Thanks for the review. I think I'll finally buy them after a year of considering.

Thanks for a really simple and honest appraisal! 😀🙏 I found out about G8s through Cam Nichols channel too, and was really taken with the idea of something flexible and modifiable too. I've always had really high arches, in particular I think my arch height even differes slightly in heights between the two feet as whilst I've had a lot of success with pre-made insoles in my hiking boots for example for long distance climbs, like you, the fit has never been exactly right. I've yet to receive mine (they're ordered and in the post atm) but having the option to tweak the arch support of each foot separately might just be a game changer for me! Thanks a lot, was just the review I needed to confirm a few things. Best wishes, Gavin

Nice 👍 I’m sure they’ll work out well for you. My one big piece of advice is to choose the size and placement of the arch support carefully. And this is even more important if using Metdomes. One size up or down can make a big difference. As does the fore/aft position. I made a few adjustments before I nailed the fit. The G8s offer almost an infinite amount of adjustment, which is great, but it also means it takes time to find the setup perfect for your feet. You want to feel a little bit of support but nothing so strong as to cause pressure points. Good luck!

I bought these insoles and they caused an increase in medial knee pain. Even at the lowest level of arch support (L1/R1) I find the arch support too aggressive. I am not sure how I could ever get to level 5. I do not mind the foot pain I got when I used them as it was muscle pain, but the knee pain was a joint pain.

I guess the fit is very much dependent on the person. But if Level 1 is too much arch support, maybe your feet just don’t need it. I have a high arch, so I absolutely need support under my feet. Too little and it does nothing. Too much and it causes pain. I’ve settled on the L4 and I get more stability and better power transfer with them. Your experience with the arch support is like my experience with the G8 Metdomes. The placement had to be spot on or it was quite painful. In the end, I found I was just as good without them, so I ditched the Metdomes.
