I'm honestly completely fine with this being a Leader class, there are no hollow spaces, and there are a TON of accessories, it honestly feels like its worth the price
Haha yeah the commander class rodimus does feel like a scam with the big trailer but at least u have a trailer. This guy was just made pretty and now is leader class. I find it hard to justify this jump in class.
@@eiienzero1 Class is determined by more than perceived mass or plastic content. You need to factor parts count, intricate engineering, and paint applications. It may suck on the surface level, but we're (generally) paying more for higher fidelity toys.
Technically kingdom rodimus would be a leader class. If we really wanted the commander class comparison, motormaster is probably closer to voyager class.
I like the optimus primals that have more steps to the transformation outside of the head changing and standing upright. This one even lets you shift the arms aaround instead of just leaving his regular gorilla arms. Def going on my list
This is a leader class and I've looked at the one previous to this Optimus primal which was a voyager and to tell you the truth I love this figure!!!! BOUGHT EM ON AMAZON AS SOON AS THEY HAD EM FOR SALE!!!!
@@eiienzero1 Yep, that includes the alt modes now. So much junk and hands hanging out the back of alt modes these days. It's a shame that they are inferior to figures released 5-10 years ago.
@@sigerlion8608 you know what I can’t stand about this figure.. it’s bad enough his gorilla legs are a mess… but this is the only gorilla prime without a monkey butt!!!
Just got mine 3 hours ago. Completely forgot I pre-ordered him when I didn't have anything in my account. Next thing I know once my pay comes in, a chunk is missing and amazon updates me about the purchase that I thought didn't go though. Kinda glad I didn't cancel it though cause this figure is fun to mess around with.
Hasbro made this a leader because he's a popular character and they knew people would shell out the money. They do the same with Star wars. Popular characters are given extra accessories and sold as "deluxe" figures
Its worth the price its a voyager extremely complex figure with not only high detail but a fully functioning chain accessory and like 6 other accessories that are great
I wouldn’t count the blades. They come with the voyagers. The extra bits are an axe 2 chains and a transwarp key. The details are nice but I rather they fix the problems with the figure before making it “extra” detail.
@@eiienzero1 I've not seen any real issues with the figure as I have yet to have it in hand but from others I've not seen an issue outside of size in beast mode even if that's exactly how it should be for the most part
I can get being annoyed by the price but tbf the boy is dense af and is a damn good figure. The truth is, this is still kind of a ripoff but it doesn't matter to hasbro as long as we keep buying so we can't really complain.
If you pay close attention. His transformation is the same as transmetal Optimus primal but fancier. This begs the question. Why not all figures like this. I would love it.
i can feel the room the higher budget gave the designers but damn if figures aren't getting way too expensive. what kid is gonna be able to get this with lawnmowing/snowshoveling money?
The ironic thing is that kids will let them get away with their design flaws but adult collectors will notice. If you price the figures higher then you target the older audience more.
He is the same size as ss102BB Rise of the Beasts Optimus Prime. Taller than the mainline version but way smaller than the Takara Weaponizer Awakening Optimus Primal. He is in scale with the rest of the studio series Maximals! They line up really well.
That thing had its price jacked up by chrome paint and chrome paint alone. It had the lamest trailer for any truckformer and an ungodly amount of "we really only let this bake in the oven for half as long as we should have". The legs do nothing for transformation, they couldnt even be bothered to retool the legs so that you would have a 5mm port on both knees, the trailer hitch had every opportunity to be placed where it belongs (in the middle, loser to the shin vents) and just wasn't, the hip system was underdone, the wheels and bumper were egregiously underdone, they couldn't even be bothered to have multiple shade of the chrome paint that thing's price was so heavily reliant on, it attempted to copy shockwave's mono-boob, and they couldnt even be bothered to paint the face right. Not to mention that clearly the biggest concern was wether he should have blue eyes or yellow eyes because the rest of the toy was so flawless. While I don't have problems with the existance of faux-forming, I do have a problem with when the faux-forming looks ugly. Also the backs of the shins just had no direction. They had one guy who was tasked with filling in the shins and he had 57 ideas for what to do, and Hasbro couldn't even be nothered to look at the cad file until it was time to turn it into a mould. This is the most expensive voyager not only because it is a voyager at the leader pricepoint, but because you are getting the least bang for your buck compared to any other transformer ever. Hasbro was more than capable of fixing all this and simply didn't. That toy was a rushed production and it shows. Everyone who said it was worth more than 35 dollars in earthrise era money was blind to this. And because everyone was part of this group, the aftermarket has only served to increase the price.
