Hi Lara how far are behind real time are we on these recent vlogs as it's late Feb now and you say its Dec/Jan in them? I'm thinking you may have moved by now? (So exciting if you have) Please can you consider putting a message on screen saying when they were filmed, would find that helpful. Toys are good to go to a family food bank, as are kids clothes Xx

Lara, I am so happy for you all. As you get ready to upsize we are getting ready to down size and like you the loft fills us with dread. I have raised 8 children in our home and over 20 Foster children. I will be so sad to leave but excited to begin our new chapter. Much love to your beautiful family 👪 ❤

I LOVE watching moving decluttering videos! Be ruthless about getting rid of things you don't a tally use or are not extremely sentimental. Get rid of the engagement cards but keep your Hen Do scrapbook. Think twice when your in your new house about shoving things in the attic/loft because you don't want to ha e to deal with them!

This is brilliant! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone declutter a loft that’s similar to ours 😂 Everyone’s lofts always seem to be interest worthy rather than realistic so it’s nice to see. Realistic decluttter of a loft space! It’s inspired me to carry on with ours 🙂 can’t wait to see all the moving content xx

I used to joke that everyone needs to move at least every 5 years so that we are forced to declutter! Have to say the 5 year thing was a joke because I have now found my "forever home" so now I joke that it doesn't matter how much clutter I accumulate someone else will have to sort it out one day!!!

Yes you need to be ruthless with sorting I used to keep cards and never ever got them out to look at..its ridiculous the stuff we keep that never sees the light of day! Good luck with everything

I found a woman on easy who cut my wedding cards and framed them in a beautiful design, now they're on display and I can see them everyday. And their don't clutter my attic 😊 x

We don't have a loft, which eradicates the problem straight away. When we moved from a house with a loft it forced me to rethink what we actually used and we got rid of everything else. Suitcases went under the bed and the Christmas tree in the built in under the t.v. that was it. I watched a video on decluttering where the lady said if you are worrying about a space that you can't actually see then you know you have too much stuff x keep up the great vids, you are doing a an amazing job. Yorkshire is cheering you on x

I literally had my loft cleared in November I’m now doing a packing party with 30 boxes to start with to put all the stuff I should have in the loft up there SUCH ALOT OF WORK!!! But will be soo worth by it when I get my home all clean and redecorated!!

Good luck with the declutter when you get in the loft it is like a black hole, never ending but you will get there, we are clearing lots of stuff out of our loft but for a different reason, now l am getting older hubby and l are trying to be a bit more minimalist we said we do not want there to be loads to sort out when we are no longer around for our two sons to sort out, really excited for you all a new home, wonderful xx

Good work! I gave up putting clothes in the loft years ago when I realised I was actually never going to wear them again anyway! I am always surprised at how fussy the charity shops are *donations please", "no more donations", "2 bags only" etc so now I put everything in the clothing bank as it's just easier. Our loft is empty these days but I am not sentimental so rarely hang onto anything. I am looking forward to following your progress!

Me too, since I moved into my current home the loft isn't easy to get into, so mine is empty too, much better that way means that I no longer hoard rubbish.

Love a good declutter. Have you tried the website icollect clothes? They collect anything your going to donate to a charity shop, you choose which charity you’d like it to go to and then just book a slot and package it up xx

At least you remembered to clear your loft when we moved from our previous house we only remembered on the day. I wanted to cry as there was so much stuff up there I had kept from my first baby to use for my second. Since then I have done a huge declutter of my loft and it's pretty organised now.

Laura you are getting distracted.. Put all your photos, cards etc in a memory box for you.. Each person should have a memory box.. Then later.. Eg as a Winter project, you can take time to go through and decide what to do.. I put cards in a scrapbook etc. My kids each have a plastic box with hang files.. One for each school year.. From birth to 18yrs old..i just drop their cards, special pictures/paintings etc in there.. Later they can decide to keep or throw (and they can take photos and make a photo book if they want to).

That is so funny, I actually feel like I don't have as much stuff as I thought. Least the old isn't following you. I've nearly been married 30 years together 32 I have all the letters we went when courting and all the engagement and wedding cards. I was so happy to find a Christmas card I kept from my friend who sadly died last year, so glad I have it.

You’re on the home straight now you’ve done the loft Lara, when we moved our loft took me a week and 17 trips between the charity shop and the recycling centre 😳 now I only keep memory boxes and Christmas things in the loft 😂

I don’t envy you having to do all that packing! We moved last June and I started packing initially in the December! My legs hurt so much from running boxes up and down the stairs, never ever want to do that again lol and then there’s the top to bottom clean that follows 😩 best of luck to you both it’s been a long time coming x

So exciting! Have a look at The Organised Mum Method if you need any hints and tips for the move, Gemma has them on her blog and saved my SANITY! Right down to what to pack and when, how to transition to the new house with your essentials etc. Ahh so pleased for you! 😆 We got a skip when we were ready to clear the loft and garden, it’s freeing being able to clear out so much so quickly. I’ve been doing the same again this week, unpacking around 30 boxes and asking the children what they want to donate vs keep - 2 boxes of rubbish and 4 of charity! Really hope you get to exchange the contracts nice and smoothly really soon! 🏡🌈

Few years back we had our loft insulated so had to b clear. We had so many memories; little tiny baby DM’s, silver baby kickers, odd shaped bits of pottery etc. But I threw the whole lot out. You cannot keep everything for ever. All I have in our loft now is my wedding dress (been married 32 years) in a suitcase and a load of spiders lol. It was sad but feels good it is clear. Xxxx.

Hiya, i know you filmed this some time ago but if you are still stuck with unwanted items and the charity shops are not accepting anything another idea for you or your viewers could be to take them to local womans refuges. I know they are not always easy to find for obvious reasons but if you live near one and know of the location that could be helpful. Womans and childrens clothes or toys are always needed. On another note so pleased you are on your next chapter of buying your home xx

Well done. Did you keep the engagement cards? I still have mine from 38 years ago 🤣I find it hard decluttering I worry I will need something I throw out and at the time of deciding wether to keep or get rid I think of how much I have paid for it. That’s a mistake I feel. Look forward to you decluttering the kitchen xx
