I love u guys ✨ Monthly tutorials on my Patreon: / samdoesarts ⭐️ my instagram: / samdoesarts 💫 Gumroad shop: gumroad.com/sa... 🤩 my Prints: www.inprnt.com...
Considering that there are so many artists giving out art advice, lessons and tutorials, it explains why the younger people are able to draw professional level, and I love the progress we make Edit: woah 1K likes, you guys are nuts
Okay but THIS I remember when I was little there wasn't that much art advice? Like I remember the internet didn't have that much in the art community and it was just starting to grow but in so thankful for today since art is growing even more B)
I think what I envy the most about those 15 year olds is not them being so good at drawing already, but that they seem to already have found their dream in life at such a young age. I wish I had known what I want to do at that age ._.
As a 15 yo who likes to draw and draws pretty good (at least I think I do) let me assure you that even though I like to do this I still have no idea what I want to do in life. Like do I wanna try to make carrier out of it? Do I really want to spend my life like that? Is it possible to make enough money out of it? How? Do I want to go to art collage? Shouldnt I persue more "safe" carrier? Shouldnt I focus on my other interests more? Where do I even want to get with my art? Its confusing as hell.
maybe they got someone who good at art helping them to get inspired like their brother or father etc... i only started to get into art at the age of 19 lol
notice that some of them just post and add simple captions and (maybe) dont interact much on their followers prolly its bcs they dont really care on being popular or making it as their full time job, they are prolly most likely only doing it for fun and all so- oh and anyway its never to late to find what you love, your dream.
A tip I found useful when looking at amazing younger artists: Don't feel like you're behind, It's easy to say "Don't compare to them" but the overuse of social media tends to make this harder and harder for us artists. If you find an artist that's really amazing at such a young age is because they probably put a lot of hours into that, and they might be thinking the same as you about some other artist. If you feel really insecure just looking at their art I recommend to give it a break for a while, develop your skills little by little (maybe do a redraw of your old art, so you can compare with yourself instead of others) and then come back to their profile from time to time. You'll notice it isn't as scary and discouraging as before, repeat the process until you feel good enough with yourself and ready to learn some stuff from them.
also! perfect practicing is so helpful for me, im pretty sure ethan becker has made a video specifically for that so do check that out! (if he hasnt, you can just scroll thru his videos)
also, if u feel like you're behind and you're just starting out at 18, 19, 20 ,40 , whenever, remember that these young artists don't have (usually) to pay rent, have money for food and survival, so if you have 30 minites a day they might have 3 hours. but as long as you are consistent, progress is still progress, even if it's slower. please remember that.
@@hiyori2125 All artists used references or tutorials from an already drawn piece, aka kind of copying but not copying LMAO. Everyone did it, if you didn't, you aren't an artist hehe
@@aflower6955 lol. i see your point there! except i wouldn’t consider it copying, I’d consider it inspiration. though in some cases, yes… the artist is definitely copying the piece. but not always. i physically can’t copy anything to how it was, i end up turning what i was trying to use as a reference into something that is original overall.
When I see these young artists I always think of the saying “Never compare yourself to other artists.” 😭 But fr these guys’s art are AMAZING and I’m glad they’re getting their recognition for it :D
For everyone who’s stressing about these artists being so young: not all of us have (or had) the same kind of access to resources, support or time! Comparing yourself is of no use and will not help you become a better artist. I’m 37 and still struggle with basics like drawing hands, so I get it! But I just remind myself that I have my lifetime to get better…Assuming I get old, that’s still sooooo many years! And with deliberate practise you can get pretty far pretty fast! Don’t give up or be discouraged! You’ll get there! Just don’t let these kinds of negative thoughts influence your mindset, you’re not competing with anyone. Love that you’re highlighting some smaller artist accounts, Sam! Keep up the great work!
I just have to stop and remind myself that the 15 year old has been drawing (with unlimited access to tutorials and advice thanks to the Internet) since they can probably remember! I only started in 2016 as a late twenties adult. Of course they’re going to be way better! Then I flip through some old sketchbooks to see how far I’ve come until I’m hyped up again
@@lua2618 That's not true. I've seen some people really get into art pretty late in their lives but still greatly improve. Just practice wisely and do it for yourself. Be a fan of yourself. You might not be as good as some others (yet) but also think of how many people you're better than. Everyone has their own styles even if they dont realize it
Ive turned 14 years old recently and what really got me into drawing was the motivation and joy I saw in my classmates, pretty much when I was in 1-3rd grade is what I remember being really happy that I made people happy by helping them by being able to provide joy for them, so I continued drawing to help people be happy more and what I would do is use the notebooks they provided us for school and use the ones that I didn’t use for school to draw on, which actually helped me improve I think because the lines that run across the page make it kinda help with the measuring and I’d just draw with what I could, a pencil👍 but I started watching videos when I was 12 and that’s helped me a lot tooo
3:18 Exactly, bro, but the saddest thing about being an artist here in the Philippines is that, unless you're famous, you will struggle to get some support from your own people, even from your fellow artists. And that really sucks.
