@@nadinew.2616I live in Canada, where we've been on metric like the rest of the world for many decades, but I don't know either. It's roughly half a mile. But when you go almost up until 20 years old with 1 system, you always think in that way.
@@migrabar79people, stop with the grammar corrections! With the world saying, "me and so and so", are doing whatever, this was NOTHING! I have trouble speaking 1 language!!!!
Some folks might not know that some fox hunters, steeplechasers and show jumpers are former race horses. Some were too old to race anymore or too slow to race. That horse was a dragon! How exciting!
Theyre a good match. I had a show jumper who was 1st a champion racehorse. His speed didnt cause him to flatten out over jumps as you'd expect. As long as jumps were high, he would check himself a split second before taking off over the jump, yet he had no respect for smaller jumps. Once he had his head, he was impossible to pull back. If I pointed him in the right direction & sat quietly he'd get over the large jumps smoothly himself & fast; but if I fought to slow him down or even tried half-halting he'd get furious & distracted & start knocking poles down. The usual rules for riding a large show jumping course didnt seem to apply to him. Unleashed & flying describes it.
And the horse wanted to go FASTER, it was fighting her holding it back and guiding it to make sure it had an appropriate take off. This is a hidden pegasus fighting to be set loose to FLY!
@EllesGhost13 no, she was having to slow him down a bit. He was protesting, yes, he was wanting to go for broke but that's dangerous to horse and rider. She kept him collected so that he could maintain proper form - no different than any elite athlete.
@@EllesGhost13 Everything about this is uncomfortable for the horse. Nothing was designed to be comfortable for the horse, only the rider. It's abuse at it's finest.
They do love it despite what haters tell you who say horses are tortured been ridden just like dogs love training and tricks and working horses love a job and to be mentally stimulated and true bred horses bred for show jumping love jumping my mare goes crazy in tailor at horse show and is off a soon as in ring she lives for it she gets excited seeing her saddle and bribe at home too knowing were going for ride
@@Shaz-gq7pv lol yes in all my years of riding most of the jumpers I’ve seen really loved their jobs. I am a hunter/eq rider myself but may be will give jumpers a try one day
I'm over here crying like I do on the final stretch of the Kentucky Derby! Beautiful performance. I LOVE watching a horse give their all doing the job they love! ❤
Poetry in motion! As a former dressage competitor (very low level, local events) I can SO appreciate the YEARS of training and bonding between horse and rider exhibited here!!!!
Sanne Thijsen on Con Quidam RB, a Holsteiner. Holsteiners and Westfalians are the best jumping horses ever, they are large with long legs and incredibly powerful.
This is so exciting, the announcer makes us go crazy! He is really making me wanting having to know who this horse & rider are? What a fabulous, fantastic, unbelievable & unforgettable performance. This is a MASTER PIECE!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤
@@Natalie_C94 thank you for the info! My guess was Holsteiner. I used to breed Hanoverians; as I started using stallions with Holsteiner lines I had to increase my fence heights to 6.5 ft (almost 2 meters). From foalhood on up, all those Holsteiner crosses would jump out of paddocks and pastures apparently just for the fun of it! I had other big jumping lines but no others that appeared to want to jump the fence AWAY from their buddies (or dams) just because they could.
That horse is all go and no whoa. I love it. It’s not easy going that fast and clearing jumps. Holding the horse back to slow down so he’s not barreling through them. What a beautiful horse. They make a great team. I miss competing.
Fantastic, one of the best rides I ve ever seen. And a great horse, I got chills watching the horse's second effort over the 2nd fence of the combination. He looks like a Thoroughbred. This is truly poetry in motion. Congratulations...
Lord, how I love my horses when I see a horse is so highly trained and so excited with a rider that equally excited and they breeze through it like it’s nothing it makes me feel so good in my heart thank you for showing us. It was appreciated. God bless both of them and I’m glad they did an excellent job. ❤️❣️❤️
Absolutely beautiful ride. The horse is so happy with his performance he doesn’t want to stop. Look at how playful he skips, onward to the next level. This was a great ride
@@Methilde I do not know for sure but usually a stallion or gelding are used in jump. It’s just a common term used for an unknown male or female of a species. Just like cats and boats are referred to as female. Not a big deal
@@lisazappala4381 plenty of mares are ridden in these competitions, as well, though? I get the second part of your comment but it doesn't appear to me that it's 'usually' just male horses used in contests.
This is my third time listening to this, and I can only comment now because it's daytime and I'm not tired. I'd love to see this continue! I'm enjoying the plot. Great job!
They were MOVING, wow. Fantastic horse, magnificent rider and I love the passion of the announcer, " she's unleashed a fire breathing dragon". Love the contagious enthusiasm!
First time I see a horse pushing and the rider pulling.. This is a horse who dreams to fly! She is like take it easy, and he is like its my moment.. don't ruin it
@@cattymajiv Insult who, where? What are you on exactly? I’m asking if it is sarcasm because show jumping is almost all the time horse pushing + rider pulling. No but seriously are you okay? Is your therapist okay?
@@PhoenIXPhantasies So let me get this straight. You think a 1000-pound creature with a mouth big enough to bite your face off and 4 big, sharp rocks for feet, rimmed with iron shoes ..... has no choice but to take "abuse"?
@@audreymuzingo933 Look at the amount of slaves one person kept. With enough brainwashing and force you can control anything. Look at the elephants being abused and kept in uncivilized countries. I bet you could think of some examples if you weren't so bias.
@@PhoenIXPhantasiesbro it's sad to see you commenting on like every comment, unless you own a horse, not assuming you don't, how do you know for sure. go find a peta page to play in because you're honestly in my opinion, annoying.
What a round . Well ridden !! That horse had full strength and she riding in hardly any gadgets !!!! What a beautiful horse so keen but safe and.well schooled 👏👏👏
Amazing horse and amazing rider!! That horse was roaring to go!!! It was awesome to she her pulling him back at just the right time!! It was like they were together as one!!! Such a gorgeous ride to watch.
it is amazing that she won, and the horse looks excited, but i find her a bit harsh with her hands and body to be honest... and i know that these horses are alot to handle and very excited. but it is a bit harsh for me...
Oh, I'm sure almost every top rider there has ever been was born super rich. Normal people can't even afford the lessons and clothes, never mind just 1 actual horse of any kind. Only rich people can jump competitivly. Other people need to work.
@@cattymajiv I mean, that's not true. Plenty of top riders don't/ didn't have their own horses. They get sponsors who provide the horse for them and get paid to train and show the horses. Many here (in germany) have started by working at stables in exchange for lessons. You have an easier start if you have a wealthy background (as in life in general), but you don't have to be super rich by any means to start riding horses. It depends on where in the world you are, though; I'll acknowledge that.
