Mei I was watching the episode when she made the dress of fresh flowers and then had to redo it in the hotel room, and then the bride showed up and the groom and his boys were all in shorts and vests 🤯🤯🤯I was like "oh hell no" if he thinks for one second I'm spending all this money, time and effort not to mention she had to be brought in on a truck Boy Bye!!!!

she rarely shows the designs she made on this show on her site so... i think she knows they're tacky. the dresses on her site are gorgeous though, she's a very talented designer, these people just have bad taste

I'm sure its an opportunity to be creative. You can respect a different culture even if its not your own personal aesthetic. I'm sure she wouldn't choose it for her own wedding, but getting to go all out on someone elses dress and also to see how happy the customer is when they get it... can't not be a fun experience.

Mother Bleach lol I was being NICE! I could have said way worse. While I appreciate the time, work, effort it took to make those dresses, that second one just looked awful, my opinion. Do you follow the series? I’ve seen a ton of Gypsy dresses, that one was definitely not up to par.

7 violett I’m convinced that TLC pays for a portion of the cost. I follow the series and a lot of them live in low income housing, no way could they afford a dress like that. Unless they live very modestly in order to afford the parties, wedding, dress.

And I notice that for a lot of these weddings, these brides have invested probably THOUSANDS of dollars to create these custom gowns (that are tacky and ugly and do NOTHING to allow the bride's beauty to shine on her day) and then they BARELY have any wedding guests to see it. Why invest THAT MUCH MONEY in a gown if no one is there to appreciate it? And some of the grooms/grooms men look even MORE ridiculous.

From what I’ve seen on the show the wedding is the most important part of a Gypsy‘s girls life. So they probably save up just for that bc that’s the priority. Or the material is cheap, or they get the hook up bc it’s the same lady doing the dresses in each episode. The weddings are always cheap too. So the dress seems to be the most important part

I think that is probably what happens. After all, she can make many dresses from the material in just one. Good question.

They sell each dress after the wedding to save up for their other 5 daughters lol ( I’m just kidding I have no idea)

The dad saves up for his daughter. They usually start saving when they’re 7-9 year old( maybe younger), then they’ll have enough money to spend, sometimes the future husband will chip in as-well. They live “poor” so the daughter will have enough to spend on on a dress. Also, not every gypsy wedding has extravagant dresses. The dress with alot of rhinestones on them, get taken off ( the crystals) and resold to another gypsy who sells it back to Sandra, who pays them for it and then they’re re used again. But alot of these weddings are staged and fake. 50% of the time they just grab someone to have a fake wedding. Then the dresses are resold to Sandra celli to dismantle and re use again, other time they keep them somewhere else then their homes. Gypsys care about their reps more than anyone so wearing the same dress twice is a death sentence to them