Arts in general (theater arts, liberal arts, or any form of arts) is immensely looked down upon in our country. I know of a lot of filo folks who are crazy talented but you can either get to where you want to if A.) You're rich. B.) Yo have connections that are rich. C.) You're a crazy determined person
If you have an I.G, I'll follow you! I struggle to find Filipino connections in IG, mostly the supportive ones are those that are not Filipino sadly ;(
@45. Times maybe so, but many artists do believe that it is a skill themselves! 😄 its something that you acquire after putting in a lot of hard work; drawing takes a lot of practice, and some may learn quicker than others, but thats all it there is to it 😊 /nm /pos
@@frankenstein1624 yep but I'm talking about in general !! I've also seen many awesome singers and dancers from the Philippines, I'm not saying I'm necessarily bad at any of those but so many Filipino's I've met irl have some kind of skill that they're good at... That's what I meant to say haha 😂😂
"I wasn't even 14 when I was 14" This line is weirdly relatable I was, figuring out difference between push and pull, playing hide and seek, studying math, learning tables like a good asian kid to score okay marks, drawing stick figures of Naruto and Dragon Ball Z and watching power rangers and playing power rangers with my brothers too Kids are seriously scary nowadays
Seeing all the different kinds of art on social media is inspiring because it shows the payoff for dedication/practice and all the things you can create, but it also gives me a bit of a woeful feeling. I'm 30 and i started drawing and writing about a year ago and all the dedication/skill/talent just makes me think of all the time Ive wasted not learning it before this. But I suppose that's just kinda how life is sometimes, nothing really for me to do but stick to it and try my best to improve.
same...I am almost 33 and I have wanted to learn how to draw my whole life, but more seriously in the past few years...I really suck...I can't do most things even when I watch a tutorial, unless I am copying absolutely the same thing. It's so hard to stay motivated when you don't really create anything decent, work full-time (nothing art related), live with your significant other (so you need and want to spend time with them) and don't even have the whole weekend for drawing. I just feel exhausted and frustrated all the time. I love drawing, but at this point, when I have so much to learn, it just feels like one more task in my daily life.
@@xvslnx well nobody starts perfectly ofc you need to draw to get the kind of art type you want to do, you will think that it's pointless but as long as you enjoy drawing there shouldn't be any problem, once you make a few drawings it feels good looking back at the old ones and seeing how much you improved, so don't feel pressured about your art, like they all say, the best way to improve your art is just by drawing and not giving up
i just unfollowed a bunch of artists [ cut down the number from nearly five hundred to less than two hundred] because you might think looking at others art will be inspiring; but do it for too long and you lose motivation to draw yourself. as mind keeps thinking, 'since all these amazing artists already exists what's the point of me making mediocre art'. i cannot recommend steven zapata's channel enough to fight those kinda inner demons.
@@lightlawliet3526 I have another problem with following too many artists - when I see each of there styles I am always like “oh, I like this style, I want to draw in this style” and as they are all different, I end up liking 20+ different styles and then I start getting confused from where to start and feel obliged to “choose a style”, although I know this does not work like that. But my main struggles are…do I want to draw from references like Sam, or children book illustrations, or little shop fronts, or just draw tiny magical worlds in photos I take…etc.
You know, it's interesting. I'm 16, I've been drawing since I was 11, and I ain't really talented but I work on my art a lot anyways, and I feel like me and all the other teenagers younger than me are only able to improve the way we do at our ages through people like Sam. He's become this inspiration to many people, and it's so easy to get into something like drawing at a young age when you have artists like Sam constantly posting helpful art videos and such, and it's also great, because it's at this age that we get to know what we enjoy and discover ourselves, and not that many people realize how fun art can be, I'm glad we have Sam to help me and others invest in something we might have not invested outselves in if he wasn't there.
Also, gotta always give Sam that full watch time on the video for the little comments he does at the end, I also have a shirt with the blood of my enemies!
I'm 16 too, but is drawing really for me? I lose motivation too fast... I started drawing because a friend of mine did it, but I don't know if I currently enjoy it or not
This suddenly reminded me of one of my classmates back in elementary school. She was around 12 years old when we met and could draw crazily realistic wolves, their fur, eyes, and proportions looked amazing. It made me want to draw too, so she helped me with it a bit. I remember her saying something about focusing only on wolves so she didn't know how to draw anything else lol I'm close to 21 now and I really want to go back to drawing. My motivation to do it was lost for a long time and a simple wolf seems like a pretty good starting point.
