You're living a lot of our dreams..and I love to see it. not everyone is able to just drop their current lives and everyday tasks to get out and explore the beautiful scenery our country has to offer.. your pictures and videos take me places...it almost feels like I'm there.. keep it comin!
I randomly found his videos and I’ve just been binging since the start, I love how it’s just a man enjoying the world he is in and just sharing it with us as well. It’s amazing
I never seen a youtuber set off so fast! I saw his first shorts, and then he did several shorts without making long videos, very interesting way to start a new channel and it seems to have worked great for him!
@rile7648 it's probably a rough trail to get where he was situated.. can't just burn off too fast. you gotta drive cautiously or he could end up stuck in snow somewhere. And he doesn't know if the driver that brought those people there were possibly right down the way waiting for them..lot to consider.
It was paved parking lot to a baseball field, not a trail. Definitely should look at getting a firearm. Although it may hinder what states he can travel to.
@ovI0i17Hpl yes.. but we didn't get to see what the road that leads to that lot looks like.. even just a little ice can be dangerous when trying to really step on the gas..and as I said.. he had no knowledge of where the driver went. They could've been waiting down the road🤷🏽♂️ I know ID definitely be armed though. Lol
@ovI0i17Hpl there is Many laws of transporting a forearm across state lines , due diligence in research debunks any sketchy attempts . U can simply read up on laws and and operate accordingly, that's what law abiding firearm owners do . We research laws and follow them
That would be sage brush. The plant your smelling, I'm glad somebody else likes it other than me. Most people hate the smell haha. Also wanted to say, if you go north from gypsum up into those mountains you keep looking at it is magnificent. That's steamboat springs/Colorado River headwaters area. One of my favorite places in CO. Hopefully you make it out there sometime.
I kept expecting some bad language to come out of your mouth. Much to my surprise and delight it didn’t. Thank you for being so considerate. Very good video.
Dude, when first found your channel, I thought it was pretty cool, but not really much. Just another guy who was building a truck in his driveway. Just another. But it panned out to be so much more. I started to hear you in the shorts and thinking you sounded super genuine and nice. It was a good taste after tons of brain rotting content most everywhere else. I am so happy I stuck with it. And I still remember when you posted the final build short and kinda feeling sad after the thirty something series. But then you posted the first video of this series and it made me so excited. I know times can be tough, especially in your situation when you are alone, but I hope you know you have your entire family thinking about you 24/7, and for whatever we're worth, we love your content and also just how nice and relaxing you are. Cherish the moments you love most and forget the ones you hate. This journey you started is something I wish I could do. And Lord knows I would have definitely also picked a taco for the trip (the dang thing will never die on you lol). I'm extremely happy to see you happy, I know I have no clue who you really are and we basically have no connection whatsoever, but I think its fun. Keep on keeping on, and remember God's with you through your journey, and so is your family. Much love from all your fans! @SalvagetoScenic
That brush you were smelling in the video is called a Sage Brush. Has a lot of medicinal properties. Take a handful and boil it. Drink it like tea. Good for congestion.
Native Coloradan here! Love to see you enjoying the state, that was wild Sage you were looking at by the way! Makes great tea if you forget your baggies
Massachusetts here! You are amazing. Once in a lifetime buddy. Love how you’re just honest and true about your experiences. Keep it up and get to work editing more!!!!
This is why I always pause these clickbaitey videos right away and go to the comments. This way they don't get my view. Thank you for saving my time and frustration
When the heater isn’t working, you could use rocks to stay warm. Throw some large, flatter rocks into a fire for a while and then if you put them under a blanket with you it’ll help hold the heat. I don’t think it’ll work all night, but at least long enough for you to fall asleep comfortably
I'm 17 and dream of being able to do what you do man. Look forward to watching all your vids as soon as they drop. Hope one day I'll be lucky to do what you do. Keep it up brotha
I’m sure you’re gone by now but if you’re still around or you end up coming back in the Spring, I can take you on a police ride along. I’m an officer here and we’re always happy to take people out with us.
Love your videos bud! You are living our dreams. You are living the dream. I have a built up 4Runner just like your truck and I haven't been able to take a trip like that. But seeing you inspires me. And thank you very much for making your weekly video a little bit longer. I enjoy them and look forward to seeing more. I honestly come home from work play on Sundays and watch them after you post them. 😊
Perhaps moms should worry a bit about not holding up their propaganda against worrying, and pay their own way, without sending others to hell and begging for big money from state breaking commies
I have heard some experienced hunters hunters/campers say that if you get a hat and sew like felt eyes on the back of it a mountain lion will be less likely to jump on your back
I absolutely love your channels and look forward to each post on insta and the extended videos here are awesome. I also love and admire your respect for safety and having fun responsibly. Good on you and keep it coming ❤
If you go to one of the National Forest Service office, they can hook you up with some topo maps. You may need them if you get yourself in a situation in the back country. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us and for appreciating the smell of the sage brush. I grew up near there and spent summers in Leadville with family, so this is ol' home week for me!
