I wonder what will happen to skate culture after a couple people die during future events like these. It just seems like there’s bound to be a fatal head injury at some point the way they all go without waiting for the other dudes to even finish their trick. I never understood that. Why jump on a rail that someone is currently still grinding? Like just wait a second. It’s so weird to me. Also, just another random dark thought, but have any of y’all wondered why there have never been any mass shootings at a skatepark? It’s kinda so terrible I don’t even want to say it out loud. But just think how that could totally become a reality. Like even if it just happened once, I feel like it would forever change the skate culture. It’s weird to think about. I really can’t say what the future of skating is. I feel like skating is like the porn industry. Just in the sense that it’s so weird that it is the way it is. Like why is porn always so stupid? Why do skaters always do stupid shit like not wait for a person to finish grinding before they jump on? Why is going pro just when a skater gets their name on a deck? Why does their skating have anything to do with it when in reality, a company sponsors a pro to bring in sales, and anyone can bring in sales to a company in any number of ways outside of being good enough or deserving to be called pro. It’s so strange. So many dumb things.
As primary school teacher, I would like to show this for my colleagues. :D They like that everybody should always move around on lines and anything else is too chaotic. ;)