I haven't drawn all summer, and the thought of being bad (since I've lost practice) just makes me not want to draw even more. Why do I make the worst decisions- Edit: thank y’all for the motivation, I’m gonna try to draw this week if I have time TvT
It should be quicker to relearn things and regain muscle memory, i stopped drawing completely for about a year and a half due to some health issues but i started again about a year ago and got back into it pretty quickly If you’re passionate about it don’t let the time gap stop you!
Yoo he actually showed my works! Damn, thank you so much Sam ! I was just drawing and a lot of people followed me like in one moment, I thought they were bots or smth, but one of them said that I was in Sam's video. Thanks to everyone who followed me, and thank you Sam!
1:49 IS THAT LEE KNOW? I saw the NoEasy face tattoo and I (Stay) was born. I’m also an artist and a kpop stan, I love your content so much Sam! they really inspire me 💗
This is beyond talent and I just want to say that you're my inspiration in continuing my passion in art and I hope that my channel would be successful like yours
Makes me think that what if I didn't stop drawing for years🤧❤️. Literally love that kids are able to find their passion and enhance their skills at such young age!! Glad that there are lots of drawing tools/tutorials tooo! that are easily available to help artists nowadays ❤️.
when he said why are kids so scary these days at 5:30 I immediately thought of the song teenagers specifically the line "teenagers scare the living sh*t out of me"
As an artist who isn't young anymore, seeing the quality and the sheer amount of passion these young artists put into their work. It just makes me smile because they're creating A LOT and no matter how much the world burns, it makes my heart happy that we will never run out of art. :') Doesn't matter how old you are, if you're just starting, in the middle or hella skilled, sharing your masterpieces or a window into your journey as an artist is just so wonderful to me. ;;
I'm envious of these kids but at the same time, I'm not. Just imagine the time and effort they spent just to get to that point. Mad respect! No matter your age is, it's just a number. Let's continue pursuing our passion ٩̋(•͈ω•͈)و
was already having a bad day but now i feel worse lmaoo. im 24, with barely 300 followers and now i feel defeated by a bunch of children. love this for me, truly.
Hey Sam I've been watching you for the past few weeks now and after like a year of not drawing, you've become the inspiration and the push that i needed....tbh you've actually given me a reason to carry on with my art life...just wanted to thank you man..👍🙏 i really hope the best that i possible can for you....🤝
im 14 and ive been doing still life, i have mates who are like :OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO holy shit dude thats awesome, while im lookin at these 13 year old potatos being the new wlop
This is awesome! In my opinion, this is what an art community is really about. I hear people ask all the time "what's the best social media for art?" but a platform cannot do the job that should be done by your fellow artists, you know? A platform is only as good as the people you share it with :) thanks for sharing!!
After watching this video and reading those comments Me as 15 year old artist:😌😏💅💃 Plus I'm really thankful towards those older artists for sharing skills giving tutorials and Pinterest for the reference and everything😊❤️
doesn't matter if you start with 10 or with 50... just start... trust the process... love the process... art is not a competition... doesn't matter if 15 year olds are insanely good... it's all about your own journey........... and if I repeat that another like..500 times.. I might just believe it myself
If they are making that stuff at 14, and I’m 15 I might as well just throw my whole art career away at this point. I feel like I’ll never be as good as them. 8:19 I came here to be inspired, now I feel like a failure. 😭 LMAO WHAT ARE THEY FEEDING THESE KIDS??
I do wonder if all these persons who states in their profile bio that they are 15, 14... aren't just lowering their true age to fish for compliments. There's not any point in putting your age in your bio, and I doubt that at just that small age you'll be able to draw this good. Not to mention that it takes a lot of time and I would assume that these persons are in highschool so they can't really focus all their energy and time into drawing to get better or to finish their pieces. Drawing is hard but it looks like at their age they have already figured out things shading, color theory, how to draw hands/faces/bodies in different angles, how to make your creation visually interesting... It's true that there are a lot of RU-vidrs out there that give good advices but it's not like all these advices can change the way you draw everything
For some reason, no matter how much videos and art tutorials I watch, I cannot get how shadowing, lighting, and even regular physics work in these drawings.
Sam: So many good artist from the Philippines... is there something in the water there...should I move to the Philippines??? me: Did Sam just say Philippines.... I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED
Yes sadly here in the Philippines artists aren't rlly appreciated here. As a person who wants to be an artist then forces to be a lawyer for financial problems, it's hard + in an environment that ppl thinks that academics is only the way I can be successful (doctor, engineer, etc)
