants were stuck getting our Dragon Whelps to fly. For old time's same, I ran a Shivan Dragon in Red Deck wins for standard. Very satisfying playing it at the right time and getting the opponent to scoop. At the time of the meta, there wasn't much in the air that could beat it. Would board it out against decks with tons of removal though.

You should do this for every color, then add the totals (could include lands and artifact if you want) and do a top ten or notes with the results

I got dockside in a pack handed out to me in a Caverns of Ixalan pack as a prerelease attending gift. I am fairly new and had only one EDH deck at the time, but it was Korvold, Fae Cursed King. So you know where my dockside is now!😂

Blood Moon isn't in 4th Edition, but it is in Chronicles, where it uses the same art.

Mijae Djinn isn't on the reserve list, and was reprinted in revised, where you can get one for under a dollar.

Ali from Cairo is an interesting one. At least in the Southern California groups, there was a brief period where a decent number of people were playing creatureless decks with Ali in the sideboard. The plan was to sideboard Ali in after your opponent sideboarded out his removal. Just the presence of the card in your sideboard meant your opponent had to keep at least one potentially useless card in his deck.

I feel like world enchantments could be brought back, maybe change the ruling so each player can have one, but even without that this could be a way to limit powerful cards a bit.

I have a couple Falling Stars that I got in the 90s. I played them frequently in casual groups, and yeah they're pretty worn as I imagine almost all are besides recently opened pack fresh copies

Mijae Djinn and Ydwen Efreet are, surprisingly, not on the Reserve List! Mijae Djinn was even printed in Revised!

Legends also had Kobold Taskmaster, Drill Sergeant, and Rohgahh of Kher Keep so at least your Kobolds of Kher Keep stood a chance as 3/4 first striking tramplers. Yes, that's a lot of infrastructure for a single creature type but let's keep in mind that at the same time all Goblins had was Goblin King and that didn't stop people from building tribal Goblin decks, lol.

(6:59) The Chronicles version of Blood Moon uses this same art, and that's only like $9. (10:19) Whoops, you accidentally copied over the prices from the Legends cards onto the screen for the Arabian Nights cards without updating their values.

No "Copper Red Dragon" on the list? Personally it's my most expensive red card and last time i checked was valued at more than 50€ so i was surprised not to see it on the list. Cheers

I was expecting Ancient Copper Dragon as well. It's shown as being at least $56 on Scryfall right now, and at least $65 on Card Kingdom, which is way more than the $35 for the Fiendish Duo shown at #10 here. Did he simply overlook Ancient Copper Dragon by accident?

@@SomeGuy712x It seems to be just a mistake on his side, however the card is popular enough to be well known by folks who play MTG especially because it was released not too long ago. I guess the copper dragon is not standard legal but most listed cards also aren't. I guess he'll update ideo with some text explaination so the new video won't be required. Cheers

Ahhh Red, I'm not really a fan of its playstyle much. But seeing that some of these cards are just absurd in how expensive they are, and Blood Moon has ruined more than one 99 lands EDH game for me. But hey, given how pricey some of the cards are, maybe they have a chance of making it onto "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)"!

Ah Fork! So many shenanigans during the early days of magic. However, so many rules discussions... Does it copy X? Do I have to pay X again? What about a variable number of targets? What about non-target decisions? What about extra casting costs?

Please start acknowledging that old school (93/94) is a format that some people play and that it does affect prices for cards from that time frame! Ydwen Efreet for example is a respectable attacker that is hard to remove, Shivan Dragon is the only mono red beefy flyer tthat exists in that format and Falling Star also sees some play.

SHivan Dragon is the best argument why the reserve list must be demolished. It is a hihly reprinted card, even not that good. But still woth a lot of money

Worth noting that Card Kingdom employees have been unionized for a while, while TCGplayer just recently unionized AFTER they were illegally union-busting. I'm just saying it's something to consider. Complaining about CC prices vs TCGplayer, for example, is like complaining that an American-made shoe company that pays their employees a living wage has such high prices compared to Nike, who uses Asian wage slaves.

⁠@@keithmiller597Well. Thats bullshit. A lot of cardmarket sellers run a whole business with fair prices(just slightly overpriced). When i can get a card from sellers via ebay or cardmarket for close to half the price why would anyone want to use cardkingdom? If they would sell more they wouldnt need to make the cards that absurdly expensive AND could pay fair wages. Its a choice not a need. You dont need to raise prices by 80% and more to run a business model and if u need to your business model sucks and scams customers.
