Just checked , some guy tied you today. The amount of ties really shows how each player has an optimised gamestyle or how the game is coded because everyone finishing on the same frame would be rare in any other game.
It's kind of interesting to me since, from what I recall, MK64 adjusts your time based on how much of your car is past the finish line on the frame you cross it, allowing for any time to be possible. I'm surprised that wasn't implemented in this game.
@@fahkyew7776I actually don't know if it's implemented in MKDS. But this run ends by crashing, so there's no finish line to cross to adjust based on how much your kart is past the line.
@@fahkyew7776 i don't know if it is implemented, but the timer is based off the ingame timer which crashes, i think. which means the game probably can't calculate for time then anyway
@@skyeplaysgames4598 probably , but it's very difficult for different cart/character combos and different inputs to lead to the exact same time (in frames). Also any time is possible but only if you finish without crashing
Dude, I played hundreds and hundreds of hours of this game as a kid, it's probably the game I played the most, and I'm just now finding out what that items stat means?!?! I somehow never realized that it determines how many items you get. That's crazy. Awesome video btw
It's always a treat to see/learn new stuff about these old games! This was as entertaining as ever, thanks for the constant content :D much appreciated 💕
oh my GOD i put this video in fullscreen and a youtube short started playing on a different tab bc this site is buggy as hell, i didnt notice though and thought your cat was constantly meowing through the video… i only realised something was amiss when i paused the video and the cat kept meowing…
0:26 that's me on the leaderboards!! the epic gamer is such a bad username LOL also I love to see creators expanding upon the extensions in mkds they're all cool and interesting in their own way and I think by far this is the funniest
Just had a look at the leaderboard... you got tied today! Are you going to try to get that sole 2nd place spot back, or are you happy with what you've achieved?
its definitely interesting how the leaderboard is grouped around a few different millisecond values. It'd make sense to be stuck on frame boundaries, but theres been both 333 and 331. Does it target 40fps, but not consistently?
Went to the leaderboard, and at least two were "inspired" by the video to completely shit on bean's accomplishment and put him down to 3rd place. There is even a .210 now. Idk if I'm impressed or sad. But still no one beat Towa, he is far gone.
@@AbsoluteLunatic123 I know, he is so hilarious. I got to tune into one of his streams for the first time about 3 weeks ago and I was one of the more active people in the chat.
this crash occurs due to there not being a sound cue and a missing file in the staircase kcl. fun fact: this doesn’t work on wii u virtual console or emulator. this only works on original ds or 3ds hardware. tested it out on my 3ds, dsi and ds lite
I’ve actually discovered ways to crash Super Mario Kart reliably by just playing completely normally (works on every version, physical and digital) and have been trying to convince the speedrunning community that crash% should be a thing for SMK. Maybe this will be the video that convinces them! :D I’ve technically been the only one to do this so I guess I’m the World Record holder for SMK crash% at ~1 hour
You really do put a lot of effort into your videos, and that’s really kind of you! Thanks so much man, have a great rest of the day! keep up you're awesome content!
FallBackITA27 tied your pb today so you're now tied for 2nd worldwide, saying "I started while watching Beanzard's video and finished during its outro lol, MKDS funny." You kinda got owned.
