I've been watching this pedal since it came out, your review made me even more excited... I do understand the technicality of getting a signal (ABS) from the system and then activating the pedal servo, but I would like to know what is the feedback on NON ABS cars. In the real world, in a non abs car, once you brake then you feel a certain resistance in the pedal, and then when it locks up you would feel kind of a little drop of the pedal, is this true with the Simucube active pedal? Dan, could you give us your impressions of non abs cars? Also maybe some rain conditions testing. Great video btw!!

@wayne5ww

From what I understand they can't support that in iRacing as iRacing does not send wheel rotation telemetry. I wish they did. For non ABS cars I am having a hard time seeing the benefit of this as a brake pedal.
@frankderks1150
@frankderks1150 2 месяца назад
There is a new effect in the software brake threshold vibration where you can set feedback as percentage of the game input. It's not giving feedback from a wheel lockup but it's handy to get feedback when you hit for example 75% in iRacing to feel when you approach 80%.

I don't see the purpose of a gas pedal with this system, but the brake for sure should be a game changer. Also the clutch makes sense as every car has a different clutch feeling I guess. But you should get around only with the brake and improve your times a lot if this is really supported properly in the simulator. They should offer profile for cars/games that you can optimize.
@DrR1pper
@DrR1pper Год назад
Damping adds an additional resistive force that scales linearly with the speed of the pedal travel. So you only feel/notice it when you try to change the pedal position quickly enough. Increasing the damping will increase the magnitude of the resistive force and bring on the starting point of noticeability of it at a lower pedal travel speed. Friction adds a constant level of resistive force whenever the pedal has non zero speed. It does not increase or decrease in strength depending on how quickly the pedal moves though (but that's what damping does) except if/when the pedal stops traveling and then it instantly drops to zero. So Friction is an understandably difficult one to notice how it is affecting things because of its binary nature.

11:40 This is what initially got me really excited for these petals. I've always wanted a longer traveling brake pedal but you really cannot do that with traditional sim racing pedals because you are constrained to the way they are all constructed and how you get the input/outputs out of the pedal. If you want a stiffer pedal you almost always get less travel out of it. I would 100% get one of these pedals just to have a brake set up the way I want it but it's just too much for me to be ok putting down on a hobby item. Maybe in the future.
@amigoz3201
@amigoz3201 Год назад
What nonsenses you speak? You can not get big travel on traditional simpedals? You wanna have brake travel from Miami to Paris?:))) just get VRS or Meca hydraulics and forget this shit from simucube, watch some videos from guys those have problems with this pedal and it is not what they like! Damn those stupid peoples nowadays are killing me, huminity is getting stupid day by day 😂
@DanSuzuki
@DanSuzuki Год назад
I tested a lot of pedals, typically if you want really high forces on the brake you need to go shorter travel, especially on elastomer pedals otherwise you will break the elastomers. so I'd say on most pedals you can just do miami to lisbon only.

@wullxz

@@DanSuzuki I just wonder how "good" that feeling would be because I imagine replicating that "clicky" feeling of a kickdown implementation would still be hard to nail? I know it has no use in ACC or iRacing but I'd still like to know how "good" you could implement that (for shits and giggles)

@vt6020

I agree that it’s over-engineered for the average sim racer, but I can see how they could be useful for someone who races irl, and wants to replicate the car they’re driving.

I think these are game changers, for sure. The ability to make changes to the pedal feel, position etc. with a mouse click is insanely useful. The downside is that they are way beyond the budget of most sim racers.
