My dad does US Army combatives, was a drill Sargent, field artillery, and still going on 24yrs. We work out together a lot. So I’m a lean 10% body fat 5’3” kid on a 165(+/-) lean man and this worked. My coaches constantly put me up against heavier dudes by about 20lbs so this helps tremendously
Your videos have so much value! Really helps my stand up game when training no gi. This some really practical stuff man I appreciate the shared knowledge.
I went back and watched a video where my son was having a hard time getting around on this kid where he was using the arm block. A few times this happened and my boy couldn't score. I see now where his head was to high and not on the other side so he was losing control.
1. Do you have to start from the double overhooks or can you proceed from a standard FHL position? 2. How do you handle your opponent circling his hips away as you work behind?
Avoid going to the front headlock, as it gives your opponent an opportunity to grab your triceps in an effective way. Circling the hips away is normal, but there are a lot of different ways they might move, so it's difficult to describe. I go over all of the common responses in my videos.
Damian Ilescas the USA colored shoes are called the asics combat speeds. I think they are the best wrestling shoe. They do the job and are inexpensive.
Oh ok I was looking for some new shoes, for this season and I just found them. Thank you Jason Layton by the way I love your videos I know if I'm struggling with something I can always just come to your channel for help
