The Most Messed Up OP i've ever Zeused in Arma 3

Surprisingly, this is one of the most exciting and interesting OPs I've seen in a while here. It was all super intence and dynamic, that ambush at the beginning was fucking perfect execution.

Around 57-58 minutes in, I think this was hilarious. "I've spent two hours positioning these guys... You need to get everyone together- I've built this for a platoon to take, and right now we have half or a third of a platoon going to areas meant for an entire platoon.. And you really need to utilize your artillery and air strikes more often- Hold on, I need to kill one of your choppers cause he landed right next to my AT guy." Edit: I think this essentially summed up the entire OP with how these guys organized themselves. They weren't together, they were spread apart and weakened their ability to not just attack the enemy but also defend themselves when they get ambushed. Even furthering it, to irony at it's finest, a lack of organization and spreading thin led a stray chopper straight into the merciless hands of Liru and "my AT guy." Said lack of organization also led to the untimely, though hilarious, deaths of the "Vets" who is supposed to be better than the regular playerbase. Lastly, it is brilliant to watch your OPs, and the sheer quality of comedy mixed in with these OPs make it even moreso worth my while. Keep up the good work Liru, you're an amazing dude, and I wish you a merry christmas!

@Liru the Lance Corporal don't feel bad, they did this to themselves. In the beginning they seperated into like five or six different groups. Than they somewhat rejoined into three different groups, than they became two different groups. They attacked a obvious stronghold at less than half strength full of trees and out crops of rock. A perfect ambush and kill zone for defending forces. An made virtually no calls for support.

You did a fantastic job setting this up and placing the troops. You didn't make this "too hard," the mess is all due to their tactics. It was still very fun to watch.

1:16:48 Yeah, this failure was entirely realistic and entirely due to the playerbase's own decisions. No Recon is a death sentence all on its own. Divide and Conquer is an age old strategem. And they tied one of their own hands behind their back. This was a textbook example of what NOT to do. Like, some of these command blunders are straight out of a Karen Traviss novel.

How ridiculous was that request - take away thermals because we can't see thermal-resistant gear with them. That's the point of thermal-resistant gear. Using tech as a crutch for poor tactics will never work.

the only tactic of splitting your attack force that ever really works unless you MASSIVELY outnumber your enemy, going for the attrition of guerrilla warfare,or are insanely, insanely lucky is a pincer attack, and even then you are still attacking the same objective, just from different sides in an attempt to outflank them. this is not that. this is 'we are so much better, smarter, and lethal then our enemy they stand no chan*gets shot in the head*' level of tactics

I really respect that you didn't down the kajmin near the end as much as you should of you understood that it would of just droped the enjoyment of everyone way to much and that is the sign of a great GM

I noticed with my guys they player base at times don't want to walk too far and will try to land choppers way to close or drive-in too deep and then get pissed at me when they land within two to three hundred meters of an AO and get shit on by small arms fire and rockets.

I'd love to see a historical op on the Chechen wars, maybe the battle of Grozny or a patrol in the Caucasus.

Those were some mean spots, but damn separating a platoon to enter the jungle? DM may want to continue making the plans until top leadership and the player base adapt. Great op, I was hoping the player base would steam roll themselves, but you played super nice. :D GG

I like the Ambush part of this op it's fun to watch because they don't expect any ambush to be there

at the hour mark they'd probably would've went, ok Nope this isn't working we're pulling out if this was IRL if not even Earlier, such a waste of life, and an absolute Charlie Foxtrot, I Guess trying to force a rout wouldn't really have worked, I can imagine you being quite dismayed about this op, from watching your perspective It really looks well done and very cool, but the Players really weren't taking it intelligently and went off half cocked, and well that was shown I Guess you could've send in the Counter Charge and just send a Frantic message to ground to Pull back stating "Massive Troop movement In your AO You are in Terrible danger of being Overrun FALL BACK" and just have it Endex after the players had fallen back, or been slaughtered, and redo it later with a few tweaks and changes, you win some, you lose some, they partially managed the mission, and given the enemy a bloody nose,

I am confused you keep saying this was meant for a platoon but then you keep saying 60 people but could be done with no less than 40 people. A platoon is roughly 30.

Something I've learned is make a game that makes sense to you, the dumb it down for others.
