Hope Derek sees this comment: I am 25 years old and owe Derek a huge thank you! Derek and his videos encouraged me to get checked by a specialist for some issues that have been causing me a lot of problems. My cardiologist called me this week and it turns out I do have heart disease stemming from a congenital defect. Been feeling like shit for years and saw a few doctors and heard nothing but "you're too young, it's likely stress and anxiety". Never assume your health parameters are on point just because you're "too young". Now that I have been diagnosed I can take steps to be as safe as possible and hopefully increase my overall lifespan and quality of life. I have been natural my whole life, but situations like this change things down the road even for potential TRT use. I would really have to consider the potential detrimental consequences on my heart. Thanks for always advocating for health and getting checked out, regardless of an individuals age. I wouldn't have pushed for a specialist as much if I wasn't so familiar with Derek's content over the years. I took my issues seriously unlike many doctors. Thanks man, you may have literally saved my life!

It's super informative, and kinda demystifies what kind of diet (..and workout detail..) someone who looks so anatomical would really go through. When i went to Army basic training as a 19 years old i lost 40lb in 8 weeks... So for all these years until around 38, i always thought "cutting" was 2 months. I didn't even know it takes longer to get really lean. If you are not lean it can take alot longer, so i started one of my cuts at 38 years old and just "kept going" with the process. The process was a workout and cardio load daily and a diet which had a limit on carbs ( for me it was under 100 grams ). It worked to strip 2-3 lbs of fat every week. So i kept going for 5 and half months and was able to peel it down until i had veins in my abs, you could see the glutes, cross striations in the triceps, the teardrop on the thighs, etc, skin wiht no fat in it even in the abdomen area, obliques with cross striations, the muscles on the ribs too. So figure out what your routine is and plan a long time range, say plan 6 months and keep going! When you reach your body fat level ( athletes hold 6-8% yearly ), you would manage your diet and excersize to stay at that bodyfat level for at least a year. You will find the metabolism changes and the bodies new "norm" is that lower body fat level. @@rosep8481

He would be out in his yard at 3 am screaming from his workouts he would do well over 1000 pushups a day per sitting and ran miles every evening around the neighborhood. The night I am recalling we ended up having to fight with this man and I remember standing there watching him talk and I'll never forget that right before he came at us I saw his muscles from is abs up just rippled when he flexed. He was extreme and 5 of us could not subdue the guy. Fortunately the pepper spray worked great although we all got sprayed together fighting the guy 🤣

Wow! Excellent breakdown! I use Cronometer thanks to Derik’s suggestion. It’s great. But it takes a lot of work to get all those micro and macros to be in the green and not have some mineral over the recommended limits. I measure everything to the gram and have to supplement a few things.. All to hit green, and a 100 percent. I’m 58 years old 6’ 2” and 161 dehydrated in the morning. 9.8 percent on bio impedance and Lange skin caliper 3 sight measurements. 22% protein, 51% carb, 27 l% fat. Right at 2000 calories a day. Usually 12-15 under that number.. 5 grams of creatine and body weight and dumbbell workouts. Not very heavy but long carry times. Day 1 Back (pull-ups, single side.rows, and alternating at top dumbbell curls). For bi’s. Day 2 Legs, leg extensions, Sissy squats, leg curls and calf raises. 3rd day Shoulder, chest (dips and crossovers) tris, pushdowns and kickbacks.. Then repeat.. Usually no rest days. Only 6 sets total usually per workout. A couple of sets per most exercise. I’m older so I don’t want any more joint problems. And workout at home. No TRT so far. But Cronometer has made 20 pounds come off. From just under 15% body fat to 9.8. Mainly because of Cronometer. And walking a few days a week for cardio. I thank you Derik for your Cronometer suggestion. And great content. I am very happy for your success from all your hard work and late night video productions. You are obviously appreciated.. 👍

Yeah, it's absolutely not healthy, and unless you are competing not even worth going to honestly as you can look REALLY good at a healthy bodyfat sitting around 8-10% depending on genetics (I sat around 9-10 naturally most of my life no matter what I was eating and felt good here, only after two years of bad eating and no training during covid have I gone above that to about 13-14%) which isn't that harsh to maintain dietary wise and doesn't require significant dehydration or carb cutting. Cutting below 5% interferes with brain, kidney, liver, and heart (the first and last being why you wouldn't be able to sleep) function, it's absolutely not healthy for you at all, and the body will start to struggle struggle with anything under 7-8% for most people. If it's fucking with your sleep it's definitely something unhealthy.
@dennisrobinson8008
@dennisrobinson8008 9 месяцев назад
Sleep was likely poor due to having stress ( cortisol ) in the system due to working out so much. You can do your workouts earlier in the day so that the stress has time to leave and plan things to take stress out of you. Sitting in a cool swimming pool will pull stress out of you, there are also tabs to reduce cortisol.

Oh bike to gym even on leg days. been going at this pace for 15 years now. Only injuries for the most part is when I crash my mountain bike. going to carry this pace as long as I can. still trying to improve on my last workout. look at my pic. can send pictures, It does help to be a type A personality, the human body is amazing. knowledge and the drive to always learn will take me to the end of my life with a smile that I have given my best. I competed in a couple of FAME UK fitness shows in 2009, 2010 and 2011 (also years when Ryan Baptiste and Sean Stafford started their rise), which he entered and always won year on year, great guy and sense of humour, looks like a walking human anatomy wall chart in real life show time and also just training in the gym, it's crazy. He literally lives and breaths the lifestyle. We also used to bump into each other in the gym in London and have some chats and one time I remember asking him about his regime to which he said (in Austrian accent, he sounds like Arnie).... "I live alone, I train alone, I take the trophy home alone!" he started competing at WBFF when that became popular but I don't think he won any shows, probably due to age and marketability but legend for sure.

I am 63 and his work out routine is similar to mine, heaps of reps and sets. And yes it takes a long time. I dont normally train to failure but leave a couple of reps in the tank, I find its healthier for me at my age. I counted mine up just for kicks and giggles and mine is 120 a week. Honestly I never thought about "per week" before, I just do what I feel and like.

From my estimation I'm roughly around 15% BF, and my body is already fighting back against me. My genetics don't want me to even be this lean. The only reason I'm able to push forward is from will power and low calorie dense foods that keep me full. It's so hard to comprehend how anyone can even function at those BF% levels.

Pretty funny to see a Seed promotion on here by you. I’ve been on it for about 2 weeks and so far my digestion is improved and, oddly, my appetite has shifted toward different kinds of foods so as a result my diet has improved as well. I don’t think it’s just a coincidence. I had read long ago that gut bacteria can make you prefer certain kinds of foods. Now im on this high-end super science Seed cocktail and instead of Taco Bell and Burger King that I crave, it’s olive and vinegar salad with beats and kidney beans and olives and tomatoes. It’s lean steak. It’s eggs and chicken.

Looks like he has it dialed in. Thanks for going through his macros and micros. Useful stuff. Must have a stoked metabolism and just sleep all the time. Maybe using a decoupler or adrenergic agonist to get that shreaded. Mass wise, surely he must be optimising his hormones? No way to maintain that mass if cutting that hard at his age(?). Good genetics anyway. A bit of GH would go down well at that age too no doubt.
