@@SonicTheory96 Wonder if they’ll ever bring back the SatAM/Archie Characters, maybe as from an alternate reality or as part of the classic reality? (Saw several clips & episodes on RU-vid; did research on the comics on youtube [several audio/motion comic dramas, story reviews & lore videos] & fandom wiki pages; never bought the physical comics however.)
If they ever make an R Rated Sonic story, they would definitely use Mimic in this, especially with his combat knife and how he will use it to assassinate his victims.
In my opinion, if SEGA was to bring this character back and I to a game, I don’t think he’d be in any game with Sonic as the main character. But in a Shadow the Hedgehog game? THAT I can’t definitely see Mimic going in.
I’m imagining a dinner party scenario hosted by Vector’s crew but somehow they could afford a dark and creepy mansion, invited everybody including Eggman, then power out where Charmy is dead and everybody had to figure out the killer, not previously knowing who Mimic is beforehand and not knowing about his shape shifting. To be clear this would presumably be a hit by secretly Eggman or somebody hiring Mimic and not just some random assassination day for him
@@theaprilsonlyfool why not charmy? Side character with barely any relevance to the story at hand but enough relevance to get the plot started. Could be anybody on the side character group really.
@@Sonic546416 He is literally a detective, a very good detective. He found out almost instantly that the one hiring them in Heroes is Eggman. They would also know who Mimic is, so it would be even easier to avoid him.
Mimic and Whisper really are my favorites from IDW. But, this raises a question... What if he got his hands on a Wispon that uses Nega-Wisps rather than normal ones like Whisper's Wispon?
Ah yes, an assassin that tried to instead of killing sonic, became him, and muddied his name. Such acts included chao football, Taking shadow's advice and stealing candy from a baby, and spraypainting walls with Eggman logos.
You know, Ian Flynn was one of those Archie comics writers, who remembered Sonics "dark" origin from SatAM, so when he started all this, I was quite sure he would nail new arcs perfectly. Like, hell, he did make Deadly Six great characters instead of what SEGA gave us in SLW, this is one of the brightest emeralds in whole Sonics crew.
I'm from the future. Sonic Frontiers has an amazing story and almost wins the Goty, but the GoW: Ragnarök comes out the next day and almost leaves Sonic in the dust, but it's so amazing cause brings back a more mature Sonic, the bosses battles are amazing, great cinematics and the soundtrack give you chills, like playing SA or SA2 for the first time, but in an open world. Also, thru the story they explain why the world seems like having random things of Sonic into a open space.
I don't have anything against Mimic, but at the same time, Dr. Starline made Surge & Kit the way they are today & Dr. Eggman had almost infected the whole world with the metal virus as well as Zavok & the Deadly Six. So I mean...
Existence of Metal Gear Solid references in IDW/Sega JPN/US Canon implies Ian Flynn's acknowledgement of Boss's Will Sonic Force Heroes : Knights of Liber-tea
@@Hugo-yz1vbThat's not connected to the main story. It's a random piece of dialogue that's taken from a bunch of other snippets that Sonic can say when he's idle for too long or when he comes across certain locations, and even then, it's not guaranteed to show up. I never heard the line about Tangle once through my playthrough. Ian himself has also stated that the line itself is just a fun reference and not meant to be taken seriously. The open world dialogue bits are also where he had the most freedom in regards to the writing. The main story beats were provided by Sonic Team. Also, Flynn never directly stated that IDW Sonic was canon. He gave a vague answer saying he would not argue against people who said it was canon. Funny enough, he actually said the OPPOSITE on multiple occasions; _"I don't like saying that the comics are canon to the games in any capacity, just because the games take precedence, and if something changes on that end, the comics would have to reflect it, not the other way around."_
@@Assassin3110 They are not canon 1st The writers themselves said it 2nd The Sonic channel stories and Team Sonic Racing are the canon sequels to forces
I mean, we already had Sniper Wolf as a member of the good guys' secondary cast. Shame Vulcan Raven, Psycho Mantis and Revolver Ocelot got killed off, though.
Man I’m just realizing (thanks to the game apologist) that the Diamond cutters are pretty much the metal gear characters of the sonic universe. I mean we have silence and whisper, so it makes more sense to me that way lol.
Finally they add a new animal because this whole time I was thinking you know what they should add a octopus or a squid and see how would they look like and what can they do
Honestly, whispers story in the IDW comics is extremely depressing. Anyone reading this comment go check out the metal virus series, you won't regret it
Bro imagine an among us style sonic game.. where mimic is in the base stealing and leaking information on the resistances to the enemy.. And our job is to find out who he is, catch him and stop him before he destroys the resistances from the inside... I'll be down for that game! And they can't say its "not kid friendly and sonic is a kid friendly game." this time because AMONG US EXIST!!!! 😂✨
Wait... Sonic universe got hitman and rebellions? wtf happend to good old sonic games being super chill and bright? I mean, i´m not mad, just confused, are this comics cannon? where can i get them? Where can i read them? Are they worth the time?
Hey, guys, I'm sorry if I'm being a bit rude but I have something to tell Sega when did this comic come out? Because my story was about not really a hitman, but a mercenary named wolf in the sonic world. In a TV show known as sonic space. The reason why you guys never heard about this is because I'm telling about it now wolf was a mercenary who was sent by the matter x to spy on him but wolf wanted to kill him But in one part of the story wolf transforms into sonic by using a wrist watch that was given to him by doctor egg man. Again, it's a lot different. Then the shape shifter. Named mimic. But my problem is. Mimic did the exact same thing as wolf. And when I mean the exact same thing, this thing that wolf did. He joined egg man. He was a mercenary and he mimic sonic in one episode just to frame him and the reason he did it so he could get sonic out of his plan for killing eggman I came up with this idea in 2017 the year that sonic forces reslesed The only difference with my character and yours Yours joined eg man because he just wanted to join My character join egg man because he had a grudge on him again, I'm not mad at Sega for this, so don't take this personal.
Mimic has to die. There’s no question about it. Whisper is a victim of Sonic’s actions. The main reason that mimic betrayed his friends was because of eggman. If sonic had just killed him years ago, mimic would’ve never betrayed his team and the diamond cutters would still be alive.
Yeah, I wouldn't quite call him lethal. I mean, he failed to kill his target... once. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if he did succeed. I mean, this is IDW we're talking about, so you can expect pretty much everything...
