@@DJFAT1991 But the fact that he damage checked the Over Trigger which basically turned the game over to his favor shows why Global Players are iffy towards Over Triggers.
@@clydejp5047 Still he needed 2 extra heal not to die .The game was over. Luck is a factor in this game and he was lucky . I think the overtrigger exist to counterbalance the huge consistency boost with the ride deck. To make the game more fun. I personally like this gimmick but I kinda understand that in competitive play it is annoying but not game breaking through .
@@DJFAT1991 True. It just feels like the game has gone a little bit over the Luck side. I just hope in future they won't print cards that increase the consistency of hitting OTs. Imagine hitting the OT at the very beginning of your game and then that would mess up your opponent's game plan throughout the whole match. I would cry if I was your opponent haha. Edit:just
@@SoniChris98 Yeah one thing about Vanguard is that both players technically carry the same amount of RNG bs. It's easier to remember the one clutch RNG compared to the same level of RNG the other player got earlier on in the duel when it's unsure how much it'll matter later. Though yeah sometimes one player gets overwhelmingly luckier than the other player. It doesn't happen as often as people think though, cuz good Vanguard players always go far
So a lot of people have asked why I attacked with the Marjorie which was 33k over the Brody which was 30k first. Looking back, I should have attacked with the Brody first (now knowing that he had 2 cards in hand and not 3). At the time, I assumed he had 3 cards in hand. If I had attacked with the Brody first, then he would drop 2 cards to guard (2x 5k shields), which then turns on the perfect guard to guard my last attack. If I swing Marjorie first, then he is forced to use the perfect guard and discarding one of the 5k shields. This would mean that he couldn't guard my Brody with 1 card left in his hand (unless it was another perfect guard which it wasn't because of his previous drive check). His hand was a perfect guard and a 5k shield. If I attacked with Brody, he would still take the Brody, 6 damage healed and perfect guarded my Majorie which in turn wouldn't have changed his attack plan for the following turn. Optimising for if I had another turn, attacking with Brody first is correct. Best case scenario for me would have been, if I got another turn, he would have one less perfect guard. Remote fight and lighting sometimes makes you assume that your opponent has 3 cards in hand when they have two haha Definitely something I will remember going into Spring Fest :)
Reminds me of the first 3 games of oveDress I played against my friend. Every single game I got a 6th damage heal and the 3rd game I also saw a 6th damage overTrigger. I didn't win all the games but still, sacking is a thing that one needs to be prepared for lol
Wait one question when dean got his 5th damage as an over trigger the stoichea one should have healed his damge first right then all the other effects then get bound leaving him at 3 damage not 4 correct? Or did i misunderstand something or misunderstand the overtrigger mechanics?
This game just feels like playing against my friend. He as done these sort of things allot. Like double heal. back in G it wasn't uncommon for him to triple crit with Nouvel. Stuff like that, but every game. Last game of overDress he pushed from 2-6 in one turn with a double crit, winning his first G3 turn.
Me, after watching the match: “The overtrigger was just a bump in the road for Derick, and the double heal legitimately stole the win from him. That match was crazy.” My brain: “you should go in the comments section and complain about overtriggers anyway”
I experience something like this in tournament. My opponent final heal 3 FREAKING TIME in 1 game and I lost. It's the worst that you lose even tho you did perfectly well bc of final heal and OvT check. This is why I don't like OvT in competitive. Yes, it makes the game more unpredictable but losing bc of it when you play better feels the worst.
over triggers are so bad because there is no punish you don't lose anything i think the only way to fix the over trigger is to have a generic grade 1 that allows you to place a card from soul hand or drop on top of deck if your opponent gets and over trigger this would nullify it an make it a control able part of the game which make it more skilled. why is chess more skilled that every other game because no luck I like games where you can balance the luck the ride deck was great for this makes more games blanced
