Weapons are always going to be better against heavies like Destroyers. With the Scattershot + Shield Oscillator recharging shields, though, this build is pretty robust even without getting constant kills. One of my very favorite builds is similar to this, but even more robust and versatile. I like Sentinel (Lance/Annihilation/Energy Drain). Any armor full of Reaction Optimizers will do the job (+combo damage), but I favor the Hyperguardian Armor for it's huge boosts to Health, Shields, and Melee Damage. Lance is evolved the same way. For Annihilation, I choose 6b Vortex, since the shield boost would be overkill. Vortex levitates unprotected enemies, as well as their ruined pieces, creating great control and visuals. Energy Drain primes and detonates. It keeps health and shields constantly recharging, in combination with Team Support (Life Support) and other tech passives. Sentinel combines with this loadout to create a nearly unkillable Pathfinder. Fusion Mod of Adrenaline keeps the loop going without interruption. Since I'm using Energy Drain and Tech Support, I can carry an ultra-high damage weapon with a bioconverter, such as an autofire Hornet or Hesh. After all, sometimes you need to shoot something. Even though I'm fully optimized for Combo Damage, those guns are so OP that they still dominate. For Architects or whatnot, it's easy to swap into a weapons-user Favorite for a moment.

I'm in the works of editing a video for a new build that is the highest damage I've seen so far. This one will be very good against Bosses / High HP targets. I hope I'll get it ready within the next few hours/

RokWisdawn Singularity/Throw/Lance. Spec for combo damage and use an AR instead of a shotgun. (Check out his Patch 1.09 update to his super soldier build for ideas on how to build/augment the AR.) Use the Fusion Mod of Biotic Mastery: the Fusion Mod of Adrenaline benefits Throw and Lance but makes the cooldown for Singularity unacceptably long. Throw has a short enough cooldown as it is, and just spec Lance to use shields instead. In passives go for shield regeneration instead of max shields as Khraze says here--Lance will always take the same percentage of your shields, so regenerating them faster benefits you more than having higher max shields. I use the N7 arms and legs but the Remnant chest piece instead of the N7, for even more regeneration. Use a Shield Oscillator on your chest, but don't bother with it on an AR. Spec Throw as both a detonator and primer. This build works medium to long range (Singularity, detonate with Throw/Lance), has an option for when you get surprised up close or are on the move (Throw, detonate with Lance), and just melts everything on Insanity!

Once you add the plasma charge augment, it reduces the clip size to 2. The mod will get you down to one. I too was having this problem. A little testing helped me figure it out. Fun build!

Not a stupid question at all. The reason is because only scattershot can give us shield back with every shot you take. So just shooting scattershot, with all the mods and augmentations I've shown will regen 25% shield per shot.

Thnx for the reply: In other words - other SG cannot achieve 1 bullet per magazine like scattershot can, even when used with same setup? Cause that's only requirement we actually need to achieve 25% per shot regen, right?

1 bullet is only part of it. The infinite ammo is the second one. Only remnant weapons have infinite ammo so you don't need to reload.

I know this is 2 years to late but other people still visit these videos today 1 can be bought at the Nexus Genral Store. Resets upon loading a different area. 1 can be bought from the Materials Merchant at Aya. Resets when fast-traveling to any other point then the markets at Aya

@@craigsouthern4793 Or the nexus merchant. You can go to the landing pad of the tempest and the vendors reset. No need to fast travel.

you want to reload asap for the quicker shield buff and to get your powers off quicker, reload speed is king. bonus? never have to worry about running out of ammo, and since you are spamming it just for the shield buff... that is actually pretty critical. you would have to add the heatsink mod to the dahn, and the "recharge" rate on that with a single clip size is terrible.

Scattereshot Shotgun has a base clip size of 12. Putting the Plasma Charge System reduces it to 2. Afterwards, you add the mods I told you and it will be reduced to 1.

not really that far. you need 21 skills to max out a given skill. you need maxed lance to spam it thanks to the shield loss t6 ability kinda need t6 annihilation to keep it going easier and you need 'a' point in charge, that's largely it, besides the 1 ammo shotgun that can refill shields as well as the shields on kill item on your equipment. pretty much everything else is gravy, really. nice, something to work up to, but the 'core concept'? that's like level 12. and really, for a powerful build to really 'work' decently at level 12 is pretty damn good.

What about shield oscillator....?

Yes. Appearently you need to research it first. Once you research it, there's a chance you will get them in random containers all around, try looting remnant areas, and check for hidden chests

Well the first thing you can do is infest in the reconnaissance cryo-pod that makes hidden crates visible on the map. They contain a lot of materials, weapons and armor. But just enjoy the game at first. Don't mind anything until you're at least lvl 15+.

