I was once at baseball camp in SF and Puig was shooting a commercial near by while the Dodgers where in town. In the middle of the day he came over and hopped into a game in the older group and began playing third base. It was so cool to see a MLB player do that and it made all of our days, especially the kids whose game he joined. I hope he gets another chance in the MLB because there really is no one like him.

I just saw him play in Korea. No doubt he is an amazing player still, and it seems to me he is becoming more wholesome I want to say. He is listening to his coaches, flipping balls up to kids no matter if its home or away, and in the 4 games i saw him, there was not one time where he beefed with anyone. He was probably scared to hit him on the first pitch of the AB so he stalled for 3 pitches. Also, what are you talking about "very common"? The beanball? am inside pitch? This seems like a pretty clear example of how we as a society should value "innocent until proven guilty". He was accused of something terrible. Really terrible. However he hasn't been found guilty, we haven't let both sides argue the case equally. All we have is one side making an accusation which could be a lie, is often a misunderstanding, and we have ruined the man's life over it without any real evidence. It shouldn't be on him to bring a lawsuit to prove his innocence. Guilty until proven innocent doesn't work, otherwise anyone can be found guilty of anything.

Very true , in some ways. However , I don't think this applies to Puig. When a man lives a certain way and cultivates a certain reputation , he has to accept that while unfair if false, he has left himself open to an attack on his character. Public opinion has and will always work faster than the legal system , and that has both good and bad merits.

I love puig I’ve been a huge fan of his since his rookie season and I remember in the playoffs when he was up the entire dodger stadium would chant PUIG PUIG PUIG and immediately he would hit a home run and the stadium would rumble. He creates such a great atmosphere for the fans and I truly wish to see him play again.

Damn, just from hearing the intro dialog alone, my respect for Puig has monumentally increased. The fact that all of this happened/is happening to him yet he still continues to play some really good baseball really shows how resilient he is as a person to block out all of the negativity.

If you watched puig come into the league and take it by storm and you happen to be of Hispanic or Latin heritage you know the impact he had will never be forgotten. Dudes were haters that someone who went against the grain and played by his own rules got so much attention. He was a unit with ease and was also a great person with a big heart and lots of issues you tell me how many people would have made it through all that to come out the other side as successful as he did. I’m sure it’s all been a very humbling experience for him but there’s a reason he’ll be the only Dodger player ever whose jersey I own and supported.
@williamfloyd57

To me he is a legendary of the Dodgers, I remember sitting right field side he hit a go ahead home run against the Rockies and every time he went to his position you chant his name he'll wave to crowd, it must have been a special time to be in America for him coming from Cuba.

I remember his first month like it was yesterday. Los Angeles was having fun again. When he hit his first grand slam and Mr Scully said that epic quote. It was very magical. If only Dodgers would've kept Greinke, let Kershaw walk and traded away Gonzales and a few more tweaks. We could've had a few championships during mid 2010's. Fortunately for Dodgers, they won last season and will repeat as champs!!

Puig reminds me of a kid (maybe me back in my youth) who spends his days playing every single chance he can on a vacant lot somewhere with cut out pieces of cardboard or carpet remnants for bases. There are always going to be haters but I find his youthful exuberance for the game to be refreshing. I remember when I "got to play" baseball everyday...pretty sure I did a cartwheel rounding the bases once. I seem to recall the exalted Ozzie Smith cartwheeling off the field after turning amazing double or triple plays. No one complained about him.

When I was a kid growing up, I had a group of about 10 friends, and I was one of the youngest. We would play baseball all day every day all summer long. Since it was five on five, we had some modified rules and a modified field, but that field taught me to hit line drives up the middle and to the gaps. (Basically, instead of a 90 degree angle at the plate, it was about a 45 degree angle.) One of the older guys we played with was drafted by the Blue Jays and played with their minor league system for awhile before going back to college, winning the Heisman, and playing in the NFL. I feel bad that kids don't do that anymore.

Without a doubt the most raw talent I’ve ever seen from a baseball player. I loved Puig even when Dodger fans booed him, I loved Puig even when his teammates hated him, and I still love Puig. Could he have worked harder? Absolutely. Could he have been a better teammate? Definitely. But this man is the perfect example of misunderstood;despite having enormous problems behind the scenes, he still managed to be one of the best ball players the Dodgers had in the past decade. I remember seeing him hitting a home run in the World Series…ONE HANDED. I remember seeing him hit an inside the park home run… TO WALK OFF AND WIN. Who knows what he could have been, but what he was was still absolutely astounding and exciting to watch.