At your age, I surveyed the Eagle Valley from Vail to Glenwood Canyon 1983-85. First time ever 4wheel and seeing this type of remote country. You have captured my amazement exactly. Thanks. Enjoy and be safe alone. Keep a satellite SOS device!
Love your vids! You have such a great spirit. I learn so much from you when it comes to all the things you talk about with your vehicle. I'm taking notes 📝 as I will be going on my own adventures soon 🏕⛰️🚐🤙🏾
Very beautiful views in the mountains! One thing to remember about mountain lions, they are bigger versions of domesticated cats, so if you’re riding your bike they are going to be afraid of the noise and will stay away. If your bike breaks down then yes, you’re vulnerable. Looking forward to more of your videos!
First time watching and i have so enjoyed your adventure. I worry when i see anyone park facing a cliff edge. You shoukd always park ready to leave at short notice. Stay safe and enjoy your wonderful life.
I am confused, If you saw two people all dressed in Black hoodies with bags in the middle of the night, as you put it "fixin to break into my garage" why would you not call the law?
I'm sorry to say this, but I'm so glad you had to use that battery jump starter. I have one, a NOCO brand. My Dodge went dead b/c I was too lazy to go out in the extreme cold and start it daily. I just drove the other truck. So here it is almost spring, and I need my dodge to get into dodgy places lol. Secret fishing holes and morel hunting where the trees brush your truck. The other truck is bigger but..anyway. I was too scared to use the damn thing b/c I didn't know if you could leave it on the battery once the vehicle started. I've jumped plenty of vehicles in my time, but with jumper cables. I still have those and could just use them, but I want to try the NOCO. SO I see it won't blow up on me if I don't start the truck, jump right out and remove it. I don't have a second pair of hands. I know not to leave it on there obviously. I just wanted to see someone use one single handed. That was SKETCHY with those dudes. IDK how you fell asleep knowing they were out there. I'd have been on high alert til dawn. Other humans are the most scary thing out there in the world. At least animals you can kinda read their body language, know when it's mating season and which ones to avoid altogether. With humans, the most innocent looking can be the most deviant. Argh. Why ppl? Can't we just get along and love one another? Wishful thinking. Anyway, glad you made it without incident other than the battery. BUT HEY, YOU HELPED ME OUT. lol. Thnxs
Oh my gosh.,.. I just found you tonight and absolutely love your attitude, courage and obvious love of the land. Wish I was as brave as you. Can't wait to watch more..... Keep reaching for those stars, be safe and ✌️ to ya! Dee from Pennsylvania
I routinely camp at 8800 feet in Roosevelt National Forest. I have had great luck going into the settings(passcode for most is 1688) of the diesel heater and raising the minimum fan rpm by 600rpm and setting max rpm to the highest it will let you enter.
Hi there!! Your videos have been recommended by the YT algorithm!! Congratulations on that, you’re obviously doing something right. Anyways, I’m enjoying watching how you’re reacting to these awesome views. They do look breathtaking for sure. Also, it was sage that you were smelling, beautiful Indian Sage. Hope you have a hand gun for safety, just be very careful out there. Continue on with enjoying being outdoors and camping in your truck!! Paula ❤
Great video I loved it! We go to Leadville every year! Thanks for taking the time to set up the awesome shots! Looking forward to seeing your next video.
One good story! Great to see you adventure, beautiful mountains all around, wow beauty. Make you stock up on those brownies…. Hahaha, when you get into a town. It’s wonderful seeing you travel and exploring…. Tho, be careful out there… where you stay to sleep, should carry something to protect yourself on foot, bike and in your truck… You, don’t know what you’ll encounter, please be safe…🙏🏼. Don’t care, how long your video is, it was awesome 👏🏼 You’re doing a fabulous job, Great job! Truck 🛻… Best wishes✨ Thanks, for sharing and know… There’s a lot of viewers enjoying your adventures 🫶🏼👏🏼 Take care, can’t wait, what’s next….
Dude I went to high school right where you were sleeping when those people pulled up. I’m pretty surprised that happened, that’s generally a safe area! Seeing you drive up trail gulch road is also wild, used to do so many hill reps going up that hill in high school cross country.
Just finished building my truck camper (just posted the video the other day) to get out in the backwoods and it's the prople that concern me far more than any animal.
There is amazing camping just outside Pagosa springs. Great views for star gazing, wild turkey watch and picture perfect mountain ranges. One of my favorite spots.