Also I am not saying it was a bad toy, just that it was in no way worth asking price and was very clearly a rushed production. If you manage to get it for under 40 dollars, good on you. If you get it for significantly more than 40 dollars, you did get cheated out of your money and the sooner you stop taking copium, the better it is for your sanity.
Eh. I don't mind the price at all. It feels premium; has thick, solid parts; and both modes are amazing. Honestly, I won't mind seeing more of these "expensive voyagers" because it will open windows for smaller characters that need complex transformations.
@@eiienzero1 "Good" is subjective. Plus, the prices mainly rise because of inflation, same with other products. Other samples of overpricing can be said on some other figures, but not on this one (I think)
I just got it I give it a 8.5 because the price is 55$ which is really expensive and I’m a little disappointed in the gorilla legs because they are preaty bulky but I love everything else
@@eiienzero1 i wouldnt have cared honestly unless my gf and i wernt collecting not only that we only got him for 20 bucks at target because he didnt exist in the system and the customer service didnt know what it was and gave it to us for 30 bucks cheap (Ended up finding it as you said wraped up in the paper in the garbage 🤣🤣🤣)
I see what you did there. Calling something a name that it isn’t to try and show your personal disappointment while trying to be clever at the same time. You almost succeeded.
@@eiienzero1 doesn't change the actual class of the figure plus he has alot of accessories and the enginuity is there class isn't just about size these days
@thealienfrog bro, stop trying to defend this pathetic excuse of a "leader" class. He's tiny, and is even smaller than some voyagers. He's disgraceful and is a voyager
The only real complaint I have about this figure is that its head is inaccurate to the film. I hope DNA designs come out with a replacement for the head.
I buy 3rd party figs and their 7-8 inch voyagers are $25 with no gaps, a ton of accessories, and DIECAST. I'm tired of Hasbro apologists making excuses for them "oh no gaps! $60 justified!" What about the feet hanging out the back? Shouldn't Hasbro at least make the feet go into the legs for a small $60 fig? It's simple engineering. I am going to buy a 3rd party Primal for sure. Not gonna give my money to Hasbro.
I get what you mean. If their gonna charge me leader class price for a voyager then at least make it perfect. The gorilla legs are horrible every time I put him on all 4s
@@eiienzero1 Yep, my LimeToys LT-01 Ares (Stormbringer Optimus) just came in today. Cost me $58, which is cheaper than Primal after tax. 11 inches tall, diecast, LED lights, super articulated, no gaps, no feet or kibbles sticking out from the back. Pretty perfect.😉
Ha, ha, man, put names to those price tags. No 3rd party company is selling brand new Leader sized figures with tons of accessories, and diecast for $25 bucks unless the plastic sucks and the figure has no paint or is a straight copy of a Hasbro figure with the above issues.
@@enrique6335 Did I say "leader class"? You want to check your eyes? This figure is shorter than many voyager figures at 6 inches. So that's why the video is titled "The MOST expensive voyager". That's why I responded that I'm buying 7 inch VOYAGERS, taller than this fake "leader class" optimus primal. Go watch Prime Vs Prime's reviews on 3rd party figs.
@@sigerlion8608 You still didn't answer my question, And I didn't say "Leader class", either. I said "Leader sized" because 8-9 inches has been what leader class figures have usually been measuring for many years before Hasbro decided they could sell Voyagers with extra parts for the leader class. Just as most people call 6-7 inches Voyager sized.