Where do I get the Cryo-pod, or does that come later?

+Tomás Moura I have played the heck out of this game. It mostly came from hidden caches that you can see with the reconeissance perk.

I think it actually does. I tested it with both biotic boos aug and biotic combo boos, and with the biotic boost I was killing things faster (then again, that might be because of the fact that Lance is the main and biggest damage dealing source in this build).

You would definitely be increasing the lance damage. if you want to combos themselves to deal more damage, including the echoes, those word off the, "combo damage," stat. I guess it is to facilitate builds that use Nova or something similar as a damage source. The cool thing about reaction optimizers is they aren't specific to a power category, so switching from adept to sentinel works great because it'll still boost fire, tech and cryo combos.

@Dayle Armstrong Do you think its worth stacking combo damage instead of a mix of biotic and tech damage in a sentinel build? I use shockwave, incinerate and energy drain, all set to prime and detonate. I use the fusion mod of rapid deployment (+50% recharge speed) instead of adrinaline, because I dont like it for boss fight reasons.

I would say so just betcause you're using both biotic and tech. If power damage boosts combo damage you'd probably still prefer combo damage bonuses since they aren't tech or biotic specific. also consider a sentinel build with a shield consuming lance with energy drain and incinerate. Similar build, but unlimited detonators in the form of Lance.

If you go to the nexus, head to the general store buy the biotic power aug if its there. If not don't sweat it, just go back to the door to board the tempest. Hold triangle (Im on ps4) so that it asks you if you want to board the tempest. Then just click back, the shop is now reset. Keep doing this for as long as you need.

Random drops from npcs or vendors on the Temptest /Nexus.

Justin Welsh The best way is in hidden caches. Get the avp perk to show hidden caches and farm them. I have like 15. Just don't research any mods you don't want to use

Ah, only placed the shield oscillator, I will put on the plasma charge later. Funny how the tooltip for plasma charge didn't say anything about clip size reduction.

It does? I didn't know. I did some testing and with biotic dmg boost I was killing things faster than with biotic combo boost. The majority of damage here comes from lance (@ 620 without all the passives in biotics).

Hmm try Fusion Mod of Adrenaline. That one resets all your active cooldowns when you kill an enemy. Be careful though. It's not that great against big enemies which take a longer time to kill. Also, why not use weapons/melee? Even the mighty Krogan don't really only on their fists.

Why not use weapons/melee? In most games I play I like to create a pure mage of sorts who is above the vulgarity of physical combat. Also, insanity is already pretty easy and I like the puzzle of trying to make it work. I think I found something that works. Flamethrower performs well at confirming kills and recharge is based on how long you fired. Anything outside of flamethrower range is not an immediate threat. My other skills would be Energy Drain for a touch of sustainability and Overcharge for more instant damage and priming.

And that shotgun can't be a 1 shot any more

General merchant on the nexus (the stall all the way to the right). She usually only sells one at a time, but if you take the tram to a different section of the nexus and then travel back, her stock refreshes. Hope this helps!

WarmageRagnar the Heleus armor will also boost your power damage and looks awesome however it is a two part set meaning you will only have a single chest piece and be missing out on augment slots for your arms and legs and it overall gives only about half the damage boost N7 does.

Dangit... Guess I'll have to accept that, and just change the color scheme to hide the cosplay factor.

Unfortunately you simply lose a very good bonus if you wish to go against using N7. It's that good with this build. Otherwise, you can try pathfinder / initiative armour for the +shields, but you will still lose a huge bonus for biotic damage.

KhrazeGaming since the build uses a percentage of shields it's much better to have less shields and more health so I'd say go for Remnant armor for the damage resistance.

KhrazeGaming Yeah... Thanks for the tip. I'll settle for tinting the N7 armor black and blue for contrast with Shepard's color scheme. It's still kinda bizarre that they would choose the N7 set as the designated biotic-boosting armor. Especially when Shepard was pretty much "canonically" a Soldier. At the very least it could be the basic health-boosting armor set like it was in ME3, while the NEW armor pieces with new designs offer the more offensive and unique bonuses.

+Axel Liew its all about downtime. I needed a weapon that shoots constantly with no reload time.

Charge I already recharges 50% of the shield. With Bastion it recharges it to 100%....unless there's some other passive that does it otherwise.

The passives you unlock with skill points under the combat tree will benefit you however, when it comes to profiles only the one that you have selected will benefit you, for example if you have chosen adept, none of the benefits will apply to you except for the benefits of the adept profile which is the one you have chosen