👵So i aquired a book on the history of an area out in the sage brush of eastern Oregon. The doctor serviced those who chose 2 settle out there and try 2 scratch out a living. What i gleaned from his story is that sage brush was highly antiseptic and even though he performed many operations out there in cow pastures, he clained that none of those operations became infected. Now i come along and m raised in sage brush - move 2 western Oregon where the mold and the mildew grows and i become chronically ill. 🧐Coincidence, NOT !!! Thankyou 4 sharing. Those big kitties r dangerous but the all-American diet will kill u. . . God Bless u 4 helping us grey haired folks live vicariously thru u whole we have the freedom 2 do so. . .💝🤗🙏
I would have bailed 5 miles into your thrill trip!!! Thank you for letting me see what I’ve missed many times. Can’t get over my fear no matter how I try. again many thanks my friend. Safe travels.
greetings from a fellow moto bro in Mass !! Love the salvage to scenic journey you are having . Thanks for taking us along with you. Keep up the great content ❤🌄❗
For half a second there at 25:24 I though you had lost the garage off the back of the truck. The painting makes it blend in so well with the background.
Such a huge supporter. Scary encounter. Please stay vigilant and safe. Thank you for sharing. Have you seen the channel “truck house life”, the dude has a cabin on the back of his truck. So awesome.
Awesome adventure this go around!! God those mountains.... I climbed a mountain in NH during summer once and its so incredibly different, lush green trees, lakes everywhere, just beauty as far as you could see... Thanks for giving us a Birdseye view of Colorado in the winter! Gorgeous just the same, but different in the best of ways! I still think mountain kitties just want hugs but best to not be their target of scratchy hugs!! And as for the people in all black, what the what???? Ive seen smoother drug deals at stores I used to work at 😂 jerks! Stay safe and you are the definition of making the most of it! It must be so serene.... Enjoy friend! Take a few moments of serenity in nature for us!!! ❤
Tracks that look like a dog footprint but without nail marks are usually cats. The really big ones are mountain lions. I couldn’t see the plant up close enough to be certain, but I’m fairly sure it’s sage
That was a problem, in a good way, for me when I lived/worked in Colorado.... THE VIEWS! I would go do field work the quickest route. On the return trip I took a different jeep trail every time. I actually said out loud, to my hound dog, "I love my job!"
Hey bro next time you’re climbing and having traction problems, hold your traction button down. After 3 seconds it will engage your limited slip and after 6 seconds it will disengage the sway control. This will help you immensely!enjoy!
I love sagebrush! When I’m in an area that has it I like to keep some in the cab of my vehicle. Oh-and love your videos! Keep exploring, learning, adventuring, and loving life!
I would consider installing a speaker system to scare the sh*t out of people with 😂 "STEP AWAY FROM THE TRUCK" Also keeping your exterior lights on with the motion sensors on
He won't do that. It's HE who has the sh*t scared out of himself with just the thought of having to deal with the situation. He'd rather hunker down like a scared kitten and let them do whatever they want with his property. Cowardly personality.
I love your content dude, I’m sure this has been addressed but I own a taco too and it might be too late but I would think about strengthening your frame. The C channel on tacomas are very flexy, especially where the bed starts. It looks like over the trip the frame has flexed more. Especially after some more challenging trails. Might be wrong tho and it came like that from the junkyard. Airbags won’t do much to keep the frame from flexing, it will just keep your ride height relative to the axel. Many desert suspension companies offer different ways to strengthen. Or have someone just box it. Keep it up homie! Colorado trails are rough especially in the winter. Well done!
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. The stunning views from the drone are amazing. Ran across your channel by accident and I think I’m all caught up with your travels Love your videos big shout out from New York. Jake. 😊
That lovely smelling brush you asked about is Artemisia Tridentata or Big Sagebrush. 💚🌿 Yeah I'm a plant nerd! 🤓😂 If you ever make it to the Durango or Four Corners Area I'd love to show you some incredible places to camp and ride! Best time is the late spring early fall! Happy camping! Stay blessed!
I love this video! It was scary. It was fingernail biting scary. Going up that mountain and I was looking 👀out for mountain lions for you. Okay, have a good trip down and I enjoyed your video ❤️❤️
Colorado, brownies, high elevation, sleeping in. Ya, we know whats ein them Brownies! 🎉😂😂 Im bing watching your videos. I abso love your channel and adventures. I plan to do all this in a few years as well. So cool. I dig the taco. But you seriously need to fix the ever growing gap between bed and cab. Stay safe, have fun. Thanks for allowing all of us to live vicariously
Just love your video. I am a novice camper. I am starting out small. Small tent, getting use to sleeping in it. It amazes me how many women and men do solo camping. I would be so afraid. I would have to bring along a couple of good friends, Smith and Wesson. Right now I just keep pepper spray and a police taser for protection. Once I discharge the taser it becomes a stun gun. Anyways beautiful country out there. So much to see and do. Thanks for sharing your adventures to all. Be safe.
You are awsome dude , living the dream of most men in earth, camping along intop of such beautiful montain , drive a durt bike most of all be free from society. Keep up and mostly ENJOOOOOY. Love the long video couldn't stop watching untill its over. Love from Morocco
