I stopped drinking alcohol around the same time I started smoking weed again ( after not smoking weed for 20 years.) It's legal in C.A. I dropped close to 40 lbs. and plan my munchie meals with protein shakes and low sugar bran cereals. I don't wake up sore or hungover. I hit the gym the next day after partaking. Sometimes, you just need a break to chill and relax. Alcohol messed me up the next day so bad that all I wanted to do was sleep in and not hit the gym at all and eat crappy food to recover from the hangover. Best of luck to Mr. Singleton, and this is coming from a Dodgers fan that still holds a grudge against the ass-tros! 😅😂😅

This is a good story. However, I have to say that I think this really shows both Singleton’s strength as a human and the insidious side of society. Two things are abundantly clear to me: 1. This dude can play baseball and 2. He probably benefits from having a little weed in his system. Given how the MLB treats THC today, Singleton is exactly the guy that should’ve been able to have both a successful career and access to a fairly mild stress relief drug that is also most certainly not a PED. I’m not saying he doesn’t have an addiction, clearly he struggled to the point of facing serious consequences, but what was the benefit of punishing people like this?
@laarrsiavelli
@laarrsiavelli 11 месяцев назад
There's no better way to say it really, I would say that even him "admitting" he's "addicted" to marijuana is even indicative of the time and the society then, given how the MLB treats THC today.

This wouldn't have even happened to today since there's an exception for marijuana in testing for members of MLBPA. Minor leaguers are now all part of the union. A lot of places define "marijuana addiction" as using any at at all, no matter how infrequent the use and don't recognize any medical benefits. Which is ridiculous! This is only a story because of the ridiculousness of our drug laws and marijuana prohibition. That's the real story that should come out of this. Marijuana is now legal both recreational and medical in 75% of the leagues home games. The MLB, NBA, NFL players unions all have exceptions for at least medical marijuana or just outright.

There is no real withdraw from THC (the component in Marijuana that produces the euphoric body high). Withdraw applies to medications, alcohol, nicotine, really anything that is addictive (which marijuana is not, it has addictive qualities rather). Marijuana is not as bad as the people up top want us to think. These leagues should be advocating for using treatments with THC and CBD, and players should advocate for testing of marijuana within the MLB to cease (like the NFL as of now). The medical benefits of those two compounds could change the game and benefit the player individually.

I don't trust f*cking StatCast, man. I went to the Astros website and watched both of his home runs, both of which were absolute swamp donkey moonshots that landed no less than halfway up in the second deck in right field. And while they may have been right down the line and each had rather high trajectories, they both looked a hell of a lot farther than the 390 ft and 389ft they projected them as going. I mean, they were both at least 50 feet beyond the wall where they landed, and where they landed was halfway up the second deck which is probably a good 60-70 ft above the playing surface. And with the outfield wall being more than 326 ft where he hit the homers (as it's 326 ft to the right field foul pole, but both homers were several feet left of the foul pole so it was probably no less than 330 ft to the wall where he hit it). but either way, if you simply add 50 ft onto the 330ft, that's 380 ft to where it landed a good 60-70 ft high in the upper deck. And I'd have to imagine that both home runs would have continued to travel more than just another 10 measly feet from the places each ball landed at least 60+ feet above ground level to where they'd have eventually landed if there hadn't been the upper deck and/or other obstructions. Despite having rather high trajectories, I'd say they both would have traveled at least another 30 ft horizontally as they continued to plummet from the at least 60+ ft remaining vertical drop. So I'd say no less than 410. I mean, I can't imagine either of those balls staying in the park regardless of where he hit them--be it center or deep left-center where it's over 400 ft. No big deal, I guess, but I just notice the Statcasts seem to under "estimate" the distance of these mammoth home runs on a regular basis. And I don't think I'm wrong, as I'm pretty sure they're literally projecting where the home run would land based on the mathematics of how fast the pitch was, how fast the swing was, how fast the ball came off the bat, and the angle at which the ball came off the bat. That doesn't account for so many other variables that effect the distance a ball flies off the bat, including the temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, elevation of the stadium, and several other things that we can't even account for, like some places the ball just flies better (or worse) than others regardless of the other variables like wind speed and temperature and elevation. I think some of it could have to do with magnetic and gravitational properties at given ballparks and other factors of space-time that we don't understand. For if you've ever actually played baseball or golf for yourself, you'll know that certain fields were always great for hitting while others sucked despite being in the same city, or on a golf course, there are always holes that play way farther or way shorter than their measured distance and not just because they're uphill or downhill or whatever.

I know the story all too well. I’m a recovering addict and you’ll trade any substance and abuse all of them not intending to
